Bench Tutorial
Sorry I am a little slow getting this tutorial posted.
I used an oops primer from Home Depot that is a blue gray and Alexandria beige by Benjamin Moore, but mixed in Sherwin Williams paint.
I hope you can see in these shots where I brushed on the gray primer in several places and then the
beige paint in several places and even overlapped the paints. I still left some small areas of green
showing. I wanted to give the look of this being weathered over time.
Here is another shot of the colors being brushed on in various places.
Then I mixed black paint (Sherwin Williams Seal) with glaze. Mix four parts glaze to one part paint or less paint if you don't want a lot of color.
Here you can see the glaze going on. This is what really gave the bench the deeper gray color.
Do a small area at a time and them wipe it off with a damp rag.
Here you can see how the black glaze stays in the crevices and imperfections of the wood.
This was really pretty easy and I love the way it turned out.
Just remember there is no perfect way of doing this and it is only paint. If it isn't right it
can be painted again.
This is who I spent the afternoon with yesterday.
They change so fast!
