This is the huge hackberry tree by the driveway to the right of the house. The leaves are just coming out.
My Japanese Maple is the fullest I have ever seen it. Must be from the abundance of rain this year.
Mr. Savvy built this rock wall by hand a few years ago.
This is where I sit and look out at the pond.
The yard has greened up very fast. The brown spots are the bermuda we put in place of some bad areas of centipede last summer. Centipede greens up faster than bermuda. I have also put out weed killer. I hope all the weeds die soon. I HATE weeds!!

Oh Kim your too funny...my daughter celebrated her birthday the entire month of March! She took pity on her parents and gave us a portion one evening...she moved on later that night to Hotel Zaza in Dallas and celebrated the night away!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is stunning...I love all of the space! All of your little touches just scream spring! Your home is as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside...LOVE IT!
Kim- your home is really beautiful and the landscaping, too! I saw the before and after with the stone front, it really was a nice addition!
ReplyDeleteYour house is gorgeous. I love all the beautiful landscaping and how green everything is looking. Just lovely. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love your home and I really love your surroundings. I live where there are no trees, but one day I will live amongst them!!! I will just envy yours for now.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYou have a beatiful home! And your yard is just gorgeous. Thanks for the tour :)
Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou house is beautiful. Everything is greening up nicely. Loved my walk through your yard!

Oh, how I long for a beatiful spring day like that! We are still having rain, hail, cold temps, and very wet gardeners. I can't wait for a little sunshine! I guess that's what you get when you live in the Pacific Northwest.
ReplyDeleteKim I can't get over how green your grass is...Mike just cut the grass today and I said WOW it looks awesome already!~ I love the rock wall your hubby built it is really pretty, and I noticed your new painted door....just beautiful!~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I especially like the birdhouse shot...pass the Claritin :-)
ReplyDeleteYour yard and pond are gorgeous! Your home is gorgeous! You have done a good job on the garden, so pretty. I can't believe you do not like crawfish. I suck the head too, lol, it's the best part...Christine
ReplyDeleteEverything is looking beautiful, Kim. We've been having the same kind of temps. A tad early. Supposed to cool off, the next few days.
ReplyDeleteThe rhododendron I took pics of, Sunday morning, when it was just buds, is now, two days later, in full bloom! I'll have to get some photos, tomorrow.
Looks so pretty! The rock wall is awesome. Way to go Mr. Savvy! Kim, you are really getting some fantastic photos. Your new camera is good, but you are just getting some gorgeous angles. I love the bird house picture and the single leaf above it. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are in the same predicament Kim. Hi temps and pollen count, blah.
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks great!
Mr. Savvy is quite the guy with those mad stacked stone skills.
What a beautiful home you have. Your Japanese Maple is so very pretty and you are right, full of leaves. Awesome!

Hi Kim, Now I see why you got so many bales of hay. You use it for mulch, now I know!! Your yard is massive and to have all those wonderful trees and a pond, that is just awesome. It is so lovely. I said the same about my Japanese Maple this year it is fuller than ever. I think it has to be the rain, I think you are right. Beautiful yard my dear friend, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteKim your yard and home are so spectacular! Love the design style of your home. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so lush and green already! Ours is STILL is mostly brown with some green mixed in. Hmmmm...I'm really wondering why since my hubby did put down fertizer already. I don't remember it talking this long before to be all green.
We shall see how it goes. Your JM is stunning! Ours is tiny. They don't grow that big in NC I don't think.
~Blessings, ~Melissa :)
OMGosh, your yard is stunning...right along with your magnificent house. Just beautiful !
ReplyDeleteNow, just to tell you that RAINBOW SHERBERT, aloong with Ginger Ale, 7-up, Frescia...any of those are good. Just seems like Ginger Ale isn't quite as sweet...now that we are talking about it, I am heading to the kitchen to make myself one!! :))
Hey Kim,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yard and home! My allergies have been acting up but that hasn't kept me from planting my annuals. Isn't it wonderful to see all the plants coming alive?
I love your house and landscaping! I think this year is the "year of the yard" for me, since we've lived in our house for two years and I've been procrastinating on that front. I'm not someone with a green thumb, so I'm a little intimidated! What is the pink flowering shrub that you have in the 5th photo? I have some of these in my yard and don't know what they are.
ReplyDeleteWow, your house, garden and the things in it are beautiful - it must take work. Hope you don't suffer too much with the sneaky sneezies (as my 3 year old puts it). Happy Outdoor Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteyour home and sorounding are all great.....i love it....
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Kim...what a change has taken place over just a month! Your yard & home look lovely & I envy you all that room. Not the WORK that goes along with maintaining it, though. I can see you put a great deal of effort into keeping it beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour little bowl with the hanging spoon is just a delightful little treasure! I can see it filled with parm. cheese for a spaghetti dinner or maybe grape jam for the breakfast table. It is just perfect for so many little uses. Lucky Dog!!
Have you been to this store? I immediately thought of you & your beautiful home when I saw it.

I think it is in your town, if I've got my Bufords straight now. LOL
Your home is lovely, Kim and the yard looks great already. I say already because our beds are not yet mulched.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo was the one of the birdhouse. I just loved it!!
Beautiful! I like the pine mulch you used. I always use cypress mulch here.
ReplyDeleteI hate weeds too. We have woods and empty space around us so we fight Johnson grass....grrr! I have plenty of it in my yard this year. Yesterday I was actually out there pulling weeds by hand. Silly huh?
Your yard is wonderful! The landscaping is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home you have! Mr. Savvy did a wonderful job on the rock wall. I would love to do something like that around our walkway. Your yard is so lush and I adore all the trees. I also noticed the plantation shutters...I am jealous with envy. I LOVE shutters. What a fun walk that was, thanks for taking us along with you! =) ~Liz
ReplyDeleteKim, your yard and home are simply beautiful. It looks so peaceful and happy! I love the bench with the heart designs in the back and the rock wall and the bench to look out over the water... and... and... and...
ReplyDeleteYour grass is greening up so well! Our St. Augustine is just barely starting to peek out its blades. But, wow, are we EVER covered in pollen!! We returned home Monday night to a yellow coated home! AaaaChoo!
Always a delight to see your beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteWow I'm so jealous Kim!! We still have lots of brown, and worse that that it's light brown/gray. There are some trees just budding, so maybe in a couple weeks. Your yard looks beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful! Everything looks so Springy! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll definitely be back to yours!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful, Kim! All of your hard work really shows! My yard is all bermuda...so it's not very green at my house right now! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI knew everything was looking beautiful by now! You see, I have Bermuda grass, so mine looks like the little brown circles you have in yours. Ha! I can't get over how great your backyard looks. I remember you telling me recently how wet and soggy it was. It sure looks great now!! Looks like your pinestraw job turned out good too. Now you can sit back and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home and yard. I love rock walls. Mr. Savvy did a great job building yours. Love the bird house.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my stroll around you yard. Thank you.
~ Tracy

ReplyDeleteKim, Your landscape is looking great! I love the Natchez crape myrtles and the evergreens in the urns. ( Noticed the crape myrtles in an older photo)...So very Southern Living.. Ü
ReplyDeleteDo you have any favorite plants in your garden or those "tried and true" ones you use every year?
You have such a beautiful home and yard. I loved my visit.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful and so green!! Ours isn't there yet....I will have to double check where you live!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful house! My hubby would be incredibly jealous of the yard; if not for weeds, we would have no green!
