They live in the most wonderful neighborhood that is just a very large circle with houses on both sides and it has no traffic and lots of deer just roaming around. I can pull down the driveway and deer will just stand there and not run.
The house sits way off the street and is nice and secluded.
This is looking back towards the street.
This is the view of the family room from the foyer coming in the front door.
You will notice that she has lots of nice antiques throughout.
This is the sofa she wants to replace with a gorgeous neutral one from Ethan Allen.
She purchased this sofa at a local consignment shop three years ago and is just ready for a change.
Bailey is enjoying the sofa.
This is the view from the breakfast room. As you can she my mom is an avid reader unlike me.
Lots and lots of books.
Love this tobacco basket.
Very old clock.
Antique drop leaf table. I remember this in our other homes growing up.
Chair that matches the sofa.
I took Bailey with me to play with my mom's cairn terrier, but they didn't play too well together.
She saw deer running off from her in this shot.
Meet Co Co.
I will share part two soon. Figured this was enough photos for one post.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Kim

Thanks to everyone who has asked if we are alright from all the storms here last night. We were very lucky to have the storms pass to the north and south of us.
Your Mom's got a beautiful home, Kim! I love that sofa and matching chair {and the other chair off in the corner, too}! I think the animal print was calling to Bailey. : ) Your Mom's shelves look like mine would be {if most of my books weren't packed away for our anticipated downsizing}. I love having my books around me. Such a nice big room, too.
ReplyDeleteThis was just beautiful! CoCo is adorable as well as Bailey. Thanks for sharing I look forward to part 2.

You're right, Kim. I do see shades of your Mom in your decorating style. Her home is lovely and the setting is just well....just about as perfect as any I have seen. Love the view back to the street from the house.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see what the decorator comes up with for a sofa for that room. What else is she doing in there...a whole room redo...or just bits and pieces? I love that she is a reader!

Hello Kim! I love your mother's house starting with the location. I don't often see houses with the trees and greenery. I live the city so views like this are a piece of heaven to me. The interior and the furniture are so classic, posh and elegant yet looks so homey and comfy.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the decorating apple didn't fall far from the tree! Both of you have such style! Can't wait to see more....

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty home. The outside is equally as beautiful. I love the sofa! I'm wild for animal print. Can't wait to see her new set.
ReplyDeleteHer home is gorgeous and I love how secluded it is. Kind of reminds me of our road except ours is dirt and gravel ;)
ReplyDeleteThese pics turned out great! Did Mom repaint her living room in a cream and her dining room in a yellow? It looks like it, but maybe I'm just seeing things.
ReplyDeleteHey! I also noticed that the picture over her mantel is new. I like it ALOT better than the mirror she had. Did you help stage her room for this photo? I see a few things changed. It looks great!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't touch or stage anything. It is the way she had it.
