I planted this late last summer after the flowers I had here croaked. I wasn't sure what to replace them with and the guy at Home Depot highly recommended these. He said his mom had them and that they grow easily and can take our heat.
I believe I planted five plants here last year and look how they have taken over.
I love how it is growing over the rock wall now that Mr. Savvy built a few years ago.
Here are a couple of shots taken in the morning after a rainy night.
Can you see the water droplets?
Now I am going to go get some more of these to plant in some other places in the yard.
This stuff is going nuts!
Enjoy your weekend and have a very Happy Easter!

Wow! That's so pretty! I really need to plant some Verbena. Our neighbors across the street have some in their beds and it always looks so pretty. How many plants would you say you planted to fill that big of a space? Looks great!

That looks similar to the Homestead verbena that I put in three summers ago. It did really well, but this past winter, it must have gotten too cold. I still have some but not near the amount I had three years ago. I need to replant. Yours is beautiful. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Easter,
Babs
Hi Kim-
ReplyDeleteI love purple verbena and plant it every year as it only grows as an annual here in Pa. It never comes back for me. I wish it grew here as it does in the south.
It looks beautiful.
My best- Diane
Oh my... it's beautiful, Kim!
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful Kim. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Kim! I'm going to have to get some of this. Hopefully it grows well in Kentucky. Do you think you could just transplant some of yours? Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Kim! Your home is as beautiful outside as it is inside!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Kim, This is beautiful. This is fairly easy to grow but what you have is exceptional. I have never seen it grow like this. Evidentially you have the perfect soil. Really this is amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a joyous Easter. Ginger :)
unless you want another color, you could just take a bit of these for other places in your yard. Where ever you live, these love it and are like weeds if they already look like this early in the season.
ReplyDeleteOh how glorious.

I have the exact same Verbena planted in my flowerbed and it has gone crazy. My poor Nandina are being taken over by it! But is sure is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have tried all colors of verbena and the purple is the only color that really grows like wildfire! Tiff
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! That is my favorite color flower!!! I love the way it looks in that bed there.......it is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
Your Verbena is just beautiful, Kim! I have some but it doesn't look anything like yours! I love the way it's flowing over the brick wall. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteKim- WOW! What a beautiful display of flowers! Can you believe it? Are you out of town a ways? For some reason, I always asssumed you lived in a town subdivision...if it is it looks like you have a lot of green space! Love the water feature along the drive! Diana
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that looks so beautiful! What a great view you have with the flowers and the pond :)
ReplyDeleteI want some of that! It is gorgeous...I love that color and the fact it spreads. Still too cool to plant anything here...but this is going on the list for one of the flower beds.
ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous yard Kim! Your flowers are really doing well!
ReplyDeleteKim, I think I'll add some to our garden if it can take the heat. Love this mass of color!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! ~ Sarah
Well I know what I will be buying next! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLacy

ReplyDeleteI love those!!!! Happy Easter Kim!!
ReplyDeleteWhat are they KIm?? They are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, Kim!
ReplyDeleteEaster Blessings to you and your family.
Gorgeous Kim...I think you've found a real winner for your climate...I think its difficult to find things that survive the hot southern summers.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend and enjoy your family!!
Hmmm...something that is easy to grow and comes back every year...I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI love large groups of the same flower....Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! I planted 3 Homestead Purple Verbena perennial in my front bed last year & they took over the bed. I cut mine back in the fall & covered them with a thick layer of mulch for the winter as I did not know if they could take extreme cold. I was so happy that they survived. I did move one to the back bed & mine are just now getting started. I have never found them in any color but purple. Definitely my all time favorite flower.
ReplyDeleteI love it...looks so very pretty! Have a wonderful Easter with your family♥
ReplyDeleteOh yeah that homestead verbena is a trooper in the garden!! Looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ... love the pic with the water droplets. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteJust in time for Easter! Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Susan
Gorgeous! I love flowers (in case you missed that from my blog!) I'm goint to have to get me some of these. I'm all about anything that spreads and comes back yearly. Those are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteKim, thanks for the reminder! My mom planted some verbena for me years ago. It thrived for years with no attention. We live in North Central Texas and it is really hot and dry in July and August. I think I will get some more!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your yard and your home! We have finally found and purchased our family home in Charleston, SC. The "move in" day isn't until the second week of May, but you've got me planning my garden now! Mr. K will thank you for that.....heehee

ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful!!
Do you know if it blooms all summer ?
I LOVE it!!
Hi Kim!! These are so beautiful and have a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Kim, your verbena is so beautiful. I have some red verbena that I planted last year that is beginning to bloom but your purple verbena is much prettier! Our roses are blooming. I just put up a new post showing them. Come have a look.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Kim you just gave me an idea for one of our back gardens! Martina
ReplyDeletewow thats amazing. Verbena comes in pink too, right? And maybe white? I am jealous of that lush patch!!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love verbena too, it grows well here in the south.
ReplyDeleteHey, I did put the wrong date, I meant to say next Sat. the 30th, so hope you can still make it & yes, feel free to put it on your blog too. Would love to meet more fellow bloggers here in ATL.
I love purple. Thanks for sharing your verbena. Did they ever spread. Hmmmm, I know a place in my garden where they would look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Isn't it great when a beautiful flower goes nuts and not the weeds!? Happy Easter!
ReplyDelete~Delores
Beautiful, love the rich purple color -
ReplyDeleteKim, it is prolific here in Georgia. You know it also comes in red and a pale pink too. Happy Easter. ♥O
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, WOW! Your Verbena has a mind of its own. How gorgeous it looks sprawling all over your flower beds. The color is beautiful! ~ Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeletethat verbena is simply gorgeous.
Love the color!!
Happy Easter Hon!
blessings, Nellie
I love how this looks. I think I need to plant some of it. I'll check it out the next time I'm at the nursery.
ReplyDeleteLovely, just lovely kim! Only in the south!Hugs
ReplyDeleteHow I just love verbena....it is simply gorgeous! I try to plant as much of it as I can since those pesky deer won't go near it!
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
Your verbena is just beautiful, and I am wondering what state you live in? I am in Wisconsin, and have GREAT difficulty growing this plant, or having it survive our winters. Do you do anything special, to make it thrive? I don't have a green thumb, so to speak, but I do want to grow verbena, no matter.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am in Georgia and didn't do anything to this plant, but stick them in the ground. They came right back as soon as it started warming up here.
ReplyDeleteWow - gorgeous colour and what a healthy plant(s). I hope you had a happy Easter Kim.
ReplyDeleteHello Kim! I love looking at the flowers. They are so refreshing especially when there are pictures of the tiny droplets of water. They are pieces of heaven's nature on earth. Happy Easter!
