This was taken in the spring.
This was taken this morning. See how the grass is greener and fuller and look how all
the other plants have grown.
Spring
Now
yesterday before a haircut
today after their haircut
crepe myrtles are starting to bloom
This is my white rose of Sharon in the front yard.
With the cooler weather we had the past few days and lower humidity our sky has been much
bluer. This is really strange for the summer.
portaluca and superbells in my hanging basket out front are doing well
A lone petunia left in the basket with a spiderweb connected to it. Can you see it?
The monkey grass or lirope has gotten huge this year and the blanket flowers are surviving the heat.
Switched things up on the porch.
Someone's paint job is fading. Guess I need to give him a dye job.
Come and sit a spell won't you?

Just lovely ... your yard is gorgeous. A lot of upkeep, I'm sure! And worth every second. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great tour Kim of the B & A...it sure does look awesome right now TODAY!, it always does, but I know what you mean come August, things start getting Yucky then til Fall comes. Thanks for linking up to my first Before and After party! FUN!:) Debbie
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Very nice little bench near the front - a good place to sip your Merlot, no?
ReplyDeleteYour place looks lovely! All the hard work is worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good. Nice yard and good Y post!
ReplyDeleteKim, your home is gorgeous. It is so beautiful on the inside, and just as beautiful on the outside. All of your plants are gorgeous. So pretty. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteKim, your garden and your home is just beautiful. As a fellow southerner, your yard is hanging in there much better than mine! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYour lawn is beautiful and the landscaping, as well!
Gorgeous outdoor photos! I love your yard! Everything is looking great! Wonderful idea to do the before and after w/that! I may have to do one of those! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely garden. I was wondering what that small tree was, so I'm glad you told me it was crepe myrtle. I take it you have to prune the new growth off every fall. It's lovely. We can't grow them here.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful. But I must say, the basket of flowers on the front door really tops it all off. Visiting from Outdoor Wed.
ReplyDeleteJane T.
Kim, Your yard looks wonderful and of course your home is gorgeous! It was 105 degrees today and I didn't want to even walk outside. My poor plants are not doing well in this heat.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Sherry
This is just a lovely home Kim...so well kept. The bushes do indeed look so much better with their hair cuts too. :D
ReplyDeleteYour yard and front garden are beautiful! Do you have a sprinkler system to water the lawn in this dry spell? It looks luscious!
ReplyDeletePenny
so hot and dry here in Pa i haven't seen a green yard in days....so is very nice to see 1 as green as yours!
ReplyDeleteYour home sure is pretty, Kim! The grass is so green now, and the plants so lush. Our crepe myrtles have been blooming about a month or so now. So many blooms drift right down to my little pond. A mess to clean out. But they're so lovely. No wonder you stay so skinny. You've got a huge yard to care for!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Beautiful pictures. You have a very lovely home.

Goodness Kim, your home is gorgeous! Your garden too, it's all just really pretty, even the mulch!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a nice holiday, ours was pretty rainy, but that was OK! We never complain about free water over here, LOL.
Have a great week!
It's just way too hot here and no rain in sight for weeks. The yards here are dry and the flowers and bushes look so thirsty and sad. It's nice to come look at your greenery.
ReplyDeleteDi
Your yard is lovely. You got those hedges in shape! I seem to be trimming hedges all the time. I consider it shoulder exercise. Your little dog is adorable.
ReplyDeletexo,

Love seeing pictures of your yard - so pretty. I noticed the sky here has been extremely blue in the morning, then changes mid day as the humidity rises.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I know how much work it takes for a big yard.
ReplyDeleteI have the same bench you do! Like it a lot!
Nice pics too.
I call it monkey grass too Kim. Your yard looks great. Ours feels like concrete under foot now that it hasn't rained in so long. At least the skies are blue.
ReplyDelete-Rene
Beautiful house...gorgeous landscaping!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely! We haven't had rain in 3 weeks, so even with the irrigation system things are browning.
ReplyDeleteIt has been very hot here, and I am on an island !
You did a great job clipping. I used to do it myself, but I have to pay someone to do it now. You saved yourself A LOT of $$$!
You have a lovely yard. Amazing you do the work yourself. I let hubby do all the outside, I dig a whole and drop some flowers in them every now and then.
ReplyDeleteYour grass is so lush, Kim. Your yard looks so good and I know you do most of the work so you are doing a real good job. Beautiful flowers. My crape myrtles are finally blooming too but mine are pink. Oh I forgot I have a white too, in front of my mom's window...Christine
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful Kim! All that rain we had awhile back really made everything grow a lot! I've had to trim up quite a few shrubs and trees in my yard - I was hoping to only have to do this in the fall!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your garden and your
plant choices are very welcoming.
Come and visit my site as well if you
have the chance! God Bless!!

Your house is gorgeous! and so is your yard!!!! LOVED all the pics. Don't you just love summer?
ReplyDeleteDebbie@houseatthelake
What a great post! I love the Rose of Sharon. They grow soooo fast and drop many seeds in the fall. I brought mine over when I moved from PGH three years ago. They were no bigger then 6" when I planted them and now they are about 4' tall. I have a red/purple one and a white one like yours. Beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteWell this is all looking pretty respectable!! Well done! Lovely, lovely place you have--Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a pretty house and yard!
I love all the blooming trees and that lush green grass. Ours is very "natural" if you know what I mean!!
That is interesting stuff you mulch with, what is it?

Simply lovely!!!
ReplyDeletethe lawn looks great! My husband loves taking care of the grass; the heat usually does a number on it! You're right, the weather has been strange!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Looks beautiful and reflects a lot of hard work. Love your white crape myrtles and rose of sharon. White flowers are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYour yards look beautiful! You are so right--the yards can take up so much time but so pretty to look at afterwards!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cooler weather.
You have a gorgeous yard! I love the flowers on the door. I cannot wait to get my house painted so I can finally start decorating and planting out front. It is so blah right now.

ReplyDeleteIf I had your house, my life would be complete :o)
ReplyDeleteAngex
Everything in the yard always looks so good after it's been trimmed and cut back doesn't it! Your hard work certainly has paid off as your yard looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just keep thinking how I'd be afraid to step in your flower beds for fear of a snake hiding in there! You've done a few posts, talking about snakes! Now that's all I can think about!
What a lovely house!!
ReplyDeleteOf all the photos, I like the purple lone petunia...that is so artistic!!
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday post -Tall Sail Ships Arriving. Lots of photos! Hope you can come take the tour with me!
Very well manicured yard! Look at all that grass! Here in SoFla we try to eliminate grass, takes much to much water to maintain....plus having to hire someone to cut it all!
ReplyDeleteI've been working on Xero Scaping and so far I have only a teeny bit of grass left...
Love how yours looks!
Feels good to work in the yard too!

Your yard looks beautiful-I live in the country-mine will never look like that! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour home is so lovely, and so is your garden! The crepe myrtle is gorgeous. I was just telling a friend that being a gardener is like being in a war. You are constantly battling weeds, bugs and Mother Nature in general. But it's so rewarding when we make a little progress!
ReplyDeleteHappy White Wednesday!
Carol
OMG!! Your yard is amazing. The Rose of Sharon is my favorite and we have a ton in my yard. They spread like wildfire. We've been enduring a heatwave here in CT and the yard is suffering badly.
ReplyDeleteI would love to come and sit a spell! Lovely! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your yard. Your have such a different variety of flowers to choose from than we do here in Ohio. The dog on your porch is cute (almost as cute as your real one).
ReplyDeleteYour home looks beautiful Kim, and wow that lawn! Makes me wanna go out front and clean up the porch ;-) Love the flower pics too and the little black doggy, too cute.
ReplyDeletexxxx

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteYour lawn and the gardens in the front of your house look beautiful!!It's been so hot here we've been spending all our time in our pool.Yesterday it hit 103 and the humidity is just awful! Same temps today too. Enjoy the rest of the week!
Kim, Your home and gardens are gorgeous.I'm a gardener too and would love nothing more but to focus on just that. But alas, our heat and humidity of N FL is taking it's toll already. I am dreaming of cooler Fall weather.

ReplyDeleteKim, what an absolutely beautiful and gracious home you have.
ReplyDeleteYour afters still look really excellent. This time of year in Arizona everything becomes brown and crispy and parched (including me!) so that looks awfully lush to me.
Your spring pictures are breath-taking. I hope you put that lovely home on home tours. It is certainly worthy!
Thank you for linking up to Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "Y"!
