Took the filler, a found bird nest from our yard, a little bird I already had, and a crab apple branch I had on hand...
....along with this lantern that was by the fireplace
and made it into this.
This little nest was very fragile and I messed with it one too many times and it kind of
fell apart. I didn't like the way it blended in with the filler anyway and switched it
to this nest with the blue robin's eggs.
I picked up these old books at a flea market
added a little magnifying glass on top that I already had
Love the little rooster tassel.
found this majolica replica plate at another flea market last week
to create this new vignette. Cost was under $22.00
Here is a mosaic of something else I have been working on that I will share with you soon.
This week I am joining these linky parties: It's So Very Cheri for it's so very creative Monday.
A Stroll Thru Life for tabletop Tuesday
A Coastal Charm for nifty thrifty Tuesday
The Little Red House for mosaic Monday
Please be sure and click on the highlighted links and see what everyone else is sharing this week. I think because it is spring now I am in the nesting mood or something. I just can't stop creating things. So be sure and visit often.
Thank you so much for all the comments and I certainly look forward to hearing from you again. I hope everyone has a great week.
Y'all come back now,
KIM

Beautiful! I love the way you put it all together. Is that a slipcover I see on your sofa? I need to find one for mine!
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful taste. I just love to come over and visit you. So glad I found you recently!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

What a pretty vignette and it makes a great mosaic.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! I really like the way you used the lantern! I wouldn't have thought of that! Great vignette! Happy week...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLove it. I have a lantern that I was going to put away for the summer. NOT NOW!! Call me Copycat..
ReplyDeleteThe little bird nest was so perfect and cute!~ I wonder why someone would get rid of moss? Oh well like you said your gain. Wonderful little rooster tie too!~ Nice job Kim!
ReplyDeleteThis is great!! I love your finds and how you put it all together. I am so glad that you have this blog, it inspires me soooo much!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with all your amazing finds! The little vignette you put into the lantern is gorgeous! SO unique and creative!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Kim. I think I'll do something like this with one of the lanterns we have around the house.
ReplyDeleteThe vignette is wonderful!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteYour so creative!! I love what you did with the lantern, beautiful.. Looks great where you put it.
Cheryl~
You have such a knack for styling things. IMO, the way items are arranged makes all the difference. When a bunch of accessories are just lined up in a row they aren't nearly as interesting no matter how much they cost.
ReplyDeleteKim, thank you for stopping by my blog, The Sweetest of Days. I'm so glad you did, I just love your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately our Goodwill isn't all that good but maybe I'll give it another shot. You never know. Not to mention I could probably drop a few things off at the same time.
I'll be back to peruse your older posts. Some of them I already went through but I need to go through more : )
Sharon
Love your interior decor photos...girl, you've got class!!! Zoe sends your Bailey puppy kisses!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your photos. We have very similar taste. In fact, I have that bird too & love it.
ReplyDeleteHello Kim! You really put that filler to good use! I love finding bargains at Goodwill. Happy Spring to you...
ReplyDeleteLove it! Only you could find a tassle with tiny rooster ties! What a brilliant idea to put them in the lantern. Just gorgeous and so springy!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette! Love the nest arrangement!
ReplyDeleteI had a moment to catch up and I wanted to thank you for your thoughtful words and prayers for my mom. I'm leaving tomorrow to go spend some time with her. We are still trying to find some answers.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your bedroom turned out. It is beautiful, the bedding is fabulous and you have it so perfect! The mansion was also stunning. So, that is how the other half lives! I also really like what you did with the lantern...almost anything can be a cloche! Thanks again.
Sue
Very pretty vignette! I love what you did with the lantern and all the new little touches. Can't wait to see the whole thing! Martina
ReplyDeleteLove it, your "terrarium" is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNice styling on the lantern, Kim. I love using nests for my displays. Your entire tabletop turned out really nice! :-)
ReplyDelete~ Sue
Your lantern is so pretty! I don't think I could have put that together. I also looked at your new master bedroom. It is GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so beautiful! My mom has a lantern similar to yours that she has on her coffee table and changes it out for the holidays/seasons. Gonna have to be on the lookout for one for me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely mosaic . I love what you did with your finds.
ReplyDeleteYou will get tired of me complimenting your creativity, eye, and interior decoration talent....will you also get tired of me begging you to come to my house and help me??!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Kim!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Very creative.
Robin

ReplyDeleteVery nice! I especially love what you did with the lantern. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kim!! Is that a slipcover I see on your red sofa?? I too have a red check sofa (from my country days-ugh!). Looking into having a custom slipcover made. Btw-your bedroom looks fabulous-great job there too!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever thought to use your lantern like that. Only just 'found' your blog, but I like what I see and will be back for more! Now where can I get a lantern from?...
ReplyDeleteVery creative!! I love that lantern. Nice mosaic, you have been busy! I love your bedroom post and plan to do something with a mirror I have, too. The bedding was gorgeous! I can't decide what bedding set I'm going to with yet. That was a great tour of the home, too! It was very impressive, especially the fireplace. I hope to do a tour of historic homes soon and take lots of pics! Thank you for stopping by my post and the nice comment, its greatly appreciated....Michelle :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on that table! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI have that same lantern by my fireplace. I am thinking there is going to be some copycating going on :) Love your blog.

ReplyDeleteThat's so cute. I love what you did with the treasures. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat talent! And the filler probably came from someone like me who is cleaning out her basement storage. I can't believe how much unused craft stuff was just sitting there, forgotten. . .

ReplyDeleteKim, you just amaze me! You can take a variety of items from here and there and turn them into most lovely and artful decoration! Very Nice!
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is stunning. I love the lantern used as a cloche and decorated with the nest and the apples and bird. So pretty. The books, lamp and everything together are gorgeous. Thanks so much for joining the party. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh, I love what you have done!! Anything with birds surely does speak to me!! I have several around the house (fakes) and lots of feeders outside. I was surprised at the size of the books --they tie in so nicely with your tablescape. I couldn't read the title on the bottom one, but was curious. I don't think I have read the top one, but I have read the middle one. Have fun! Oh, love the magnifying glass!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, love your lantern. Your birds nest and bird with the vine is the crowning touch. Would love to go to a flea market with you, you found some great treasures... hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteLove that lantern, Kim! What a great idea! The magnifying glass is fabulous! The lamps are gorgeous! The whole vignette is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have that exact same table ha! I switched out the knobs with brass lionheads. My son & daughter have forbidden me to paint it, along with the armoire and the GF clock ha!
Thanks for your visit and fun comment!
Cheers!

Katherine
What a lovely vignette and it looks expensive even if it wasn't! I really like the cute birds nest with the robin's eggs, the real nests really are very fragile.
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Beautiful! You are so very Creative! Thanks for visiting Color Chic!
ReplyDeleteHi kim!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful! I love how you put it all together.
Sometimes the "real" thing is a little TOO "natural"...I like the faux nest with the eggs you used better too, it goes perfectly with the moss. Your whole vignette is perfectly done, not too much, not too little and looks terrific on your lovely sofa table in your gorgeous room.
ReplyDeleteDD
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed all the ideas one little bag of filler sparked!!!
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou DO have a special talent for creating special little gatherings of items. I really like your magnifying glass in this one. We used to have one & I asked DH if he knew where it was...must have disappeared in the last move from FL. :-(
I really enjoy seeing what you're doing with the different corners of your beautiful home. I even called DH in to come see your gorgeous floors! He was duly impressed.
Thanks for sharing your lovely world with us.
fondly,
Rett

Hi Kim!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful...you have such a nice touch! When I lived in TN, I used to go to Good Will every Sunday. At work, people would comment on my outfit and I would always say, "It was 99 cents!" I was known around the office as "The 99 Cents, Girl"!
As Always, I enjoyed the visit!
You have a great eye for decorating!
ReplyDeleteYou made the most of the moss filler - lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYou would think you paid a lot of money for that centerpiece! That is just amazing how you brought it all together. Another Springtime glory unfolded right there in your lantern! :) Simply lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI really like your table top...it looks so inviting. I love the lantern you put together, especially the little bird. I also love your tassel on the magnifying glass, I've never seen one like that before! It all is a calm, great look. Thanks for sharing!
