New Paint Color Reveal

2.05.2018

There's just something about a fresh coat of paint. Everything feels cleaner and brighter. Mainly because everything got a good cleaning before putting things back in place. Bye bye dust bunnies. Not everything went back to the same exact spot they were in before. This was a good time to switch things up so today we are starting in the foyer. For those who have missed recent posts the new color is French Canvas by Benjamin Moore. This color is also in the guest bedroomkitchen and  breakfast room.

I have been wanting to swap the big chest that was here in the foyer with this smaller chest that was in the great room and I love the change.

The other thing I wanted to do was try Mango the cow in this spot instead of the mirror. Mango looks good no matter where he hangs. The other chest was so tall and wide that I feel this one fits the space better. I love the other chest in the great room, too. I should have swapped them sooner.

After the traveling gypsy man painting has hung on this wall for twenty two years he has a new spot now and I added the vintage sconce in it's place.

This is one of the vintage Ethan Allen sconces that was over the mantel, but I have something new coming for the mantel so I'm so glad it works well in this spot. The other one may land somewhere else.

And he has a new spot here.

I replaced the dog picture at the top of the stairs with the pastoral.

The new paint color has made such a difference.

You can refresh your memory on the way it was before in this post.

I hope y'all have a great week!

  4. I'm sure the color change is more obvious to you. The chest looks good in it's new spot. I hear you on the dust bunnies. I always do a big clean before the holidays and that kind of stuff gets done. And then again in spring. Have a good week!

  6. The new paint color is GREAT! Light-airy-fresh!
YOU are definitely the master of REinterpreting things in a whole new way--everything looks fabulous in it's new place!
I tend to REALLY only do that when I've moved--furniture usually gets shuffled around for a whole new unexpected use!

    1. They are just some kind of decorative metal pieces. They are reproductions of French candlesticks. Thanks

  20. I like the new paint color. I've been looking for a new color for my LR and DR and I think I might have to try "French Canvas". It seems like such a nice backdrop for lots of decor and furniture pieces.

I love Mango. He looks great in his new spot. I like the bold texture of the canvas he's on, too.

    Nice post, Kim!

Love your home! Can you tell me where I can find Mango the cow? It reminds me of my dad's farm.
