Wow Us Wednesdays #386

5.09.2018

Welcome to Wow Us Wednesdays! I'm afraid life has gotten in the way this week for me to have any time to pick out features. It takes a good bit of time that I just didn't  have. My mom fell at home Sunday night after being home only five days from rehab and she fractured her shoulder so I have been sitting with her at the hospital and I'm exhausted by the time I get home. Hospital sitting wears me out. So I apologize for no features this week. Thanks for all the prayers sent when I posted about her fall on facebook. She is still in the hospital and will be going back in rehab possibly by tomorrow. My brother and I have decided she is not able to return home again as it is just not possible or safe for her there. She actually fell twice in five days, but the first fall wasn't bad.

Attention: Next week this party will go back to Tuesday nights at 7pm eastern time.
Wednesday mornings is not getting a great turnout so we will try Tuesday night again. I had several say they preferred the link up time in the evening.

This week I shared the makeover of one of the guest bedrooms without spending a dime. If you missed it you can check it out here.

Thanks so much for partying here.
Now we want to see what you have to wow us with this week.

  10. Oh no! I hate your mom fell again. I hope she will go along with the decisions you and your brother are making. I hope your brother and sister (I didn't know you had a brother till this post LOL!!) are helping you out at the hospital. We are going through health issues with my dad but thankfully my sister and I swap out (he is still at his home). Enlist other family members to help and take care of you too.

    1. Yes, she fell in less than five days home. Actually twice. We wanted her to go to assisted living and she bucked the idea, but she can't this time. cannot go home unless she has a nurse there all the time. My brother works, but he has been doing a lot of research to find some nice places for us to look at that her long term insurance will cover. Her mind is also not good at all right now and that's so hard to see happen to her. My brother's wife and I have been sitting with her and we were there till 1 am the night of the fall. I have had very little sleep this week and am about exhausted. I'm going to go visit her later today after my husband gets home as I have lots to catch up on around here and errands to run. My sister comes for a visit now and then as she says it's a long drive for her with heavy traffic and other obligations. So it's my brother, sister in law and me doing what we can to arrange things for her, take her to appointments and keep her company as much as we can.

  11. Bless your heart(s)! We dealt with that with my grandmother. Lost my mom almost 8 years ago and two months before she passed away (cancer) we had to put my grandmother in assisted living. My mom had been helping care for her. She lived there almost 6 years before she passed away. She hate it (and us) at first, but then grew to love it. I never had to worry about her care there. Then my MIL had a bout with cancer/treatment (now recovered praise the lord!)and now it's my dad. It's can be a stressful time in life, dealing with aging parents and it's something you don't think about when you are younger. Thankfully my sister and I help each other. Our brother lives out-of-town.

  15. Kim,
I hope you are able to find someplace you mom will like and be safe. All of us who have faced similar situations understand a little of what you are facing. No two situations are the same, but we empathize knowing ours.

Thank you for hosting a weekly linking party.

  21. So sorry to hear about your mother. My mother was in and out of hospitals so I know what you've been through. With her doctor's help, we finally got her in a retirement home where she had help as needed. Wishing you the best.
