The Summer Master

7.23.2018

I have been wanting to share how I lightened up the master bedroom for summer for awhile now. This is the darkest room in the house in the summer and the sun has finally gotten in a posistion where there is actually some light coming in at 5:30 pm. It's crazy how dark this room stays this time of year. It is also a very short window of time for that light coming in for me to snap some shots.
So now that I finally have them let's look at the summer master.

The main star of the summer bedroom is this beautiful new quilt. I saw it months ago while shopping at Pottery Barn...imagaine that.....and then I waited for it to go on sale.

The white and the pretty flowers all over it just say summer.

This chair stays in this room most of the time and when I luck up on bedding in the same colors I grab it. Funny, how the same exact colors are in the bedding.

It's also reversible. Two quilts for the price of one is always a good thing.

I swapped these lamps from the guest bedroom with the ones I had in here.

And this is one of the new lamps I bought on our trip. They came with a pleated natural color shade that was just too dark in here so I put those shades on the lamps in the farmhouse style guestroom.
Lampshades are so easy to switch for a fresh new look.

In a few weeks there will be another change in here so stay tuned.

I'm off to help move my mom back into assisted living after several weeks in the hospital and rehab.

Hope y'all have a fabulous week!

  14. The master looks just great, Kim. That bedspread is really different from what you have had in the past but I like it a lot. I think it looks great with the color of the chair...and that light fixture just adds the perfect finishing touch.

I had to laugh- I am ALWAYS switching lamp shades around. John will say- why is it darker in here where I usually sit and read? lol I just shrug and keep walking. xo Diana

  19. Kim,
I am a woman possessed!!! I saw a post on Ann of Suttan Place that showed a winter cabin bedroom with the cutest ski rack christmas pillow. Is the tag intact so I may begin my search in ernest? I believe I've been to no less than 4 TJMaxx stores trying to even find something similar. HELP!!

    1. Carol, the link to that bedroom is on Ann's post, too if you want to see more. I bought that pillow two years ago and I don't think I even have it anymore. I wish I could tell you where to find one.
