Last weekend when I was staying at my daughter's I had to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner. On the way to the store I had to pass by an antique mall. Well, lo and behold if my car didn't turn right into that parking lot. Yep, it sure did. Next thing I knew I was in the store looking around. Shhhhh, don't tell my daughter about this. It is our little secret unless she reads this, ooops.
I walked up and down each aisle pretty quickly so I could get back.
Then I spied it!
What is it?
I looked at it and pondered over it. I picked it up and pondered some more. Then I walked away from it.
Like a magnet it drew me back! Yep, it did.
I knew it would be perfect amongst my other thrifty dishes.
Yep, it is pretty darn happy in this spot and it was the perfect touch for fall and Thanksgiving don't ya think?
It made me add a few more fall touches here and there.
Just a few.
I thought it was so ugly that it was cute! Best part it was only $12!
So what do you think? Ugly or cute?
Linking to A La Carte for Linda's first Junkin Finds party. Yep, I think this fits the bill.
Also linking to Bargain Hunting with Laurie for Favorite things party.

Rose, it says Mesa International handcrafted in Hungary and then it says Elkins New Hampshire. The bottom of it shows an edge of terra cotta. It looks like there is terra cotta or clay base under the ceramic exterior.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of ugly duckling with all your pretties. So great with everything else. You did good.
ReplyDeleteIt really does add color and interest to your collection! Beautiful! ♥ I love when our vehicles know the way to go! ♥
ReplyDeleteOkay Kim, I must be really strange, because I think he's pretty! What a find! Your shelves look so pretty, and you're right, he's the perfect addition for Fall. Great find! Thank you for linking to Favorite Things.
ReplyDeleteAlovely color blue. You don't see a lot of pheasant items. They are a fall bird
ReplyDeleteLove the color it adds to your china cabinet. Your other fall decor is lovely also. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat pop of color to your hutch. The small touches of Fall - and those wreaths in a hutch...I am loving it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, honesty sometimes tends to get me into hot water, but I think he's so ugly that he's cute! LOL I think it's his striped tail that is a little wonky lookin'!! All that matters is that YOU like him, Kim! The car automatically pulled into the lot, huh?
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI like it, especially nestled there among your other pretties.
hugs
Sissie
I think what would draw me to it like a magnet is that pointy tail. Like: Here I am, look at me. And I can't decide on its looks. It's either pretty darned fetching. Or it's so ugly it's cute. But either way, it still gets the cute label. I like it!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I think it's cute! But then I must warn you i've had a friend give me a set of desert plates last year and when she was handing them to me she said "I got these for Christmas from someone and I don't like them but I knew you'd love them cause they're ugly". So, then again, maybe i'm not the one you wanna ask if you're pheasant is cute.....but i still love it!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! And, you know, there is just something about it right up next to that green and surrounded by the white dishes...just lovely! Definitely festive for fall...perfect! Christie at Three Pixie Lane

Good evening Kim! He didn't get the one he wanted, it was really light blonde, and had such sharp
ReplyDelete70's edges, really crappy looking if you ask me, but he ended up finding one from the 80's(go figure)which either tied in it's hideousness or was worse. I won out in that case.
Definitely cute.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think it's a fun piece mixed in with all of your white. It looks great, Kim.
ReplyDeleteYep, I vote ~ Definitely Cute! Love the bright colors of the lid and the grass motif on the base. Great find, Kim! It looks terrific among the white ironstone. ~ sarah
