I am so glad I took some pictures of this vignette while it was sunny out this weekend because it
is dark and cloudy yet again. Sunshine please come back!
I haven't shown y'all this little Christmas present to me from me.
I purchased this from wisteria.com when it went on sale.
What I really want is this bull head to go over my stove in the kitchen, but they won't put it
on sale. I'm not paying $229 for it plus shipping.
So then I saw this and thought it would be a nice addition in a vignette. Mr. Savvy
thought I was crazy when he saw it. Men!
I thought to go with my new piece of wildlife that I would add a few rustic touches.
I threw in a plant, real antlers, and a twine wrapped book into this grapevine basket.
Love all this texture.
My favorite lamp that I purchased at a local store called Tennile and Co. when
it was on sale at half price.
I have a weakness for lamps and I love this one in this glazed brick red with these
twisted handles.
Playing with effects.
So what do you think about adding a little wildlife in your home?

I love it Kim! I have two deer that I bought a few years ago at Lowes. They are perfect to leave out all year round. I like the added touch of the wild and your vingette just screams yummy texture.

ReplyDeleteI love Wisteria, their outlet is in Dallas, come over for a visit... bring a van. Love the deer too!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your vignette. Only you could make antlers look so chic and elegant. Love it! Oooo, and love your red lamp.
Hugs and Kisses,

That's a dear deer Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love that you 'threw together' your vignette...I'd end up with an untidy mess. Looks great :o)
Love all the texture in your vignette. That new deer is great. Liked the bull head too. I'm working on centerpieces for my kids school auction...the theme is Running with the Bulls so I can really appreciate that bull head right about now. I'm trying to stitch printed bull heads on burlap as part of the display.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I adore that deer, beautiful! XOXO ~Liz
ReplyDeleteReally like your new little piece of wildlife--so organic! The red lamp is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Susan
LOVE that lamp! ...and I really like the nature pieces too. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove it and the red lamp! Now I have a true weakness for lamps. I would hate to count how many I actually have. Much less the shades! I think it looks fantastic, Kim. You have a wonderful decorating eye. We all need nature in our house after this horrid winter.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Ooooooo...I want a lamp like that!!! I like shiny!! (my dad said I was a racoon in my previous life...ha)
ReplyDelete♥ Becky in SC ♥
Kim, it all looks great. Love the red lamp and your vignette is full of texture and interest. What do men know? LOL

My husband is a hunter and my house is full of his sh,..tuff. About 12 ducks, an antelope, a bear rug, a caribou, musk ox, mule deer, white tail deer,...lets just say,..if I could, I would send it all to you.
ReplyDeleteHey, Kimmie! This looks good too!
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty red lamp! Yummy!
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
The whole vignette is beautiful I adore your new purchase...he is wonderful! I have a Wisteria addiction! I'm waiting for a delivery right now;)! My husband has even suggested I move to Wisteria...do you think he is being mean;)?
ReplyDeletePerfect! My husband is the same.. he doesn't know he likes it til he sees it. lol :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the new addition Kim it's perfect for this vignette.I really LOVE that bull head too, but I wouldn't pay that much either. Martina
ReplyDeleteGreat post Kim. What a coincidence that my post for today was about incorporating faux animal heads into our interiors, take a look: http://www.sasinteriors.net/2011/02/faux-animal-heads-for-your-interiors.html

This looks great Kim!! I love adding wildlife into my decor. The deer is a great addition...what do men know! I'm always arguing with my husband about what looks great. Love the deer antlers..I have a set as well!
ReplyDeleteThe lamp is beautiful , very french country!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of real antlers with the fur on them just like yours. I have actually used them in a vignette but I hid the fur. I was afraid someone..well would think Bambi. LOL Now that you showed yours I will have to be brave and put them on a tabletop and walk away.... And let them be trophy pieces or whatever the men see in them. They do make quite a statement.
Sherry
The deer is just beautiful, the whole vignette is! I love Wisteria, I like to go to their website to see what is marked down. I have never bought anything expensive from them. I think my husband would like to see a little bit of wildlife in our home. He freaked out when he saw that I had put some candles next to his 'man chair'! lol.
ReplyDeleteSnowing here again!
XO,
Janie
I think I need some wild life!!~ I love the lamp, it gorgeous!!~ Nice vignette Kim.
ReplyDeleteI loooove the lamp, those handles on it are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis was such an inspiration I just e-mailed my SIL and asked if her hubby (the hunter) finds any shed antlers that he doesn't want if I could have them!!!!! I LOOOVE your vignette and the new deer! Love that bull too but way too expensive:):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYou aren't crazy, I love it! You know I'm a bit odd about the antlers on their own...but I love them attached to a body:)
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm missing so many of your posts. My lack of sunshine low energy and researching info for the in-law situation is cutting into my blog time. Don't let me miss anything special...okay?
It looks good, Kim. I think that is a gazelle maybe? I love that she is half-risen. Men don't get it (most of them anyway) - I hardly ever show MrK anything until he notices it on his own...lol...less fuss that way.
ReplyDeleteI like Wisteria too but you are right to wait for their stuff to go on sale. Some of their stuff has crazy prices. AND...I JUST LOVE that red jug lamp! Perfect shape and color for your setting. Hugs-Diana
Kim this looks amazing, you have such amazing taste and a real gift...I love the rustic deer...I also am feeling inspired to get some antlers..
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely eye candy and inspiration.
Blessings Kelsie
Love it, Kim! Pretty vignette...Christine
ReplyDeleteI love that lamp Kim!!! And of course the beautiful gift you gave yourself! I don't have much wildlife in my home but after seeing this post I'm thinking I should go get some!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Beautiful vignette! I love all of the natural elements!
ReplyDeleteI love you vignette! Don't you know not to listen to men!!LOL
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a good thing we don't always listen to our hubby's? We'd never have anything interesting in our homes! Love your display and all the different textures. The lamp is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that vignette. I never thought that I would like antlers in home decor but they are really growing on me.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't believe how much "wildlife" I have in my home! LOL! Wild Russian boar head, bear skin rug, bobcat, of course deer, a coyote pelvis, bear and boar skulls, buffalo skull, and of course it wouldn't be Texas without a longhorm. LOL! So, I can appreciate a little wildlife in a vignette. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have wanted one of those bull heads too, for above the stove.
ReplyDeleteFor years now, I have dreamed of that bull.:-)
Kim I love your present. I love that bull also, however the price really is a little steep. Your vignette is gorgeous. Love all the textures also. So pretty on your gorgeous chest. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLOL.. as you know, I have PLENTY of wildlife in my home. But you're talking about decorating accents - in which I think you do a stellar job. You know, I've always loved a zebra accent piece.. like an ottoman or just one big chair with ornate wood scroll, or a rug - but have never had the guts to actually DO it.
ReplyDeleteLove the bull head - I bet you could approach that site and tell them you'll blog about their products if They will give you the bull in return.. or atleast at a discount!!
I think it goes quite well with everything on your sideboard. That lamp is gorgeous. I have a thing for lamps too and Joe says we do not need any more but I have a closet full of spare shades! Hey we have sun today♥
ReplyDeleteLove that lamp Kim, I have the same affection for red brick anything, but today that Grand of yours had my heart!
ReplyDeleteLove your vignette, especially your gazelle statue and that gorgeous lamp. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe shape and color of your lamp is beautiful. Good Christmas present, Kim. The gazelle is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCAS
Hi Kim...
ReplyDeleteOhh my gosh...I love your gazelle!!! And...it looks fabulous in your new vignette! Yes, I love all that nature and beautiful texture that you have going on! Such eye candy, my friend! Thank you for sharing your new pretty with us!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
I have a bull head just like that one but made of cast iron. I found it at a huge flea market in Canton TX in a booth of imports. It was less than $30 and I have seen them a couple of times since so I know it was not some rare object. If you know of any stores or flea market booths that carry a lot of the cheap iron imports, you may could find one.
