Anyway, onto the post at hand. A couple of weeks ago when I went to the flea market and purchased the three vintage pots that I showed you I also bought this other potted plant mainly for the container. The plants are bromeliads and I hope they do well, but if not I have a pretty container. Here are some changes made to my sideboard in the foyer.
This is the container of bromeliads. There are several in this pot. The guy said they were grown inside so that they would do well inside. He said they just need some good light.
No problem with that here. We have lots of windows and plenty of light coming in.
I love the handles on this pot.
Of course when I added the new plant then other things had to change here, too.
I added this stack of vintage books and set a magnifying glass on top.
I then added this bird picture that I had put away upstairs in the storage room. One of these days I will show you my junk storage room that is filled to the rim. Please don't call the Hoarders show.
I like the added layer by leaning the picture against the mirror.
Love the patina of this container and the design. Not so sure I love being stuck by those pricklies.
Y'all are probably sick of me changing things, but that is what I do and why I started sharing my changes with this blog. Just think how tired Mr. Savvy is. He just rolls his eyes!
Do any of you have a clue who is coming by for a short visit? They will be on their way to her friend's house not too far from me and they go right by my exit to get there so I get a visit from her and her husband and kids and even the dog. Bailey will be so excited, too.
Enjoy your week!
Kim

I love that planter. I can't wait to hear how you do with the Bromilades. I am always looking for an easy plant to have. I am sure your stash is incredible. I love that you shop your house! I can't figure out who is coming but it sounds like so much fun!

Kim this is a lovely vignette. I love the plant and the planter. The books adds depth. Thanks for sharing, and I've learned about this indoor plant too! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Kimmie! Now I wonder who's coming to see you? :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Just gorgeous! I love the bird print. The pot is pretty too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
My guess is Debbie from Debbiedoos =)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Andrea. I think it's Debbie. Won't you ladies have fun!
ReplyDeleteLove your new planter, it is wonderful and I really like the black color and the black lamp. Beautiful vignette. I also like your sister's porch. It looks fabulous. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOoh....love suspense! and the bromiliad too! I have a ton of them and they are the easiest plant in the world to keep. Let them dry completely between watering...and don't let the soil stay super wet in that container. Doesn't look like there is any drainage.
ReplyDeletebtw. Most bromiliads only need water dripped into the center of part of them, with an occasional wetting down of the surrounding soil. Hope this helps!
Holding my breath for you this week!:)
Your new container looks great, Kim, as does your rearranging. The plants are so pretty, they might be worth a poke now and then. I'll guess--Debbie of Debbiedoos? Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great container and I love your new arrangement, Kim! Those books are wonderful and I love the added magnifying glass to the top of them.

Kim love the new container. I really think the pop of black looks great in your entry. How fun to meet up with a blogging friend. It is like no other experience I have ever had. ReplyDeleteThis is a great post for Tabletop Tuesday. So pretty! I like the bromeliads. They remind me of Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors!
ReplyDeleteI already know who it is! She and I chatted and she gave me the scoop so I won't give it away! That is one sticky plant there! Be careful! I love that lamp. I don't think I have seen it! I am sure I have, but I don't remember it!
ReplyDeleteLove the new display Kim! I would have guessed Rhoda except that you just had lunch with her awhile back. Hmmmm....not sure.
ReplyDeleteKim you have some smart friends out here!~ Can't wait and we are looking forward to it. Lucy can't wait to meet Bailey and perhaps even get a picture near that beautiful pond. Love the new planter too, cool plant.

ReplyDeleteI never tire of your decorating so don't stop sharing with us. In fact your green guest room (the first version) is my inspiration for my bedroom right now. I have been painting all weekend. Hope I can finish this week.
ReplyDeleteThe plant holder is a lovely addition, Kim... The plants look lovely !!!
ReplyDeleteI knew it was Debbie! Your new changes looks wonderful. Love the planter and the stack of books. Have fun with your get together.

Love the Bromeliad and the container! Great changes Kim. I am working on the dining room sideboard. Sort of stuck, maybe need a trip to the lake to get rid of the brain cobwebs!:-)
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure I know who you are meeting.
A dynamic environment reflects a dynamic person. Don't ever stop changing things up.

I know who it is!!!! It's Debbie!!!! Y'all lucky dogs!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the planter, but crazy bibliophile that I am, I was immediately drawn to the books. A stack of old books like this always makes a house feel full of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteAhhh I love it all!!! I've been a follower for a while now, but noticed your post on Marty's TTT. I love the vintage books, the beautiful sideboard, the magnifying glass, and the tin for the "whatever the plant was called..lol" I had to laugh when I read your 'don't call the hoarders show' I have blogged a couple times about that..LOL I feel that's me most days when I get into the organizing spirit!!
ReplyDeleteANYWAYS! I love your vignette...Have a wonderful day!
Isn't it funny how changing one small thing causes us to have to remodel the whole room??? I'm not sure my husband even notices any more.
ReplyDeleteMy sister does great with bromeliads - I can kill anything! Hope yours thrives but you will indeed have a great container. Love love love your books.
Thanks so much for linking up to my party.
Rhonda - who votes Debbie too
Love your new Planter, the lovely Old Books and that beautiful cabinet it is sitting upon! *swooning* Your Photos of the vignette are fabulous!
