When most folks change up the look of a room they will change out the pillows and some decor. I do both those things, too, but I am also guilty of changing out the drapes. It's actually very easy to do. Today I'm sharing one guest bedroom with five different drapes in the last few years. If you click on the links you can view the full post.
Then I went neutral in this post.
Changed to a blue pattern when I shared the Cozy Fall Farmhouse Bedroom.
A few months ago I hung these blackout curtains with pretty pale blue stripes and shared them in the softer shades of summer post . Well, those have now moved across the hall.
We are back to buffalo checks, but this time in a charcoal gray and these may be just for the colder months or they may stay. You just never know.
So if you want a new look try changing out the drapes.
None of these are custom or expensive so it's easy to swap them out.

Love all of the drapes. It is a shame that Country Curtains is going out of business :-(
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they were going out of business! I love their curtains!

Oh my! I am in love with the buffalo check in gray!! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteBut, I disagree that it would be cheap to replace...I went to Pottery Barn...they start at $99 a panel! Hubby would not be pleased with me at all....
Then I went to find fabric...there is some in a cotton duck fabric at Fabric.com...but they don't recommend washing and drying.....so not the savings I was hoping for....It was $8.98 a yard there....I love the look of the ones from Pottery Barn....there is a similar (if not the same at Ballards) but theirs is $109 a panel....
So, I am stuck with what I have.....

I only buy them on sale and they are way cheaper than custom. 😀
DeleteTry Etsy
DeleteTry IKEA, in store or online. MARETE are my favorite and can be customized with sewn on trim, duck tape,or paint
DeleteI think even on sale they would be out of my budget! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou are also known to change the color of the furniture, as well, although not as frequently, of course! Always beautiful no matter what you change. I'm sure your guests are always thrilled to have a "new" room when they visit.
ReplyDeleteI have all neutral linen panels in our house. Just like our other bigger things, sofa, chairs, bedding. I don't get the itch to change things around as often as some, but I long loved my neutrals and changing out accessories, duvets, pillows, etc. I loved the look Joan has (For the Love of a House) and inquired about her panels. Ikea! Bingo!! We don't have one here but I ordered a pair, loved them and put them in all rooms other than kitchen/baths and sunroom (which has roman shades in almost same color.
ReplyDeleteII have ikea panels in the master. Yes very cheap!
DeleteI love each of your drape ideas I never would of thought to to those also Thank you for sharing and inspiring
ReplyDeleteI change draperies out, too, from time to time. I sew so and can make plain panels pretty reasonably if I can find a pattern I like. You always do a nice job changing things around, Kim. Hope you have a good week. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI, too, am sorry Country Curtains are going out of business!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Genie, I can't believe Country Curtains is going out of business after all these years. The best quality curtains ever! Kim, you just knock me out with your bedroom changes! Even the armoire gets changed with color! I need to raid your storage area LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, love the sun room. Would you share where you got the truck pillow please.
ReplyDeleteEtsy shop called Our Traditions.
DeleteThat was a very interesting post, I enjoyed the comparison of the different drapes and seeing how they can change the look of the room.
ReplyDeleteYour room has inspired me to decorate my guest bedroom. Love all your unique pieces. Where did you get your bedskirt? I'm having no luck finding one like yours.
ReplyDeleteIt's from Pottery Barn. Thanks
