Well, not my new look, but my blog's new look. Did you notice it? My blog header has been the same for almost a year. I wasn't going to change it because I had read in two blog books that suggested that you get a header and keep it so when people come look at your blog they will immediately recognize the blog. Obviously I have changed my mind plus I wanted several photos that I feel represent what my blog is about instead of just one.
The community of blogging is so awesome. If it had not been for the help of a fellow blogger I would still have the same header. I have to give a huge thank you to Brenda of Cozy Little House. She has spent countless hours yesterday and this morning putting my header together.
As you can see she loves color in her home like I do.
When the season is right you will most likely find her in her wonderful garden.
It you haven't visited Brenda's blog before you are in for a treat. She is the one that welcomes new blogs on Fridays with the welcome wagon. She does the work for us and locates newbies and then tells us about them.
This was a very friendly gesture she did for me!
THANK YOU, BRENDA!!!!
You are the best!
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend,
KIM
Post edit: Brenda emailed me and she is typing out the step by step instructions on how to do a header like mine and it will be posted tomorrow on her blog.
Kim! This is so crazy!!! I just came to your blog to ask you how in the world do you get your header to stretch and be so wide!!!! I can't figure it out for nothing! Then I see this post! So crazy!
ReplyDeleteI love the new header!! I change mine sometimes too, I don't think it's a big deal. I will be checking out Brenda's blog now too.
ReplyDelete-heather
It looks awesome! I love it! And any reader will still know instantly that it's yours. Enjoy!

I love to see header's change, especially with the seasons. Her home is so cozy looking.
ReplyDeleteI love your new header, it's beautiful! And Brenda is the best!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Brenda is a sweetheart! And I love your new banner! She deserves some praise for all that she does for so many! Enjoy your day, girlfriend! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love your "refreshed" header; it still looks very much like your blog. I would love to do a similar composite of images to better represent my blog, but have no idea where to start. As I'm sure you know, there isn't anything available in blogger design to do this--did you end up writing html? Any advice would be helpful! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love your new header.... glad to see Bailey is still in it too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with All that Glitters. I have been wanting something similar, but I'm still a tech newbie and can't figure it out for the world, so I just keep using the freebies that I find.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I love your new header. Of course, I love everything about your blog.
Have a great day!
I LOVE the new header!!! Very pretty!

ReplyDeleteI like the new header! And Brenda's blog is great. I had to laugh when I opened up your blog right now though, because just about an hour ago I did a post on not knowing what to do with my blog design.
ReplyDeleteYour new header looks great and captures what you blog about. It's nice to have a change every now and then. I spent hours designing mine so am reluctant to change it, but maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteI like the new header, and I am so glad your little doggy friend is still in it. Don't take him out, he is such a cute little friend. Love your blog and your great decorating ideas. Thanks for sharing so much and hosting the party each week. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet of Brenda. She did a great job. You are right about the world of nice bloggers.

ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled you have an image of one of your furniture pieces in the new header. I always think of your lovely painting of furniture in association with this blog. Well done to you both!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Yes, I had to keep miss Bailey in the header. Mr. Savvy didn't even want me to change it because he thought she would be left out. Not.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim-
ReplyDeleteI love your new look. I think it is fun to change things up every once and a while. I recently learned how to make a header and enjoyed the process. Glad to see you kept miss Bailey in,
My best- Diane

I do love Brenda's blog. Hers was one of the first blogs I found...and got hooked. Thanks a lot, Brenda.
ReplyDeleteThe new header looks great, Kim. I've been struggling to get a look for my blog on my own -- a lesson in frustration! Perhaps this new year I'll take the plunge and get some help. Now I'm off to check out her blog!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header...and I think it says more about YOU and all that you are about. It is also "cleaner" looking and fresher. Perfect! Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love your new look and header. I will be sure and go check out Brenda's blog. I'm excited to see it.

Sissie

ReplyDeleteLoving the new look. I too am after a new header! It really can set the tone for your whole blog - well done! liz
ReplyDeleteOh I knew it was your blog as soon as I saw your cute Yorkie :) Your new header is exactly what I have been trying to be but cannot figure it out. As a matter of fact, I total messed up my blog yesterday, trying to create one. Thank goodness, I had it backed up!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the secret? Can anyone share, pretty please for us newbies?
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI loved your old header, but this is wonderful change! I am so ready for an update too and hopefully will get it finished soon...blog header rules..who needs them!?
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' the new header! Brenda is great, too!
For you newbies or computer challenged like me all I know is she took the pics I sent her and then she put them together in picnik and then used photoscape, too.
ReplyDeleteKim ~ your header is beautiful. It's a wonderful change and I'm sure everyone will enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMarianne
Kim, heaven forbid we'd left Bailey out, I can see! Please let everyone know I'm doing a tutorial to do all this on tomorrow's post. For Picnik and Photoscape. We will all do one together, step by step.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Love your new header Kim....Brenda is a great gal....I love her blog and she is always helping other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteReally like the new look and glad Bailey still has a place in it also. :D I also am a fan of Brenda's blog.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I love the new banner!! Brenda is such a wonderful friend. She spent several hours with me on the phone when I first started blogging. She is one in a million. By the way, my mother-in-law is named Leila too. Such a pretty name and one you don't hear all that often.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Susan and Bentley
xxoo
Woo Hooness, Kimmie! Your new header looks marvelous and it does look like you! About changing headers, if you visit BJ at Sweet Nothings, I think she changes her blog out every other day or so!! :)
ReplyDeleteBrenda has such a lovely blog and I love her colors too! How nice she posted about you!!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love the new look.
ReplyDeleteBrenda is such a sweet lady. She really cares about helping others. I love her home as I do yours.
I do like your new look and header! I need to find some pictures that actually have the feel I am looking for and so far nothing is working!!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is a real happy new year for you! Looking forward to what you will be doing this year!
It looks great Kim. I'm looking forward to seeing those directions of hers. I have a terrible time with it.
ReplyDeleteLove the new header. Very classy...or should I say savvy!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim...this is my third attempt to comment, I have been sidetracked every time LOL! Love the header. Really you read you are not suppose to change it? Well I never follow the rules therefore how many changes have I had?
ReplyDeleteWell, the thing that is funny is when I use Google Reader--which I now do frequently--you don't see the header, just the article you have posted!
ReplyDeleteI like the new look, but I always liked the red couch with Bailey on it too. I am glad you kept a picture of her. I had a lady tell me she would help me do the same thing, I just haven't got around to getting it done. I have got to get that Christmas picture off of mine.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I did a doubletake when I clicked to come over to your blog! Then I saw Bailey and knew I was't lost. LOL! I love your new look. Good job on both your and Brenda's part.
ReplyDeleteI love the new header. I just made a change on mine too. I had been wanting one with multiple pics and finally got around to doing it. Brenda is a doll and such a sweetie to create the header and post the how-to on her blog. What I want to know is how to get the links under the header? Don't know if Brenda will address that but I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Jane
Hi Kim-
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great.
I switched my look lately and who knows- I may do so again!
You are an inspiration to us all,
Laura
White Spray Paint
Kim, the blog looks great with the new header! Brenda has some talent whipping that together for you. How sweet of her. I really enjoy her blog too.
ReplyDeleteKim, that looks fantastic!! She did such a good job!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header Kim, Looks fantastic!! I just started my blog this past week and wanna add some pictures just need to figure that out.
ReplyDelete~Allyson~
I am so glad you kept the dog in the header, I just love seeing his sweet face as I visit you! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your new header. And am glad you kept Bailey in it too. It looks very professional now.
ReplyDeletePS: I have struggled with my header ever since I started blogging! I just can't seem to get the dimensions right or figure out the collage thing. Collages are not easy for me! Anyway, love your header!
ReplyDeleteI believe my header is just like my home,
ReplyDeletealways changing, ever evolving, and hopefully getting better and better.
I strive to keep the same "feeling" at all times on the blog ... keeping the colors uniform and the "style" of writing, etc. But I did chose to go to the dot.com to raise the bar a bit.
I know you're pickin' up what I'm layn' down, because you do a lot of the same!
Your header rocks my dear new friend.
The puppy is so sweet.
Nice job, Brenda!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog's new look! My little blog's a little over a year old now, and I've never really had a header. Maybe I think about finding someone like to Brenda to help me out - since I don't have a clue how to do it!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to check out Brenda's blog . . .
I like the change and it fits your style perfectly!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Kim!
I like your new header! New, fresh but still YOU! Brenda did a great job!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited that Brenda is going to do a tutorial on this look. I've been wanting to do something like this, but my every attempt was met with frustration. Argh!!! Yours looks really good, Kim. Can't wait to change mine.
ReplyDeleteCAS
I think it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look...you are just changing everything!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Kim! Me likey!
ReplyDeleteLisa
I love the look! I need to update my look. I've been changing only for the seasons...but, I keep thinking I'd like to have a "signature" header...maybe just change on section for the season. I can't even keep up with my reading, much less change things!
ReplyDeleteLove your new look! Kudos to Brenda.
ReplyDeleteChange is always welcome.
