Welcome to my French guest bedroom ready for fall as part of the Autumn's In The Air Fall Tour. I want to thank Sheila of Maison de Cinq for inviting me to participate. If you just came from Kim's tour at Sand and Sisal welcome and I'm sure you found some fabulous inspiration at her blog. I chose one of the guest bedrooms to share today as I am kind of obsessed with changing up the bedrooms each season. I love coming up with a new design. Maybe you'll find some new ideas for your own bedrooms. The main thing to do as the temps go down is to add layers and more texture. I love mixing patterns and colors to create a cozy and welcoming space.
Come on in to what I call the French Style guest bedroom.
When I saw this duvet cover I knew it would be perfect in this guest bedroom as I want to stick with the blues in here. The amber hues say fall to me and I love how it mixes well with the other bedding and the blue gingham drapes I hung back up. What, you don't change out your drapes? It's actually quite easy to do. I had solid white ones in here for summer and they were just too cold looking to me. So I hung the blue gingham ones that were stored away.
Fall is all about adding more layers for the cooler nights. We are still pretty hot here in the south, but it is supposed to be nice and fall like this weekend. This vintage quilt is a favorite of mine that I bought at an antique fair several years ago. It's layered over another quilt.
I love the texture these vintage mudcloth pillows add.
I love using these market bags around the house. This one holds some magazines and a throw for my guests.
Fall decor is scattered around the room.
I love using copper in the cooler moths. I tucked a mum and some winter cabbage plants in this old copper pot.
The other night table holds an urn filled with baby boos.
I don't know about y'all, but I choose my pumpkins for the stems. I made my annual trek to a pumpkin farm about an hour away. I chose one odd yellow one to mix with the white ones.
I bought several large pumpkins, too that will show up in more fall posts.
I normally keep the doors on the hutch closed, but I changed up the decor inside a bit so let's take a look.
I hope you found some ideas for your fall home and now you don't want to miss the next stop at Julie Blanner for more fall inspiration and be sure to check out the other links below for much more.

DeleteKIm, I love the way you save things and use them in different rooms and spaces around your home! You make everything look fresh and interesting for each season without spending a ton of money buying new all the time. I've always loved the way you rotate your bedding and pillows and layer everything so beautifully. Your Painted French cabinet looks amazing and I love the painted side table by the bed. You are a master at styling and using what you already have to make. Room look completely different for each season.

DeleteLove the cabinet in that bedroom! Change my drapes out???!!! LOL Never! I kept admiring the drapes Joan from "For the Love of a House" used so I finally asked her where they came from and the color. They are now in all our main rooms (minus kitchen/baths and sunroom). Love them and they go with everything.
ReplyDeleteYea, I have never invested in expensive drapes. The dining room and bathroom are both custom, but they weren't expensive for custom drapes.
DeleteMay I ask where you bought the white quilt or coverlet? I really like it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI guess you mean the solid white one. It's the Pick Stitch quilt from Pottery Barn.
