A New Favorite Ironstone Dish

3.10.2017

As most of you know I love ironstone. I started collecting it around seven years ago when I found out about it on other blogs. I have not spent a lot on it. I find deals at flea markets, antique malls, ebay and etsy. My newest piece was found on etsy.

As soon as I saw the cute lemon handle on top I had to have it. The fact that it is crazed makes it that much better.

Staining....no problem. Gives it character and tells me it's old.

It's sitting on my new antique French hutch which I will share soon.

Now I'm on the hunt for more with unique lids.

Happy Friday and have an awesome weekend!

  2. I'm also thinking I'm going to have to get on board finding a few pieces of ironstone! As of now I have one bowl that is very old and stained. I didn't even know what I had until seeing ironstone on blogs that I read. I have had it for years and I think I bought it at an estate sale. I love yours with the lemon on the lid!

  6. It's wonderful!
You know what I do with my soup tureen when I don't use it for soup? I use it to serve baked potatoes. The lid keeps them warm.

  8. I collect ironstone also, but I don't have a beautiful piece like this with the lemon lid! Beautiful! One of my favorite tureen lids is on an Instagram account that I follow. The handles are antlers, it's so unique. I've even thought about asking him if he would sell it!!

  10. I have seen a blog of yours from 2013 showing a handsome dough bowl filled with books. I love this idea! Where can I look for a dough bowl?
