I have been working on four different projects this week all using chalk paint. I believe I must have been going through chalk paint withdrawal. Well, not a problem anymore. Here is one of the projects I did this week.
Three of the projects I worked on are in this guestroom. First up is the lamp on the right. It looked nice like it was, but I attacked it with paint to give it a new or rather old weathered look.
I used Old White for the first coat and then a wash of Old Violet in places and then some Old Ochre, too for a worn wood look. Then it was waxed with clear wax and buffed. Then dark wax used in random spots and buffed again.
So what do you think?
Other projects to be shown soon so stay tuned.
That turned out great Kim!!

ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Do you think I could use chalk paint on some sort of burnished brass lamps? I've wanted to get rid of them but maybe I could just reinvent them...as always, great post.
