Lately I have grown tired of the cheetah print fabric on my bathroom stool so I was on the hunt for a new piece of fabric and I found the perfect one.
This is the before of the stool and notice the finish on the stool, too. It has brush strokes of gold on the black and I took care of that, too.
Here is the new look. The color doesn't come out real good in the photo, but I love this toile.
I spray painted the base with oil rubbed bronze. Ahhhh, so much better.
This is the prettiest muted tones of the prettiest very light blue and browns and greens and I purchased it at Hobby Lobby on sale.
I also added a touch of fall in here.
I got those hydrangea blooms at Michael's this week at 50% off and I splurged on the more expensive real looking ones. They had some other puney looking ones.
Now, I need to paint the cabinets some time this year. Fifteen years of wear is really showing.
All I spent for the change in here was $10 for the fabric and $12 for the flowers.

Thank you so much for all your comments. I do read and appreciate each one. I wish I had time to respond to all of them, but I can't spend all my time on here. I spend too much time as is, but I do thank you all.
Y'all come back now,
KIM
I love your toile! I think it's some of the prettiest I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to Hobby Lobby and Michael's today, so maybe I'll see some of the pretties that you found.
Have a great day.

Your bathroom is so beautiful and I love the fall changes. The muted tones and the texture of the toile fabric are so perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the new fabric! Very pretty and yet not overly feminine.
ReplyDeleteKim....playing at this between patients...shhhhhh....
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has that exact same stool...with the same print on it...I told her the other day that we needed to recover it-lol Great minds think alike, huh?
I love your little commode and where in the world did you find that picture above it? It is a wonderful piece of art! Diana
oh my...i have that fabric! i spied it at hobby lobby and knew it would work for a sewing project. i purchased it & made 4 bridesmaid's clutches for my niece's wedding in july. it coordinated perfectly with their sage green dresses w/latte sashes and bronze sandals. one of these days i will post about it (once i get my laptop back from being repaired). i have some leftover fabric...hmm what to do with it?!
ReplyDeletethanks for the inspiration.
judi ;)
Kim I have always been a fan of Toile prints, and had a lot in my last home. I love this look, you are right, much better...we never know that til we do it:) Cheetah and leopord prints are always in, so you can go back if you wanted to again.
ReplyDeleteYou found the perfect fabric, Kim. The look really goes with your bathroom decor, which is gorgeous!...Christine
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is beautiful. The blooms really add just the touch of fall.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Kim, I love the toile too! I must go to Hobbly Lobby soon. Your home is so lovely, your blog has become my favotrite. I always love seeing what changes you are making. Love the hydrangea's too. Hugs, Marla
ReplyDeleteLove that toile fabric! It looks great Kim.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim~
ReplyDeleteI love that toile! The faded colors are gorgeous and it looks so pretty on the bench in your bath! :)
I love toile fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Marla. That is so sweet that you would say that.
ReplyDeleteThe art on the wall that Diana asked about was found at a flea market. One of my readers said it is a grape drying rack and back in the sixties they were turning these into art with decopaged art on the front. I did a post a while back about it.
Kim, the toile is gorgeous. I think I need to get myself out to HL more often. There isn't one close to me, so I rarely go. I don't think about them being a good source for fabrics. Your bath looks beautiful and a nice place to relax.
ReplyDeleteI like the the changes and with your newer art on the wall, it all ties together nicely:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bathroom, love the new fabric!
ReplyDeleteI so love that fabric! Nothing I have seen at our HL!!! My vanity chair is looking quite rough so I will remember this when I get to that room!! What color are you thinking on the cabinets? Knowing you, there is something great going on in your head!! lol
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I love the toile. It looks gorgeous in your master bath....Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love toile, so elegant. Your cabinet looks "vintage" from where I sit and that's a good thing!
ReplyDeleteSusan
Changes make us happy, love what you have chosen..but I love the cheetah too! ;D
ReplyDeleteThe cabinet is not vintage. It is from Home Goods a couple of years ago. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteActually the cheetah is still under that fabric so if I decide to go back I can.
ReplyDeleteReally like the redo!
ReplyDeleteThat toile is gorgeous! I love the subtle changes you made. And I especially love that print of the little girl and dog!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric Kim, it looks so elegant. The flowers are such a pretty touch too. They do have such real looking flowers now, it makes it such fun to use them. Your bathroom is so pretty and I love the size, it is so nice to have room for a chest in there. Lovely. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHello Kim,
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of toile and that is a great print. I think your vanity seat looks so much better now. The hydrangea blooms look great. I love the artwork above the hydrangeas. Is that one of your creations?
~ Tracy
WHAT a transformation! It looks so elegant! LOVE the toile! Your bathroom is really beautiful...I am going to Hobby Lobby at lunch, coupons in hand!
ReplyDeleteHave a great one!
Lou Cinda :)
What a beautiful change! I absolutely adore toile and it looks wonderful on your bench. The flowers are perfect for there! Where did you get the art above your cabinet with the new flowers on it? Love that!
ReplyDeleteAnd I picked a VERY similiar tub faucet for my master bath!! :)
Kristi
the toile was the perfect choice, You know I love a toile in the bathroom. My entire guest bath is black and white toile. Painting it made a big difference. Stools are a fun and easy makeover and they sure can change an enviroment, Kathysue
ReplyDeleteBeautiful with an understated elegance. :) I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh toile is so timeless and I love that you chose a pattern that was a little softer with the muted colors. It looks so good in your bathroom!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love that beautiful piece of toile you found and it matches your picture perfectly! What a lovely bathroom!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Wow everything in that room is gorgeous, that cabinet, that picture, even your soap holder grabbed my eye...and the toile.... yummy. You southern girls are always talking about Hobby Lobby and Home Goods....wish I had those up here
ReplyDeleteLove that fabric Kim! It looks perfect in your master bath. Everything looks pretty as always!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good! I need to paint my bathroom cabinets too. I'm hoping to make myself do it soon!
ReplyDeleteKim-
ReplyDeleteI love your splash of fall in the bathroom, great idea! I have to tell you, I LOVE that cheetah fabric, but the toile is equally as beautiful! The toile gives a more elegnat feel to the room. It's fun changing the fabric from time to time, isn't it? Great job! ~Liz
I swear Kim! I have that very same fabric, waiting for me to make pillows for my "blue room". You have such good taste! :) Love how it looks on your pretty stool!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteFound your BEAUTIFUL blog a few weeks ago and it's become one of my favorites! Love the pretty, yet inviting, comfy look of your home.
My only problem with reading your blog is that I MUST go to Hobby Lobby which leads to spending money, which leads to more pretties, which leads to re-arranging, etc. (Did I say HL is only 5 min. from my house?) :) It's enough to wear out this 61 yr. old grandma.
Seriously, love your ideas--I'm thinking those herb boxes would look soooo good in my craft room.
Have a great day! Penny in Missouri
I love that muted toile, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a grand old time catching up while the little grands nap - I loved the photos of your daughter. She's beautiful - you must all be getting excited!
I just love toile! What a beautiful pattern and colors. It looks so pretty in your bathroom!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is treating you well :)

I love it Kim! The Bosporus Toile is probably my favorite fabric of all time! I can't wait to have a house I can use it in! :) It looks great in your bathroom. Hope you'll be linking up to Vignette Friday's tonight or tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone and that is very sweet Penny in Missouri.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I think the cheetah fabric looked great, but the toile is GORGEOUS! The whole space looks beautiful. Love the wall art and and the chest... it is no secret you know how to score in big ways at Home Goods. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Gorgeous - I love the muted fall colors. Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteSo perfect, everything. I love that fabric.
ReplyDeleteKim it is beautiful and elegant! :)
ReplyDeleteI was wandering the aisles of Hobby Lobby yesterday and came real close to buying some half-off flowers. Do you do this? Walk all over the store picking things up and then put them back? I have a bad habit of doing that. Saves me money though. Toile will never go out of style in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Kim that looks wonderful and suits your style way better too in your bathroom! Love your mums too! Well worth it!
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is lovely and the stool turned out great!
