Cheery and Colorful Christmas Bedroom

12.13.2018

Today I'm sharing the bonus room that serves as a guest bedroom especially when the grands visit. I wish our out of town grands were coming this year, but sadly they aren't. I still wanted to give this room a child like Christmas theme. So I grabbed things from my stash and started adding things here and there.

Cheery and Colorful Christmas Bedroom

I kept the same floral duvets on the beds that have been on them since spring and added the red gingham duvets sans inserts on top for a fun added pattern and color for Christmas. Last year I used these red gingham duvets with inserts as the main bedding. You can see that post here. I loved what I did in here last year.

So this year I used some of the same elements, but with a new look. The deer heads were lucked up on at HomeGoods last year.

The cute embroidered pillows were found at the Country Living Fair last year.

I'm loving the chest painted green this year for a fun traditional Christmas color.

This is my favorite snowman that I found at Tuesday Morning a few years ago. His stick arms are bendable and he's holding many candy canes.

This wooden sign hung in another guest bedroom last year and I came up with the idea to hang it over the bench.

I found these cute figurines several years ago in a local shop and I usually find a spot for them.

A stack of vintage quilts are ready to grab on those colder nights.

There's a chair to sit in read in with the cute Santa pillow I used in the great room last year.

I'm loving the fun colors and patterns mixed in here.

Just by using things I already had on hand and in different ways I have created a cheery and colorful Christmas bedroom ready for the young at heart.

Have a great day and how can it almost be the weekend again?

  3. Beautiful!
Question regarding the care of your quilts. Do you launder them in regular washer or have them done professional? I have several that my grandmother made and I’m terrified to actually use them as I’m not sure how to launder them. It makes me sad to not use them because they are beautiful and so special.
    Thanks.

  14. Kim, Love the red gingham on the bed. It’s the red pop that gives the beds the great Christmas feel. The pillows and the goodnight sign are wonderful. Too bad your grands won’t be here this year to enjoy. But we get to!!
