This stool is solid oak and someone did a poor job of painting it white.
That's o.k. because I am glad it has already been painted white for me sloppy or not.
A little chalk paint, wax and sanding and it will be all gussied up.
This is the top of a new casserole dish I just purchased from Joss and Main. See how it looks like two chicken heads butting together?
and the handles are the tail.
I think it was around fifteen dollars. Now I just need to cook something in it.
Any ideas?
I will show you the finished stool soon. I worked on it this morning and now I am babysitting Leila.
Hope your Saturday went well.
Kim

Excuse my hair please. It is mohawk day today.
Play pen purchased at a children's consignment shop for $38. Grammy needed one of these since Leila is starting to move.
Oh my goodness, Leila is getting big - what a beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little girl...my son had hair exactly like that when he was a baby. Stuck straight up! Love your casserole. My advice is to put it on a shelf where you can enjoy it and then throw some hamburgers on the grill! Happy Sunday...~Ann
ReplyDeleteSoon Leila will be standing on that stool helping you in the kitchen!! Love the casserole dish.
ReplyDeleteLeila is getting so big- It seems like just yesterday that she was a little baby!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with the old stool...and the pot? Well, I think it is just calling for a good chicken fricasse!;>)

ReplyDeleteLeila totally steals the show, she is just adorable. Love the stool and the new pot. How about some wonderful chicken and noodles, or great spaghetti sauce. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThat casserole dish is waaaay too pretty to actually use.
ReplyDeleteLeila looks like a happy baby and I'm sure she can't wait till she's a bit older and can use your new stool to help her climb.
I can think of all sorts of things to cook in there for the fall, but it's just too hot to think about hot meals right now! Haha. Maybe some baked beans or pot roast?
ReplyDeleteAwww, Leila is adorable!! Can't wait to see what the stool looks like when you apply your magic touch!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little doll!! She has a perfect little round head! i bet she loves her playpen! Bright colors and babies love that!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love the stool and the red pot, but I agree with everyone else, Leila steals the show. she's a big dollbaby.

Leila is growing so fast! My gosh it doesn't seem that she should already be sitting on her own and moving about! They change so quickly! I am still soaking up every moment I have with the boys before returning home. Leaves me little time to blog, but I sure enjoyed seeing that baby girl AND the chicken casserole!! I know that stool will be gorgeous when you finish with it! blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeleteLeila is such a little doll, what a joy to be our little grandchildren. I love the casserole dish, red is such a great color in your kitchen, it pops against the white.
ReplyDeleteHope your Sunday is great.

Leila is so cute. Nice playpen for the price, too. I love the pot. Looks like a big pot of pasta should be in there, to me :)

ReplyDeleteThose wings on the pot are really tails. Really.
Awww! :) She is adorable...we had that same play oen...16 years ago...Memories came flooding back! Love your red pot and stool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great red that casserole dish is, Kim! At least it will look pretty on display until you find something to cook in it. Looking forward to the stool project. Nice that it is basically primed and ready to go for you! Your little cutie looks happy in her playpen. I think mine would be trying to climb out at this point!
ReplyDeletebwaaaaa, I WANT YOUR BABY !

I know your stool will look amazing once you've worked your magic on it! And I would be slow cooking some pork to make pulled pork sandwiches in that beautiful new shiny red casserole dish. I can't get over how big Leila is...they grow up so fast! What a doll!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Kim, Leila is getting so big, what a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteI love your new covered dutch oven. I'd make a chicken in it, or chicken pie with a beautiful crust.
YUMMY!
