The Christmas Sunroom 2017

12.11.2017

Each year I try to decorate the rooms in my home differently than the year before and I had no clue what I was going to do in the sunroom. This was the last room I decorated and usually it's the first. So I have added some simple decorations including a small fresh silver tip tree.
I thought this tree would never get here though.

The Christmas Sunroom 2017

After seeing these cute silver tip trees on the web and on instagram I had to have one. So I found a site on line...The Silver Tip Tree Farm in the Sierra Nevada mountains that ships them all over the country.

I knew I needed to get my order in early this year because I waited too late last year and they were all sold out. So I ordered this one in early November and it would be shipped right after Thanksgiving.

I got an email that it had shipped so I was expecting it in less than a week. Well.....the waiting game began.

I would check the tracking number and it was finally out for delivery to my house, but it didn't get delivered. For some reason it was taken back to the UPS warehouse. Then it was out for delivery again the next day. Okay, good it's coming! Well, nope, nada, no, it was not delivered again. What on earth is going on?

It went back again and then out for delivery again. This time it finally was delivered and we were out of town, but coming home the next day. When I picked the box up that the tree was in it didn't weigh anything. It was so dried out. I had Mr. Savvy cut the end of the trunk off and set it in water. Thank goodness it drank that water and looked much better.

Along with the tree that finally arrived I set out some Christmas pillows and some other accents.

Red berries and red and white jingle bells in a bowl. Why not?

Anybody else buy way too many Christmas magazines?

My favorite spot is the bench with the cute plaid pillows and a very soft throw.

I tucked some pine picks in this enamelware pitcher.

Well, I'll be here waiting on Santa.
Hopefully he doesn't go back and start over three days in a row.

Hoping you have a fabulous week!

I need to get my rear in gear and shop for Christmas!!

  3. The tree is adorable and just right for that spot.
What a clever idea to have Christmas cushion covers. They make a statement.
I also love the pompons on the plaid pillows. In the photos, they look like ornaments.

  5. Love your simple Christmas sunroom Kim. I too have way too many Christmas magazines but I do not have one of the ones you show. Sorry it took your tree forever to come. Glad it perked back up.

  7. That's awful about the tree! I hope you complained. We have a local nursery that has some beautiful little trees. Not sure if they have they kind, but what they have is just as pretty. Didn't buy one single Christmas magazine this year. I flipped through a few but didn't see any that really grabbed me and the price for magazines is getting ridiculous!! I picked up one at Lowes yesterday and it was 13.99! Crazy! Hope you get that shopping done soon. I would be stressed if I still had to deal with shopping this late. People and traffic has been CRAZY in the big city near me!! (people lose their minds this time of year LOL)

    1. We only buy for the kids and grand kids and the grand kids are almost done. Sitting and ordering online is the way I do most of it. Easy peasy.

  14. Lovely! But I miss that great looking red and white striped chair from 2015. UPS has trouble find our house, so I am always reluctant to order perishable stuff. At least your tree perked up!

    1. I still have that chair. It's in the bonus room. It isn't white. It's more of a vanilla color with red and gray stripes. It is also dirty. It got dirty super fast. Must be the fabric. Thanks

  18. That is awful about that tree!!!! It's crazy about shipping sometimes.

I love the sweet simplicity of the sunroom, Kim. It looks like a place you could sit down and really relax in without feeling the need to get up and 'adjust' something. lol

I hope you have a wonderful night and week. Busy, busy here as always! xo Diana

  26. The sunroom looks wonderful Kim! Such a cute little tree. I am loving all the Christmas stuff especially the snow as it is so so hot here. I am glad to hear that shipping is hit and miss all over the world. Some things I order locally even though I pay the express rate take far too long to be delivered and yet if I order from the US it takes no time at all. I buy fabric all the time from the US and it is delivered half way around the world cheaply and with 4 days as a rule.
