Country Living Fair Purchases

11.02.2017

I attended the Country Living Fair last Friday and today I thought I would share some of my purchases. I bought just a few small things. I was looking for some Christmas items and I found those and a couple of things I collect as I was searching for those.

I love vintage oil paintings and I lucked up on this beauty for only $12!

Besides the painting being worn and faded the tacks around the edge give away that it's old. The newer paintings are stapled.

A little Christmas swag with metal bells will hang somewhere. I wish I had gotten two.

A few vintage Shiny Brites were purchased and as I shared on instagram one broke when I dropped the bag.

I can't wait to use these on a new tree coming my way.

I love to use feathers and these little guinea feathers were just fifty cents each. This is where I got the ones I've been using already. I was glad to pick up a few more.

And this little ironstone creamer had to come home with me. Ironstone ✔ Cute blue stripe ✔

And here is a peek at the ironstone creamer and feathers together from a post coming soon.

I also picked up two cute Christmas pillows, but you'll have to wait for those when I share the room they will go in next month.

I'm off to get my hair colored and cut. I swear after turning 62 the grays are really coming in now!

 Have an awesome day!

  1. My husband and I were roadtrippin' last week but got back in time to go to the "Vintage Market" in Knoxville on Friday. We had never been but were pleasantly surprised at the amount of antiques. You must be putting up a big tree this year. I've collected vintage ornaments for a while and enjoy using those too. Haha on the hair, but at least you can collect SS now!!

No, SS for me yet. Don't even apply until 65.

    2. Shows how much I know. LOL I thought you could at 62. I don't remember last year's tree. I usually do multiple trees, although some are smaller.

  4. I finally got to attend the Country Living Fair near Atlanta this year! Wasn't the weather crazy? I heard a CL staffer say that Friday was like summer, Saturday was like Spring (with showers), and Sunday was like winter...every season but Fall. I LOVE your finds. My husband came with me so I was pretty limited on what he would let me squish in the car :( ...but I had fun anyway. I wish I had seen you...I have enjoyed your blog for over 5 years.

  5. Love seeing your haul, love the vintage pitcher with the feathers. I'm looking forward to seeing your Christmas decor this year. As far as SS goes, yes you can start receiving your SS at age 62, but I think most women wait. I started getting mine when I turned 62. nice consolation prize!

  8. FYI--I too am taking SS after retiring from GCPS. If you wait til 65 you get a little more but I believe... "bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", or whatever that old saying is. FYI--Queen of Hearts has Holiday Open House 11/9-11/12 in case you didn't know. Gobble Gobble.

Love the picture, but since I collect & sell vintage, I will wait till I'm a bit more vintage. 65 to collect. My value will go up.

  19. We were planning to visit the Country Living show last year but I was suffering with that other thing that happens with age - arthritis. Now that I've had both knees replaced, we might get there next year.
I love that painting and I need to find some of those feathers that look great in the cute pitcher!
