Since we do not have a basement on this house everything had to go somewhere so the poor bonus room was the only place. Here we go. Close your eyes or run!
This is what you see when you look to the right from the door.
Look at the storage boxes we bought after Christmas. Do you think I have attempted to use them yet? Of course not. What I really need are some shelves.
This is the other side. Anyone need a rug? How about an umbrella stand? Or extra mirror parts that we don't need?
Flower arrangements, vases, baskets, extra chairs, sconces.
Lampshades that I have switched out.
Exercise ball that use to get used.
Now some of this stuff will be used again, but a lot of it needs to go to the consignment store and Good Will.
See the bottom of those two movie posters on the wall. This room used to have sofas and chairs and we watched our giant television up here back in the day.
Do you think the box is getting a good work out?? I used to walk two miles a day before blogging!
Used to use the bow flex, too. Now it just sits there. The tarp at the end of the room under the window is there because Mr. Savvy finally replaced the rotten window. Now he needs to clean up his mess. How dare he mess up this room!
Brass sconces that really just aren't my style and here they sit.
I do use these urns and bowls when I switch things up.
Look at all the pictures I don't use any more.
Alright I know you probably scrolled back to the top of the blog to see if you were at the right blog. Yep, this is my ugly side. I told you that you may want to run. I do keep the part of the house you see neat and clean usually. Just don't look behind this door or behind closet doors.
I will be doing some major purging soon. I have already been cleaning out closets and have carried several bags to Good Will. Might as well let someone else wear things we don't anymore.
Someone please tell me I am not alone. I know many of you are very organized and some are semi organized and some not at all. Which category do you fall in?
Hope you will come back and visit again after I just scared you off.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
KIM
Joining The Tablescaper for her two year anniversary party and the theme this week is Where Do You Keep It All Part 2
See I told you there was a party to show this off.
I almost didn't publish this.
Kim, Kim, Kim...you are SOOOOOO not alone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping it real Kim! My bedroom closets are the places where all my junk, err ah stuff, ends up, so you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, it would be fun to shop in your bonus room! LOL!
hugs
Sissie
Kim, this is not bad at all! My junk room is much worse. I too would love to shop your room!
ReplyDeleteSnowflakes beat me to it. I was about to ask, "Can I go shopping at your house?" Yay, you're normal! You've made my day. After my 40 hours/week on a day job, blogging, antique shopping AND my cottage cabin fixer-upper I try to fix up and that's mostly fixed down than up right now, what time is there to organize and clean??? LOL! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving us some reality. You should see my teen aged son's room.
ReplyDeleteGarage sales, I hate em, but I have heard of blog sales, you price stuff with a price and ship it. Those two mirrors would look great as inside shutters on either side of a window.
ReplyDeleteI have a suspicion the majority out there have a room/garage/storage room, etc. like that and possible multiples. My guest room is the worst right now. I started decluttering a while back and that is where just about everything has landed so far. You have lots of company out there. :D
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your weekend.
Glad I'm not the only one! When people tell me how organized I am, I feel a little like a hypocrite knowing they haven't seen my "off limits" room, packed full & a complete mess!
ReplyDeleteOkay Kim, I am chuckling here and if I was at home I would go upstairs and take a picture of the "studio".;-)
ReplyDeleteYour room is so similar to our bonus room, it is uncanny. When we built the house we asked the builder to add a bonus room above the garage so that every inch of space would be used, "efficiently".
Well...I was painting back then and dubbed the room the studio. Along the way, when we redid a bedroom here at the lake we brought home the iron bed and the room evolved into studio/extra bedroom. Then we gave Gabi the vintage bed and it all went downhill from there.
I keep the things up there that I may use again. The basement is for Christmas storage and "Mom's Boutique", as my daughters lovingly call the basement.
So there ya go, we have look alike rooms, on the darkside of the house.
Great post!!
Hilarious! I must admit though that I am not a hoarder in any way. If I haven't used/worn it in 12 months out the door it goes - either to charity or I sell things on ebay. Think of the extra space you'll have once you've given the room a good sort out and tidy up. Happy purging! Ange
ReplyDeleteAt least it is only one room. I think I have junk throughout my entire house that I need to purge.
ReplyDeleteNope...you're not alone!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHa yours is clean and organized compared to mine. I keep thinking I'm getting ahead and all organized and then it just all gets away from me and I think I need to call TLC's buried alive. I see some pretty good stuff in there, hope you don't get rid of the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteMegan
You are so not alone. ;) I have a basement and wish I didn't as everything ends up there. That and my extra room was starting to fill up. I'd open the door and flashbacks of the hoarders shows would flood my mind. I'm halfway there to cleaning it up. It's so easy just to....close the door. ;)
ReplyDeleteOther beat me into wanting to come shop your room. ;)
Ok well first off that rooster pillow really needed to leave with me yesterday. I would have bought that from you, I love it! Some of those items I remember from RMS days, LOL! Goodwill will have a lucky day Kim when you walk in. Hope you are not too tired today from your other work.
ReplyDeleteLove this post!! I laughed and laughed! You are not alone! Reminds me so much of some of the areas in my home. And please don't worry..I'll be back, you didn't scare me off!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for this post! I say thanks for keeping it real. Best wishes. ;-)
ReplyDeleteKim, I don't even have room to have all that stuff. So what I have is languishing at the side walls in the two-car garage with two cars! Your room, if you don't need the space, is serving a purpose. I have let my house go terribly in the past few weeks. My kitchen floors are sticky. And I HATE that! Don't worry. You're NOT alone!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Of course you are not alone. Our basement guest room/exercise room always seems to be in upheavel. I don't have as many accessories, but that is where hubby tends to put stuff when I ask him to bring it to the basement. Funny enough we worked on some of it today!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I agree with the comment that I would love to shop your room.
ReplyDeleteOh...I have one of these rooms too. It's full of storage bins full of xmas and halloween. I don't put my decorations in the garage because it's not climate controlled and I don't want things getting ruined. Even the tree has to stay back there. Because the last time I stored a white tree in the garage in it's box when I opened it - it was yellow! So now the tree stays inside in a corner covered with plastic....very pretty. Oh...I wish I had a basement.
ReplyDeleteLast week I took about 10 things to a local antique mall and they were very happy to buy them. They were things that just were in the way that I would not use again and yet they were very nice but too big to sell on Ebay without a hassle. I don't know about strangers coming to my house so didn't want to do the Craigslist thing. Anyway, the guy I sold all to was more than happy to put in his store. People were interested in them before I even walked out the door. You should try that....take your things to a local antique and decorative store and see if they want them.
As for those side mirrors...I wish I was closer...I have just the spot for them...I think. An idea immediately when I saw them.
Your room looks better than mine...and mine has a treadmill in it too!
I definitely need to purge. I want to have a sale and then donate the rest, but the covenants in our neighborhood will not allow it.... *sadface*
ReplyDeleteKim I am posting later tonight my where do I store it all and I have a basement and it is NOT PRETTY! I call it my work in progress. Now my 'dish closet' has been organized and I am happy with that but I have things sitting everywhere waiting to be sorted, organized in some of those empty bins (yes I have them too) and put in the basement. Since blogging I have so much stuff but I must admit I love it. Thanks for sharing your 'dark' side! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteKim, your room is not that bad! I would love to shop your house.
ReplyDeleteOh-I think that is in pretty good shspe for a bonus room! You can exercise and sort at the same time! That box doesn't look like it has used the old treadmill in a while...he is looking a tad bulky to me!
ReplyDeleteI am semi-organized...most areas-except the one storage area in the basement never seems to stay tidy...and then when the kids are here I don't fuss over the house either-like I did when my own kids were little.
Have a great weeked-xo Diana
Well Kim, you're not the only one, I have two rooms like this! You just had the guts to show it!! hahaha...nice weekend! FABBY
ReplyDeleteHold on Kim...I'm on my way with the truck!!! I really need half that stuff. Did I say "need"? want, yeah, I really want half that stuff :) Let's see, how many miles from the southeastern corner of Texas to Georgia?????hummmm??
ReplyDeleteKim you are NOT alone!! I was so happy to see this because now I don't feel alone! We have a storage room that's right off our master bath. It's a huge unfinished room that like you I put all the "stuff" I buy and then decide not to use. I keep telling the hubby we really need to get in there and clean it up a bit, but know it's getting to hot in there. I would LOVE to come and shop in yours Kim:) Martina
ReplyDeleteKim I wish I had a room like this. I have named your room,Kims' Prop room. You should see my garage, no you really shouldn't I don't even want to see my garage. It is utterly shameful and I pretend it is not there most of the time. My car has not seen the inside of the garage for over a year, need I say more,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had the courage to show us. I think we all have areas like this. Frankly, I'd love it if myine was this organized. What does that tell you?
ReplyDeleteI think this post is a hoot! I think we all have a space that we are not too proud of.... In my house it is the office/ironing room! I just keep the door shut. Avoidance is a great coping technique! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, and I agree with Debbie. I want the rooster pillow :-) It is wonderful!!
Kim, I'm going to join the line of those who want the rooster pillow. LOL I think we all have closets full of stuff. I have one walk in closet that constantly needs reorganizing. I get it all cleaned up, then before I know it things begin to pile up on the floor. Guest bedroom closets ~ all full. I need to purge too. That was my goal for the new year, but here we are 5 months later.
ReplyDeleteYikes! ~ Sarah
Glad to see I am not alone. Y'all are cracking me up. OH, and my closets are full, too. Yes, just close the door.
ReplyDeleteOh no, you are not alone, Kim! We should do a linky party called, "The Ugly Side" and everyone can show off just how human they are! : ) I do have a storage basement, but it's small and the hot water heater and boiler are down there. I have a small attic space that is really off limits in the summer because it is so hot. I did get rid of quite a bit two years ago when we first went on the market and packed up some other things Unfortunately, though, you're right, since blogging, I've brought way too much into the house again!
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel so much better now. Everyday I look in my master closet, which is 200 sq. ft. and get very scared. It serves as a closet for clothes, catch all for junk, overflow for anything else, Some days I can't walk in it. Than there is the guest bedroom closet and if I ever showed you my finished basement you would faint...remember, I have two boys and I collect everything under the sun. Before my boys I actually had one of their rooms and called it The Staging Room...yes, my house really scares me! And yes, we should do a linky party called, "The Ugly SIde".
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
Kim you are definitely NOT alone! We have an attic. Need I say more? Oh yes - and a double garage that has never seen a car other than the 1957 TR3 that is in a thousand and one parts. You are my soul sister!
ReplyDeleteI've seen worse.
ReplyDeleteMuch worse.
Not to worry...you have lots of company!
:)
Sometimes it is nice just to see, that what people show is not how it really is all the time. Makes the rest of us feel more normal. Thanks for sharing that and I know a Consignment shop (Here in Roswell) that would love your stuff ;) I on the other hand would love to help you make more room by taking those Pottery Barn Chairs out of your storage ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so realistic!..maybe we should have a linky party, and scare each other weekly, teehehe. You certaintly ain't by yourself. I have a utility that would make the hair stand up on end.At least your stuff is nice stuff.
ReplyDelete~Jo
LazyonLoblolly
Loved this post. I would shop your junk room, too. Mine isn't just in one room. It's under the beds and every closet. Most of mine definitely is JUNK but it all has sentimental attachments. I keep most of it hidden pretty well. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think we all have rooms like this one....most probably have a treadmill too!! I am lucky enough to babysit my Granddaughter who I take out in the stroller everyday - so my treadmill has become a storage bench for my shipping supplies!
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a room like this that you can store things, put some of the not-so-pretties (ie exercise furniture) and work on projects. Glad you showed us your room, and I bet a lot of other fans of yours are too =)
ReplyDeleteEvery inch of space here is used so it's fairly orderly. However, I DO have a basement and it is a desaster! Let's face it, if you're a creative person, you need space for your "stuff."
ReplyDeleteBest,
Susan
We Americans are so spoiled and wasteful aren't we? I can't tell you how many times a year I take boxes full to Goodwill. *sigh* At least I don't throw them in the garbage.. I share, but still. WAY too much stuff.
ReplyDeleteDi
OK...this is it ! You have FORCED me to show the REAL UGLY SIDE OF ME.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't show ANYONE in the world what I am about to add to my post...but...I can't have you thinking that your room is BAD. 'Cause it "don't come close to mine, sistah".....:))
And, I would LUV to pick out all the things I saw in your room that I LOVE.
Now....where IS that camera?????
What can I say, but ditto to so many others...you're not alone! We've all got those rooms, closets or attics. We can relate!
ReplyDeleteLol I love all the work out equipment not getting used,.. my elliptical is down in my basement now not being used...My basement is my storage room
ReplyDeleteKAT
I love it, love it, love it!! And I thought that box was definitely looking slimmed down after using the treadmill. Lol! Thanks for being so brave Kim and helping us to feel not so quite alone in our hoarding. :-)
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Oh no you are certainly not alone! I tell myself I'm cleaning when I vacuum, clean bathrooms, etc. but what I need to really do is purge, purge, purge! My son's old room is even worse than your room....I wouldn't dare show it! Well maybe I might if I ever get around to turning it back into a guest room!
ReplyDeleteXOXO!
Judy
Don't worry, Kim. We all have a junk room!
ReplyDeleteAre you by any chance going to consign that needlepoint rooster pillow (seen in the 9th picture from the top)?
If so, I will buy it. I live in Atlanta. Let me know if it's for sale!!
Christine
(christine.m.case@gmail.com)
Pffh is that all you got?! I can beat that! ;o)
ReplyDeleteWow Kim! Thanks for sharing!! Your house always does look perfect....great to see the other side of it too!
ReplyDeleteOh sweetness, that would be my version of organized lol
ReplyDeleteI am working on getting organized enough to purge...My 3 next week daughter needs her own room, so mummies junk has got to go.
Blessings Kelsie
Love this.....reality is great! Thanks for sharing! Every light has its dark!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I don't think your junk room is ugly at all. Looks pretty good to me and I see some great stuff in there and you know what? I'll help you out. Just let me know when I can come pick it all up! LOL
ReplyDeleteOf course you're not alone! And thank you for posting those pics. At least now I know someone REAL owns this blog site, hahaha!
ReplyDeleteKim, When I closed my tea room/Cafe/Gift Shop I had just moved to this house and was not even unpacked. I had boxes almost to the ceiling (and I have 13ft ceilings) with little trails throughout the house by the time all the stuff from my shop came in.
ReplyDeleteHoney, I no longer have that but I certainly have a basement and another room where I'm still trying to sort through! It's so overwhelming I sometimes become immobilized!
I can't begin to tell you the truckloads of stuff I've donated or sold! Still plugging on ...
So the answer is no...you are not nor never will be alone...
Blessings, L
Christine, I hang onto my pillows and switch them out. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWhen u have time, come back over and see my added photos..:)))
ReplyDeleteAin't it all fun !!!
Yes! Yes! Omg! Thank you for this post. I have a room just like this complete with framed pictures leaning against the wall and unused storage bins. I need to clean it out but I'm dreading it. Maybe I should get pregnant again so my crazy nesting instinct will kick in. Ugh, you are soooo not alone.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love you!!!! I have a room like that too. It's hard not having a basement.
ReplyDeleteGirl you should see my garage and attic. But, I see a bunny that needs a rescue. You have some GOOD junk! Wish I lived near a GW you donate to. One man's junk.I have way too much stuff I need to get rid of also. Thanks for sharing (it is just reality for creative people)
ReplyDeleteHa! You can't scare me! I have seen worse-in fact just five minutes ago when I looked in the laundry room-or was it the hall closet! It could be either or maybe both!
ReplyDeleteAaah man, you were brave. I didn't show my garage.. its a two car but only one fits.. that is where the sewing stuff is stored. the dishes have taken over the house.. LOL.. It's really not that bad. Everyone needs to have a place to put things.. Yours actually looks very good! many blessings, marlis
ReplyDeleteKim your junk room looks pretty clean to me girl!
ReplyDeleteSorry to say, but you're not alone. Glad you don't live near me or I'd probably end up buying some of your stuff at Goodwill! I'll bet they love you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou cracked me up, I could have said these exact words myself, only mine is all in my garage. You cannot walk from the front to back... well you can but it's a bit like an obstacle course. I say get some shelving and make that your staging room.
ReplyDeleteI'm semi organized, I think anyway! Except in my basement, last year I sold at our annual yardsale and made $600.00 but it didn't even put a dent in whats down there! Mr.K complains about it once every so often but I just ignore him:) No you are certainly not alone!!!
ReplyDeleteRondell
Kim, I just had such a good giggle when you said you used to be more organized before blogging... oh, so true!!!! I too have a fluffed side that I show but there are other areas in my home that are worse for wear because of blogging! I say that blogging is a real slice of my life, but only that, a slice. I don't show it all.
ReplyDeleteYou brave soul...you are NOT alone!
If I showed my basement I would die of embarrassment.
If I come to your home could I "shop" in your bonus room? I found at least a dozen things I would LOVE!
So much fun!
Yvonne
Thanks so much for bearing it all. It's so true that we were more organized before blogging. I know I used to get a lot more sleep! LOL! But it's so much fun, how could we stop?!?!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to have that bonus room. You just need a day when you'r feelng inpspired and I'm sure you could kick it into gear in no time.
Thanks so much for coming to the party and sharing!
- The Tablescaper
You cannot imagine how much I want to just hug and bond with you right now!! I'm also a hoarder with seemingly straight rooms ~ but WHOA....when you hit our upstairs gameroom!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHappy PS!

Oh honey bun....you are so not alone!!! At least you have a nice clean bonus room to use.....my overflow is in the basement and garage....no, I will not ever post pics!!! I call the basement "the abyss".....hugs...cleo
ReplyDeleteKIm, you know me and rooster pillows, I think I have admired him before and he is stuck up in a coop....poor baby and hello umbrella stand...I was just thinking the other day how I could use one of those...ok are you auctioning these off or keeping for a rainy *pun intended* day! And btw...you couldn't hold a candle to my storage closet...I WISH mine looked like yours!
ReplyDeleteYou are in great company...we all need a space to stash our stuff...only wish I had a room like yours but mine is taking up an entire bay of the garage. I purged a few months ago and then my parents downsized and I adopted a lot of their stuff. Time to purge again and pass these treasures along. Too bad we don't all live in the same town... I spy some great stuff in your stash...we could just keep swapping and trading.
ReplyDeleteJermaine
OMG we are sisters and didn't know it. I have a dark side too!!!
ReplyDeleteI did a post like this a few weeks ago (http://piecesoflifeetal.blogspot.com/2011/05/courage-to-change-things-i-can.html) ...I was discouraged because of all the gorgeous pics everyone posts, and it made me feel bad about myself. Blogland is fantasy...we just need to realize that, and be who we are!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!!!! It is so nice to see that I am not the only person who has "The Room!" Hey, you are keeping it real and it is so appreciated!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Well, I think we stager types need a place for our staging stock. It's STOCK, remember? Gotta have stock to work with.
ReplyDeleteSure wish I had a dedicated room with a closed door to put my own 'stock' in. I say that's the perfect stock room. Don't change a thing! Ok, except for Christmas shelving. :)
Donna
I have a few rooms like this! My dream is to one day have a house with storage and everything organized.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone, I assure you Kim. In fact, your space looks pretty neat compared to mine.
ReplyDeleteNow, before you go shipping your stuff off to Goodwill, why don't you try offering some of it for sale to your bloggy friends? I see lots of stuff I'd buy, and pay for shipping of course.
xoxo,
Kim
Hahaha yes, 81 comments worth of yes. We all have this kinda space, garage, whatever. OH H OH and paint the sconces with chalk paint or send them here and I will do it for you and we can blog about it!! Really, I would love to do a major rescue on these!!!
ReplyDeleteUmm....looks like my basement AND attic!!! Glad I am not alone!! But the sad part is, I still go out looking for MORE stuff!!
ReplyDeleteKim, thanks for showing us your home is normal. Believe me, we all thought something might be wrong with us because our homes we're perfection like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure an afternoon's work and your magic, and behold, A house beautiful room, just like the rest of your house. Again, your home is beautiful, I hope you don't really regret posting this, its gives most of us hope. Thanks for sharing it.

Morning Kim,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is...You should see my basement!!!!
I was not scared at all..I actually feel closer to you in a strange, weird and cluttered kind of way.
;->

http://theemptynest-janet.blogspot.com/
Can I go shopping there Kim? I want that rooster pillow - lol.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
This was a fun post to read as much as it was reading the comments. I think the situation looks quite normal and under control to me Kim! At least you have a room you can put your stuff in...I like to cycle things, and some things you like on a given day you might want to use the next...It would be awesome to have some shelves and bins...another project awaits Mr. Savvy! I have to keep my stuff in my workroom, as we have no basement or attic or garage!
ReplyDeleteOkay, if you think THAT"S bad, don't ever come to my house and go to my basement! I can't imagine how southerners live without basements!! I give you an A+ for a clean (and somewhat orderly) storage room. You could hardly have an ugly space -- looks more like a shop some of us would like to spend an hour in :) !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I don't have a basement either or a bonus room. All I have is a three car garage where no cars are ever parked. I had a yard sale this week end and got rid of a lot of stuff, but still need more to go. Just need time to go through it all. You are not alone and besides, yours is organized chaos where mine is just chaos!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this isn't so bad. You should see my basement, better known as the snake den of dispair. I love that clock! I have been looking for a big one like that for my kitchen. Love that you are not afraid to show off your messes though! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteWOW! As you may or may not know, I haven't been doing any blogging & very few comments, but I have been checking in on my favs as often as possible. So I had to comment here. I think this is a wonderful space you have, but Mr. Savvy really does need to build some shelves for you! I am very organized, but I think it's because we've never lived in big houses. I've never had more than a closet to contain my home decor items, so that forces more organization. If I had an extra room to use like you have, I think I would still want to have it orderly -- kind of set up like a store. Then I could go shop my room for just what I wanted! I did have to chuckle at all the "serious" exercise equipment just begging to be used. It would be begging at my house, too, which is why we don't have it around any more! Thank you for sharing this with us. It was fun seeing where some of the "magic" starts out that you share with us in the rest of your beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteCAS
Hi lovely lady. I would love to have this big room. We have are exercise equipment in are garage for now. Have fun with your big room.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a Great Weekend.
xxoo
Diane
Now, as you know I don't comment much. But.... I just had to comment this time. I LOVED this post!!! You are soooo normal. I enjoyed seeing all this "normal". Really! I had to laugh at Mr. Savvy messing up your room too. Too funny! You should feel lucky though that you have a climate controlled room with carpet to store your extra's. Mine is in the eerie basement with all the bugs! If I go to retrieve something from there it has to be cleaned before I can use it. I salute you for putting this out there for all to see. I know that wasn't easy. Ha!! But, it was for the better of mankind. A good deed indeed.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!!!! I was just getting some of my rooms "photo ready" and it is SOOO hard! I don't think anyone lives the way their photos make it appear (I hope) :)
ReplyDeleteStacy
LOL Kim!! You are getting rid of the ladder back chairs? I like those. I love you more for letting us see your secret room. Your blog and your home are beautiful, so you are allowed to have a room where the door is locked. Thanks for keepin' it real.
ReplyDeleteHey you are human!! If this is all you have then you are doing great! We have a basement and I try real hard to get rid of things fairly often but there are always those items we just can't let go of. I was looking around as though I was at a garage sale trying to decide what I wanted to buy!
ReplyDeleteIf I had an extra room it would look worse. lol I did see several things that I would love, some of the picture frames are fabulous and I would love to come shop your room. I'll be right over. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reality ~ seriously! I often wonder if some homes are "perfect" all the time or if the house is really lived in. This is a true reflection of what most folks have somewhere ~ in a storage closet, in a spare room, etc.
ReplyDeleteYou could pack up a lot of it and ship to Joplin or donate to a resource that will get it there. Just a thought ~

LOL Kim! I think we can ALL relate to this! that is why I love doors so much! LOL
ReplyDeletePhew! For a minute there I was afraid someone took a picture of my storage room but then I realized it was much neater than mine! No Kim, you are definitely not alone! I am pretty sure most of us have rooms or areas like that. I should be ashamed to say it, but not only do I have a room like that, I also have a storage unit. I am actually hoping to have that cleaned out within the next few months.
ReplyDelete~ Tracy
Oh Kim, I just wish I had a room like that for storing treasures. A split-level home just doesn't have storage areas. I would love to shop your room; so many things that I love. Your are definitely not alone! Peggy
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and decided to follow after seeing this post! Shows that we're all human and know one is perfect! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove your post! You are not alone! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteBlessings My Friend,
I could so easily have a room like that...but, I don't have an extra spot. That keeps me behaved...well, sorta. Let's not get into the closets!!!
ReplyDeleteI just LOLed when I saw this cause I know you are NOT alone!!!! We ALL have these spots and blogging does NOT help to get it organized!!!! I just had a thought: maybe someone shoul;d have a party about "the ugly side" and we could all SHOP from other peoples things!!!!! I see alot of comments from people who want to shop in your bonus room! Hope you had a great weekend!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYou could open a store of your own in that room, Kim! My laundry room it the JUNK room in our house... not all that nice stuff like you have stored in your bonus room! LOL! Just JUNK! I keep meaning to purge it... it just overwhelms me to think of tackling it!
ReplyDeleteYay! Now I feel good about my closet and garage. Thanks for sharing this, Kim. You need a booth too to sell the stuff you do not like anymore. Today, hubby and I tried to organize the garage but it was too hot and I gave up. Too much stuff too. I'll try to do more tomorrow....Christine
ReplyDeleteOkay, you win! Whatever the prize is...you win. You are so blessed to have a room in which to 'let it all hang out' and still keep the rest of the house all fluffed up. You're the 'Velveteen Rabbit' of collectors. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this Kim! The hubster gives me a hard time about my closet. We have his and hers and just use his for both ours stuff. I will have to take a pic when we r back from vaca.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping it real !! I think you need to add this to your sidebar under favorite posts !! Seriously. I'd love to shopping up there. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm SOOO glad to know I'm not the only person with a room like this. The sad thing is if I would just load up the car & go to Goodwill, the room would be practically empty! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! And all this time I thought you just might be perfect! LOL Just kidding, I knew you had to be just like the rest of us! I am currently in the midst of cleaning up and organizing all the boxes from from my porch sale. They need a place to go and I seem to have run out of places.... What's a girl to do?!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted this Kim, I always wonder where you get all your beautiful things from and then where they disappear to. Now I know. Had to crack up at the exercise machines that used to get used. Blogging is funner than exercising any day:)
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this? haha, you should see my studio. Even Mr. B said it was messy and that says a lot as he's not mr. neat. So glad to know even you have a "messy" room.
