Bookcases and Wow Us Wednesdays #16

I'm ready to reveal the new color on the bookcases, but not sure you can see a huge difference in my photos. The before was a very harsh stark extremely glossy white and they had become chipped and scratched over the last fifteen years.  So to cut time by not having to sand and prime I used my trusty chalk paint in Old White.

I put together this side by side so you could see the difference in the shades of white.  The top is the new soft vanilla color and the bottom is the old harsh white.

Changed a few things around on the shelves, of course. The large clock that I had on the bottom shelf has been replaced with my rooster tray from the kitchen.

On the other side.

I really wish y'all could stand in this room and see the difference with the new color.

Mr. Savvy loves it. I didn't distress them since the mantel is already distressed. I did try it on a door and it just looked dirty so we decided to just keep them clean. They are waxed with clear wax.
