I have this one large tree in the great room, which is the tree we put gifts under, and then I have another tree that I will share another time. Nothing over the top with my trees just pretty traditional with several varieties of ornaments.
This is the view when you come in the front door.
This is a ten foot artificial pre lit tree and the lights already don't work on the bottom section which meant I had to put lights on the bottom part myself. Ugh!
There are a variety of ornaments. This is one of my favorites. It was a gift when I used to work. I love the vintage appeal of it.
My daughter gave me this one. She knew my love of roosters. Isn't it cute. It is part of the Kringle line.
I have brown, red, copper and gold ball ornaments mixed in. The little yorkie ornament is another gift from my daughter the year we got Miss Bailey. Bailey came home with us on Dec. 7 and boy was I exhausted by Christmas raising a puppy! No, you don't see me in the ornament.
For some reason I am fond of snowmen. I think it reminds me of my childhood when I would get to build a snowman when we were lucky enough to get snow in North Carolina when I was little.
Then of course there are the ornaments made by your kids at school. This is my son's probably from kindergarten.
And this one made by my daughter with the teacher's help obviously.
This is another gift from many years ago. It is a wooden drapery ring with a needlepoint piece glued to it.
Do you remember the old coke ads with the polar bears. I like whimsical ornaments, too.
Then there are the birds and nests tucked here and there.
And some branches with fruit.
Here is the view from the catwalk.
The top is adorned with just a traditional angel. I would probably do something different if I could reach it easily. I do all the trees by myself except a certain someone does pull it out of the closet and put it together.
Your tree is beautiful Kim. And we have some of the same ornaments like the curtain ring cross stitch. Very special :)

ReplyDeleteKim~ The tree is just beautiful. I love all your ornaments that all mean something to you. I haven't decided yet whether I am going to drag out all our ornaments again this year..or go with a simpler red and silver theme. I guess it depends on how motivated I feel after working all week. Hugs-Diana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I love the angel, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a big tree! It looks great with your high ceilings. I have a tradtional tree also and mine is full of meaningful ornaments.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty. How nice to see it right from the front door :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! That tree just screams Merry Christmas! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteAngie
I think that a tree in a hall is so beautiful and welcoming!
ReplyDeleteI love your tree! Trees with different types of ornaments that hold special memories are the best of all. I hate it when the lights go out like that. Worse yet, is when they go out after the tree is already decorated. And no... I didn't see you in the ornament, lol. You're too funny! Thanks for sharing your tree and beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteKaren
Wait a minute. Are you in a robe? ha ha I don't know why I'm laughing, that's me 24/7!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very pretty tree. I love all of the different ornaments, the best are the kid's handmade gifts!
I finished my tree and Eve is certainly going to take you back to your childhood again.
Take care,
LIsa
Your tree is beautiful, Kim! I love the view from the front door!
ReplyDeleteLove the piknic that's so cool, along with all the other pictures..sadly I didn't see one ornament that we share I was sure I would Twinny...maybe on the other tree?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I felt like I was reading a post written by me! I have a 10 foot tree too with nearly the same angel on top. Mu hub puts it together and I do all the rest. Your wood floors look like mine too, mine are solid dark stained hickory. How fun for me to be even a little like you..admire you so much! ;D
ReplyDeleteI so very much love handmade ornaments . . . especially those made by children. They are such a little snapshot in time. Those moments go by so fast!
ReplyDelete"Nothing over the top" ...Are you kidding me???? That is one AMAZING tree!!!! I love the large size of the ornaments in keeping with the proportion of it as well as the delightful collection of vintage ones. The polar bear in the Coke machine is especially cute.
ReplyDeleteYou have an incredibly beautiful home, Kim & I just love coming here to see it again & again.
Your tree is stunning Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love your ornaments too!
Cindy

It is just stunning! It is so grand and striking! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha! I see you in your robe. Too funny. Your tree looks beautiful. Love your colorscheme and all the sentimental ornaments on it. It's such a big tree! I bet you do have trouble reaching the top. I can barely reach mine and it isn't as tall as yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tree KIM. I love all your ornaments of sentiment. PICNIK is addicting, watch out, it really is fun!
ReplyDeleteI love your tree! Isn't it such a chore to put up those 10 foot trees. Mine isn't prelit so I ended up with 1100 lights!! I would like a pre-lit but until someone can prove to me that only the bad lights will burn out and not the full section, I'm sticking with what I have!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the ornaments because they have memories tied to them. That is how I like my tree! Beautiful!
It's just beautiful, Kim! I love a traditional tree, full of memories and love. :)

Kim your tree is so beautiful and BIG! I love that you put those wonderful sentimental ornaments on your tree too. They are so special! My husband mentioned getting a bigger tree and I was like, no thank you, since I am the tree decorator. I bet you have to use a ladder for that one right? I hope you get lots of help! It sure is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful tree Kim!
ReplyDeleteOur Hallmark tree is the one the kids and g'kids ornaments are usually on. I didn't do that tree this year. I am running out of steam quickly for some reason!
Your tree is just lovely Kim. I have some of the ornaments my children made to but they are up north. Your room looks so warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous and it looks great in your home! I love the windows in your living room too btw! What a picture perfect scene!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim your tree is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Gail
Kim your tree is wonderful! I love all of your ornaments and the special meaning behind each one. We do the same thing with our family room tree and it's filled with ornaments from when my children were little and in school too! I love that your guests get to see this as soon as they come in your front door, what a wonderful way to welcome them! I can also relate to the puppy at Christmastime exhaustion...what was I thinking?! lol
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Beautiful. I like the variety of ornaments you have on it. And the little Miss Bailey ornament is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteKim, your tree is stunning. That view of the tree and the room from the catwalk looks like a photo shoot for a magazine! laurie
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI typed up a long comment and it was not posted because blogger was down. UGH!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! I love it.
Kim your tree is just stunning, so pretty. In fact, your whole house is! Gorgeous in the kitchen too, you really have a great way of putting it all together, talented lady! Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat is some grand tree. It's just beautiful. Sounds like your "Certain Someone" is similar to "The Man" as far as decorating goes. When we had to replace our old faux tree a few years ago (it was not pre-lit), he insisted on a pre-lit one. Reason being, he hated watching me struggle with the almost 1,000 lights I would put on that old tree. Now he can get out the box & set the tree up & walk away, guilt-free (well, in his own mind anyway). I think I'm a bit picky about the placement of things to even want him trying to help. Can you relate?
ReplyDeleteCAS
What an awesome tree and a beautiful home!! I love your yorkie ornament. I also had a yorkie named Bailey! He was my little love bug. We have two yorkie ornaments on our tree as well:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view when you walk into your home. Your Christmas tree certainly takes center stage. I love a Christmas tree filled with memories!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous, but that first view of your tree from the foyer is stunning!!!
