My Scott Antique Market Find

1.31.2017

I've been getting ahead of myself and haven't shown y'all the one thing I purchased at the Scott Antique Market a couple of weeks ago. Well, y'all know I like many things, but my biggest weakness is......

......PILLOWS.

When I saw these grain sack pillows I was pretty sure I wanted one. It was one of the first booths I stopped in right after getting there so I told the vendor I would probably be back. Of course I had to shop the rest of the store first.

So after not buying anything else and we were heading out I went back and bought this one that had some numbers on the grain sack for that little extra. I love how big and heavy this pillow is and it is filled with a down and feather insert.

It's in the sunroom for now, but can be used in other spots in the house, too. Oh, and yes I painted the bench again. The green worked for awhile, but not anymore since I'm going with more blue in here.

I'll share the current look in the sunroom soon.

  8. what a great find....I haven't been to Scott's in a couple of years now, I need to make a trip soon (LOL)

I made a bolster pillow very similar to yours. Made it out of a drop cloth and painted on black stripes to look like an old grainsack....finished it off with black satin ribbon on the ends....it looks pretty good if I do say so myself (LOL). I've used it outside on a bench but right now it's on my window seat in my kitchen.

    Have a great week Kim!

  11. Pillow is perfect.
Is your rug blue or black and cream color? I need a 4x6 with blue to layer on an antique rug. We are wearing it out where we sit on sofa every night. Thanks.

  13. Kim, you and I are like two peas in a pod. I don't need one more pillow, but last two antique excursions found me bringing home pillows. I found a hooked wool rabbit pillow in Comfort, TX and last week at the Winter Show in Round Top I found a wonderful feed sack pillow with red and blue stripes. It is beautifully made and has a feather down insert. ;-)
