Whimsical Christmas Guest Bedroom

12.17.2018

How was your weekend? Ours was busy with moving my mother to memory care on Friday and then a family Christmas party on Saturday on Mr. Savvy's side. Sunday was laundry, ironing and Costco. Don't ever go to Costco on the weekend this close to Christmas. 😡
I don't know what was worse the parking lot or inside. Traffic jams everywhere.

Can y'all believe that next Monday is Christmas eve? Wow, time has flown by. I haven't even started wrapping gifts yet, but I will soon.
Today I'm sharing the guest bedroom that I always have fun with at Christmas. I wasn't sure what I was going to do in here and then while browsing Pier One on line there it was, my inspiration for the room. The cutest painting went into my cart and arrived a couple of days later.

After I hung the cute painting then I grabbed some Christmas decorations I had on hand and added some coordinating pillows to the bed. Isn't the red and gray plaid pillow cute?

I ordered it from Pottery Barn and it was like $17 and it's faux fur on the back side. Two looks for the cheap price of one.

I ordered the little Merry Christmas pillow from an etsy shop and it's cute, but I guess I didn't read the information very well as I thought I was just buying a cover. It is a whole pillow with some kind of stuffing. I like pillows with zippers where I can switch out to a down insert.
This pillow was intended for another spot, but it just didn't look right. There's always a new spot for a pillow.

I added some cute Christmas decor to this nightstand.

I found this vintage style snowman at Tuesday Mornings years ago.

On the other nightstand I used the same tree that I used in here last year just in a different pot and decorated a bit differently.

More color is added to the chair with a textured kilm pillow I have had and a plaid throw.

A grainsack stocking with an added dark gray tassel hangs from the bed.

I think this may be my favorite so far even though Last Year's was a very close second.

This is a photo of the room at night which I shared on instagram right after I decorated the room a few weeks ago. Some changes were made after the pillows arrived, but I liked it this way, too.

Wishing y'all a fabulous week!

    1. Barbara, all the bedding except the bed skirt is from Pottery Barn. The duvet and shams are old and no longer sold. Thanks

  12. Any chance you could share where you got your bedding? Love the subtle, warm feel it gives the room. It probably decorates very well with many different themes.

  16. I love your gray and white guest bedroom, and the sign above the bed is to die for! How cute - I believe I can paint that. It is such a good idea to go neutral on your bedding and walls then one can add any accent color they desire. This can move from Christmas red accents to pink, yellow, or green spring/summer accents. Love your teddy bear snowman and the throw pillow with the fur! Wonderful room to relax in.
