A couple of weeks ago I decided to order some botanical prints from ebay and then matted and framed them myself. Here are a few pictures of more changes in the dining room.
I thought six would be the perfect number here. I have always admired a gallery wall of botanical prints and now I have one. All done on the cheap, too.
These prints were from five to seven dollars apiece. Then I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the frames for half price and the mats. I had to use two mats to fit the frame correctly.
This is another surprise change I made. While sprucing up the master bedroom I decided to take this bench out that sat at the foot of our bed. I was tired of Mr. Savvy complaining about bumping into it in the middle of the night. So out it came. I am loving it added in the dining room.
I had painted the legs white a while back and then distressed them. They were a bit bright so I brushed some mocha glaze on them to tone them down a bit.
This pot was on top of my kitchen cabinets and I decided to use it in here and popped my tulips mixed with dried hydrangeas in it. I guess you noticed the yellow chairs are back in here, too.
With the bench being moved to here I also brought my buffet lamps in here with the matching fabric shades to the bench. The bench and lamp shades are from Ballard's. I love this new look with these walls.
I purchased two of these little green artichoke vases at a local decor shop several months ago. Placed my brass bird next to one of them for now.
I have ordered another red flower to frame to replace the blue one I have up there. The blue
one doesn't fit the frame correctly so hopefully the new one will. Then I will have three yellow and three red flowers.
Hope you like the changes. I love them!
Have a glorious week!
KIM

ReplyDeleteLove the room...the lamps look great.
ReplyDeleteLove everything Kim but I have to say my two favorites are by far the bench in the dining room and the yellow pitcher/vase on the table. I ADORE the bench and am such a sucker for unique dining seating! And that pitcher is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteAdore your dining room gallery. Being from Kansas, I LOVE Sunflowers, thank you for enlarging it's picture...ah, be still my heart! We had the same 'ol problem with our bench at the bottom of the bed. We took it to the lower level dining room and it really opened up the room. Amazing how chair backs can block your visionary view from across a room, isn't it? I'm coveting your new vases. . .lovely! Thanks for sharing!
Fondly,
Pat
Kim, I love how your bench looks in the dining room! I have a bench (a wooden one) at my kitchen table and I love it! And your botanical prints are beautiful. My mom always had gorgeous botanicals in her dining room, and I really like that look. The touches of red and yellow in there make it perfect for spring and summer. The end result is priceless!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
