Isn't it a beauty? Big, clean and white. It works perfectly and it was on sale! The beginning price wasn't bad, but I got it for $22. I couldn't believe it. Yes, it's mine and let me run and pay for it before someone realizes their mistake.
This is my new sign I bought. I was looking at Joss & Main the other day when an email alert came up and these cute signs were being sold. At first I had planned on using this on the wall with some other items where my cow canvases are. Then the canvases came in and they went on that wall instead. This is not as big as I thought it was going to be anyway so I placed it in this stand.
This is the way the vignette looks now behind my sink. I never know whether to say in front of or behind when it is like this. If you are interested in joining Joss & Main you can sign up through my invite on my sidebar. Great discounts through this site and signing up is free and easy.
I have had this old Southern Living at Home lidded jar for several years. It can be used so many different ways.
I used to have this rooster lamp in this spot for quite some time and then had moved it to the sun room. Well, he made his way back into the kitchen again. I love lamps in a kitchen. Just makes it more homey.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE lamps in the kitchen, I agree it does make it seem more homey.
You have such great taste. It absolutely makes my day visiting your blog.
Michele
I adore lamps in the kitchen! Are you kidding? Me and overhead lights just don't work. Besides, my house is dark to start with. Love your new finds too!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Hi Kimmie! Oh, I love your new scale! It is in excellent condition too! You know how to do things right! Love your little Rooster sign!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is gorgeous.
be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
I LOVE lamps in a kitchen, Kim! I actually finally put one in mine after a year of blogging and seeing everyone else's. I decided to just go for it and it's perfect for just having a light on when we are in the other room watching television. I also loved it on in the mornings this past Winter when I'm up at 6 and there is no sun yet.
ReplyDeleteLove your rooster sign! It looks great in the stand.
I LOVE that little scale Kim! It's fantastic! You could put a little basket on it and weight your little dog, hehe!!! Thank you for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Donna
You better have run and pay for that scale. That was a real bargain!! I do have one lamp in the kitchen that my hubs just shakes his head and says he doesn't get it...but thats ok...I like it!!
ReplyDeleteOh my... that scale is a true honey! I've used a lamp in my dinette area just off the kitchen for quite a few years. I like the soft light it gives when I'm making coffee in the morning when my eyes are still half closed and don't like the harsh overhead lights yet. It lets me wake up nice and easy.
ReplyDeleteCeekay, what do men know!
ReplyDeleteDonna, Bailey is a wee bit to big to weigh on that scale. She weighs over 15 lbs. She's a big girl.
That scale was a great find Kim and a great price. Your vignette looks fabulous.I think lamps look great in the kitchen too.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen vignette looks wonderful! I have a weakness for scales too (mine aren't that clean). Very cute sign and I love a lamp in the kitchen too. I have one that I made out of an old silver coffee pot, it's perfect for the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful upcoming weekend.
Jane
Kim, Thank you for the comment.
ReplyDeleteWe do wash the slipcovers every few months but some of it is stained...like when my little girl got ahold of a permanent marker. LOL
My hubby bought me a sewing machine last year and I still haven't learned to use it...everything I have sewed has been by hand, I am no pro LOL
WoW~~I have that exact same scale onLy it's a bit rusty. I bought mine many many years ago ♥ Thanks for sharing your beautiful *stuff*
ReplyDeleteLove your vingette! The scale is in excellent condition...you had a very good day. Thanks for sharing. Luv-Loretta
ReplyDeleteGreat deal on the scale. I love lamps everywhere, so homey. I have some on timers and some plugged into the light switches.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen scale is so cute and fresh looking. I would just sit at the table and smile at it for a while... then weigh random things and smile some more.

ReplyDeleteReally great finds! I love the scale. I just put a lamp in my kitchen and it really does cozy up the space.
ReplyDeleteLacy
Looks great! I like how the scales have the colored foods on them. Your new sign is perfect. I've never had a lamp in the kitchen. Of course the kitchen is all just one big room with my dining and living room. I hadn't thought about putting one on counter, but now that I like the counter...may have to think about it.
ReplyDeleteI love your new scale. I just have the one, but would love to find more! And your vignette with the new sign looks so pretty and has french country style written all over it!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
I always love seeing each and every post you do! Love them every one! The scales are terrific! But so is everything else pictured!

ReplyDeleteI love your little lamp! Your scale was a great deal.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen counters are so pretty. Is your sink black and if so, are you happy with it?
I was thinking of putting one in.
Yes, it is a black granite sink and I love it. I had a white porcelain sink before that scratched easily. This sink is indestructible.
ReplyDeleteKim I'm not just saying this. I love your kitchen wish it where mine. Love the finds you did good have a good night
ReplyDeletePattie

I too love lamps in the kitchen.....I have 3 in my little kitchen...as a matter of fact my husband says I have a lamp fettish...LOVE me some lamps...think I'll head over to joss & main and sign up! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy mother had a scale that was almost identical to that! Love that you found one.
ReplyDeleteI have that same sink only mine is in the deep tan that matches the granite countertop. I think we have the same counters too! You have great taste!;>) Love the vignette you have set up and I DO like lamps in a kitchen!
I'd never heard of Joss and Main before. I just joined. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLike your new little scale, Kim. Perfect to display so many things on its top. I started looking for my faux lemons and limes last week, but have misplaced them.... That is the problem with having too many things. I have a red lamp on my kitchen counter. I have used a lamp on my counters since we had our first house. The relatives thought I was weird.... LOL
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the soft light of a small lamp in the kitchen. The scale is great and I am looking for one at every estate sale I attend. Have a fabulous weekend. ♥O
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds! Old scales are one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
Loving the lemons! They are so fresh for spring!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I visit your blog, Kim, I am wowed by your beautiful home! I love the colors in your house so much. I'm a fan of vintage scales as well. I found a baby weigh scale from the 1950s that was used in a Dr.'s office. It is one of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love those scales! I haven't found too many that I can afford but I haven't been out looking much! Love the vignette in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a great find....the scale is neat!
ReplyDelete"lucked up"... that's fun, I just might have to borrow that!!

Such a lucky find! And I adore lamps in the kitchen too, and still have my white Christmas lights on the baker's rack. I don't think they're ever coming down, because we all love them! Your new vignette looks great, like everything in your home.
ReplyDeleteLove your new scale and your vignette. It is fabulous. What a great find. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour finds are divine! I love scales too, just not the ones we step on. Your fruit jar reminds me of my son & DIL wedding reception, the tables had really tall column vases filled with lemons. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLamps are fabulous in any room but especially in the kitchen.
Fun finds...I have a "bit" of a scale problem. I actually have the exact same one that you got...and just today I was going through some stuff my hubby brought home from an aution and there was another one! Hmmm...to keep or not to keep? ;) Laurel@chippingwithcharm
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! What great finds! I love having lamps in my kitchen too and actually have 2 of them. At night, or on a dreary day, they are just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Inspiration Friday! :-)
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Beautiful! We are in the process of getting granite, and I think it may be the same granite you have. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI love your old scale! But my favorite of course is your bonjour sign and the rooster lamp.
ReplyDeleteI have a rooster lamp in the attic waiting for a makeover. I am looking for the perfect shade for it because I think I am going to spray paint it black or red!
Hi Kim~
ReplyDeleteLove your scale - such a sweet find! I just saw a vintage baby scale the other day at the thrift store- it was darling! Love the bowl of lemons on it too- so charming! Thanks for sharing at my party! :)
Hello Kim! The weighing scale was a fab find! This is the first time I saw your sink and as expected I saw lot of beautiful things. I love your faucet. The lidded jar is also nice. And how can I forget your tulips and your nice mirror in your previous post!
ReplyDeleteOh Honey! Do I love me a lamp in the Kitchen. We currently have 3! :) Your scale is darling!
