First thing I did was buy some white tulips. I love white tulips and they have not been easy to find this year. They also were asking $12 for them and I wouldn't pay that. Then the other day they were $5.99. Yes, I will pay that.
I added two of my white pitchers to the mantel filled with the white tulips.
I stood back and looked and still just too blah. So let's tweak it some more. Hmmmmm.
Let's add some vintage red books and my little ceramic dog with a basket of flowers.
On the other side let's lay down two vintage books and set the plant on top of them.
Then add my crackled bunny. Bunny says spring don't you think?
Much better. Just by adding some different highs and lows it looks right to me now.
Just used things I had from other places in this room.

Looks very pretty. I love the white pieces you are using -- the contrast is wonderful against your dark fireplace. Gotta love white tulips! Also just peeked at your new little table. Is there a reason the paint is called chalk paint? I'm guessing it has something to do with the texture. Love the distressing. Now I have to go peruse your party.

You nailed it perfectly. I love all tulips. At my old house in my old yard I had planted at least 600and brought many bouquets in during the spring. Now I share my yard with deer (something totally new to me) and learned the hard way after planting at least 200 the first fall that deer like tulis as much as I do. I'm learning to love daffodils. Happy spring - - mantel!
ReplyDeleteOn my next trip to the store, I'm definitely buying tulips. So pretty! I love the chippy bunny and the little dog. Cute! The whole mantel flows very nicely.
