I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours was great, but glad to be home.
I never have shown you my sitting room after Mr. Savvy and I repainted it. I love the new color. It is called Roxbury Caramel by Benjamin Moore and it changes a good bit with the changes in light. Sometimes it takes on a butterscotch color that is really pretty. I painted the doors a dark brown in stead of the black that they were. I have changed the wall arrangements and some of the shelf and table vignettes, too.

This is an old chalkware dog I found at the flea market.
Got this shot at dusk. This room is so cozy at night. Takes on a whole different feeling.

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI love the room. I love anything that suggests English Countryside. My paper in the small bedroom up stairs has the same kind of scenes and it is Ralph Lauren. I can't wait to get the furniture up there and get it looking pretty!
What a beautiful room. It just says, "come on in and sit a spell." It looks like a lovely place to curl up with a good book!
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely collections. I have a similar wall color and I never get tired of it, it's Khaki by RL. Really makes a rich background for everything without overwhelming the other colors. Looks lovely! Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your walls and the idea of painting the doors. My are all white like the crown molding. Maybe I should branch out.lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words left on my blog.
Have a great week!
What a pretty room! Love the color. It is hard for me to pick a color. Everyone says "it is only paint" - but I don't like to paint. :-D

Love your sitting room, Kim! I think this is a great size for watching TV with the hubby. We have a small den that we use and it is perfect for us now that the house is fairly empty now.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! I like the wall color. I also like Joe you added a hunt scene theme, makes the room very southern. Pretty vignettes on the book shelves....Christine
ReplyDeleteHi Kim~~~this all looks so warm and cozy. I could curl up on your sofa and read one of those books.
ReplyDeleteDebbie@houseatthelake
You are so busy that I just don't know how you can get it all done! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI love your sitting room. It looks so warm and cozy. May I ask where you found the cherry cabinet and book shelf?? We are redoing our house, and I've not been able to find a cabinet with doors. The newer ones are all open for flat screen TV. We have painted our walls Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige. I hope it will look as comfy as yours is.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful Kim! I love the horse and dog theme, especially those prints and as a mom to two herding dogs, I really love the little collie figurine!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice 4th of July!
Kat :)
Love this room, my favorite thing, the boots by the shelving unit! Also, the shot in the evening so great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Cottage Quilter, we bought that piece many years ago at a local furniture store and I think it was made by Hooker, but I am not positive.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Especially that chalk ware dog!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great as always! You know what I really like? The black door. I think it's great!

ReplyDeleteKim, I LOVE EVERYTHING about this room!!! And I'm almost speechless because I am planning almost the EXACT same room for my library in the new house!!! I even have almost the same red sofa (in my living room right now, LOL) We have VERY similiar taste!!! I rode and showed horses until my early twenties so it's a big part of my life! I even have the boots and hat too!!! :)
