I was looking around and found two old solid wood bar stools that I should have gotten, but didn't. After we left my husband said, "I thought you were going to get those two stools?" Oh, yea, I forgot! My memory is not worth a flip. Maybe when I go back they will still be there. I want to get a hold of them with some paint. I didn't think I was going to find anything and then I saw it. My new little trinket had to come home with me. Mr. Savvy kind of thought I was nuts, but this little guy is so country French.
Here is my new little trinket. I think she looks good here on my chest in the great room.
Only two dollars. Not sure if it is worth any more than that. It says made in Brazil on the bottom and some number markings. It also says gift. I think it may be a vintage chalkware carnival prize that I have heard about.
Let's take a look at the whole vignette on this chest. I have had one person mention that she noticed my great room had been changed. Martina is very observant. When I shared the vignette behind my kitchen sink she mentioned that the great room was changed. How she could tell from what very little showed in the photos I will never know. That girl is sharp. Did y'all notice that this chest is on a wall and not behind the red sofa anymore when I showed y'all the new paint job on this piece the other day?
Before I found the new little bull/cow I had this little bird in that spot.
O.k. the authorities say it is a cow.
shells, starfish, vintage doorknob and fork fill this silver bowl
This shows where the chest is placed now. This is my new vintage basket from another flea market. One handle is missing and the one on there is broken, but that just adds to the charm of this old piece. Only $20 so why not.
the basket is filled with vintage grain and flour sacks and a vintage Italian throw
I will share the new layout in the great room soon.
Have a good one,
Kim

I love your little bull. He would go so good with my new little sheep, so if it goes missing you know where he wandered off to. Love your chest on the stair wall, it is perfect and your vignette is beautiful. Great basket and linens also. You always find the most beautiful lamps. They are always so hard for me. Very pretty. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely vignette, Kim. I love love the little bull. You know how we love cows/bulls around here!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! I love your new little treasure too, but do you think he's a bull? I don't think bulls have utters! LOL The head looks like a bull but I see a mommy milk bag! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful chest and love where you've put her and love what you've put on top of her!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Well, Sheila, ya know that is confusing isn't it.
ReplyDeleteSheila is very observant. And she does have a good point. But that doesn't change the fact that it is so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the chest on this wall. I think it balances the clock perfectly. And having a lamp there probably helps bring light to that area.
Smart move. Literally!
The cow is darling and fits right in there with all your eclectic collections.
ReplyDeleteThe new trinket is so cute Kim. I like what you have done with the chest, moving, painting arranging.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT LOVE IT Kim!! The chest looks perfect against that wall and love the vignette you created on top! Ha you can't get one by on me Miss Kim LOL!! Martina
ReplyDeleteThe chest looks great there, Kim! Love the vignette and your new little trinket fits in perfectly! Let us know if you go back and get the stools.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I think your "he" is a she Kim, I see utters ;) In any case she's a beauty. The perfect fit in your Southern Decor.
ReplyDeleteHmmm your cow does have "bull horns" I went back to look, a mystery of nature, horns and utters do not mix ;)
ReplyDeleteMooooove over birdie, there's a new cutie in town. Your style is so pretty, I love just dropping by to gaze and sigh.
ReplyDeleteMoo moo I love you!

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteHe is so darn cute...thanks for showing him off at my NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY...it's great to have you here:)
Blessings,
Linda
Hey girl- That is a COW-no Bull! lol I could tell by the "udders"...any udder(other) cow with no udders is a bull! lol
ReplyDeleteThat being said, she looks great in your vignette. I don't think it is chalkware because that is not usually marked and she looks too fine to be chalkware (unless it was a very good piece)...most of them are kind of dull looking and feel chalky. Whatever she is-she is darling.
Love your basket too. I have my grandmother's basket and I keep the girls throws folded in it so they can pull them out to snuggle and watch a movie.
Have a great night- xxoo Diana
Love the cow!!! I would have bought him too!! And for $2...so much nicer than a starbucks!
ReplyDeleteI love your little bovine-boy or girl. It looks perfect on your chest.

You need to visit my blog and check out the old posts on all my vintage Steers' items. Thanx for sharing, Tiff

ReplyDeleteA lovely vignette, Kim. I especially like the basket!

ReplyDeleteI pine away for the silver bowl and champagne bucket! LOL! I love. love. love that whole area, Kim. Every pieces looks perfect. BTW, that is definitely a cow. ;) Take it from an old farm girl. I'm thinking you may make a shopper out of Mr. Savvy yet. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous vignette! I can't wait to see the rest of the room!

This has to be the cutest, most thrifty purchase you've made lately, Kim! She is "moo-ti-ful" in your vignette. I am quite lucky that Mr. S likes to come along with me on my forays. He spots things I miss! LOL

I saw this quote on a sign at Bizarre Bazaar in Richmond, VA a few weeks ago, "Shopping with my husband is like hunting with the game warden". Love it!

Your little cow is perfect. I have my grandmother's laundry basket...never really thought about sitting it out. Hmm...maybe I should!
ReplyDeleteI love the little cow/bull :) Perfect touch of 'whimsey' there! Also like how you filled the basket -- now don't we all have stuff like that laying around the house?! Now I know what to do when I have an empty bowl or basket!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I wanted to drop by again to say thank you for joining my Open House party. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.
