Christmas Foyer 2018

12.09.2018

Is everyone hunkered down this weekend? We have cold rain and we may see ice and I know others are getting a lot of snow. So while everyone is stuck inside it's a good time to look at blogs and pinterest for Christmas inspiration. I start looking and then next thing I know I have sat here for hours and that's not good.

I have recently shared a blue, white and gold Christmas bedroom, the French country Christmas dining room, and the neutral French farmhouse sun room and now I'm sharing the foyer. Probably should have started with the foyer since it's the first thing you see upon entering our home. I'm keeping things simple so I just added a few things like greenery, candles and pillows to make it welcoming for the holidays.

Christmas Foyer 2018

It's nearly impossible to get good photos in the front of the house this time of year. The sun pours in for hours and then it's gone and dark in here. This is the morning view from the front door.

I knew when I got this harvest basket that I would fill it with some greenery for Christmas.

I wasn't sure how to decorate the top of the chest so I just kept the candlesticks that were already here and added the gold votives.

These are so pretty when they are lit and twinkling.

Fresh garland was hung on the railing and I added the French style stocking. A new pillow with a vintage style St. Nick adorns the antique French chair. I hate to say it, but this fresh garland is on its last leg and will be tossed soon.

An older pillow I use at Christmas, but it really could be used year round adds a touch of holiday cheer to this French bench.

This is how it looked all weekend with the lights on while pouring rain. Excuse the grill and table and chairs on the deck. It went from summer to winter and those things need to be put away.

Now we have entered the great room and that tour will be up next.

Thanks so much for visiting!

  2. You decorated your foyer so beautifully. I love the fresh garland on the stairs and all the pretty candles. So nice that you have a view of your gorgeous tree from that spot! Stay warm...I understand the south is getting hit with snow. It looks like it won't make it up this far. Needless to say, my boys are disappointed. Enjoy your week!

  4. Your foyer is very pretty decked out for Christmas! We quit using live garland a few years back because of how quickly they dry out.
