We purchased this piece several years ago when we toured Italy.
This whole piece is nothing but solid wood pieces that are inlaid by hand.
Such intricate details are created by these artists. I just loved this one of this lady sitting by the sea with her shoe kicked off.
This is in the guest room. I took another gold frame and just painted it white then hung it on the wall and centered two ironstone platters.
This is also in the same guest room. I took a painting that I purchased on sale at Home Goods for ten dollars and painted the frame and picture white and did some distressing. Then I mod podged a piece of burlap to the picture area. Glued some flat trim around the edge and attached a painted letter to the front.
That is three different ways I have used frames creatively.
Enjoy the weekend!

I hope blogger fixes things soon. Followers are gone from most blogs then this morning mine were back and then poof they were gone again. Oh, and they are back again.
All are so pretty. What an interesting piece from italy. That was a perfect way to display it to show all the details. Such a talent to be able to create a pic out of pieces of wood. You always have such great ideas.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful reuse of the frames. I particularly like the one with the letter "N" inside.
ReplyDeleteBoth such clever ideas - and I like the framed platters best of all.
ReplyDeleteI love those framed platters..all of the frames look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Memorial weekend.

I love using a blank frame to surround a vignette. That looks great Kim and the green paint is so soothing, kathysue
ReplyDeleteThey're all great ideas, Kim but I like the one with the Italian inlay best. The white frame really makes the art "pop". It gives it so much more presence. Would you believe I have about 10 frames in my closet? :(
ReplyDeleteTake care,
