When I saw the picture of this on line I did not see these nails showing that are holding it together.
I mean how tacky does this look?
I didn't want to have to send it back and then Mr. Savvy took a look at it to see if he could fix it.
Since he couldn't fix it he said why don't you just fill it with your moss stuff.
What a great idea, dear. I had actually already planned on doing that, but shhhh we won't tell.
I actually was amazed that he even had a clue to do that. I mean he and decorating don't mix.
I think it looks quite fine now. Nobody has to know the ugly secret.
Have a great day and stay cool.

Oh I think decorating and men do mix. Especially the husbands who read our blogs. They have become "experts", tee-hee. You stay cool too Kim. It is hot & humid here.
ReplyDeleteI love it with the moss! I'm surprised it came with all those nails showing. You give me hope that someday my own Mr. will be able to make useful decorating suggestions. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It is so nice that he helps in projects and can decorate too! Let him know we love it!
ReplyDeleteWell isn't he savvy! Love the term "moss stuff." My husband is utterly clueless when it comes to anything to do with decorating...no opinions and no interest. It used to bug me but now I think I'm actually lucky. I can do pretty much whatever I want. See you tonight. I know we are way up north but it's very humid here...the air is so thick you could cut it. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI really like it. Isn't it wonderful when our husbands have decorating suggestions. Mine says things like, "are you going to put that thing in here!" LOL.
hugs
Sissie
I am lucky that Mr Comforts can fix anything....but decorating...not so much -lol.
ReplyDeleteLove your twigs and moss Kim!
Good Morning, Kim!
ReplyDeleteMr. Savvy has some pretty *savvy* ideas, well done! I love it when husbands get in on the decorating ideas, provided they are good ideas. ;) I am really loving the way it looks on your table...BRILLIANT! Have a great day! XO ~Liz
LOL! Good for Mr. Savvy! I'm impressed he knew it was called "moss stuff". : )
ReplyDeleteYou are rubbing off on him!! The moss looks really great in the twigs! Always love your style Kim!
ReplyDeleteThat's cute. Was he all proud of himself when it was done and it looked good? That's how my hubby is. When he's had a hand in some sort of decorating (even if its to not complain about whatever I'm doing) and it turns out well, he is so proud of himself. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun when husbands surprise us! I guess sometimes they are paying attention and absorbing decorator skills along the way.
ReplyDeleteGreat fix Kim it looks good! I guess the hubbies like to surprise us every now an then(LOL)!! Martina
ReplyDeleteOsmosis. He is catching the decorating gene by osmosis! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely rubbing off on him! Looks great! It's suppose to be 100 here today. I think I will stay inside today!
ReplyDeleteSome of that moss stuff...love it. I am finding out that my man does care and know more than I think about decorating. The new piece looks like it was meant to be a part of that pretty vignette on your table.
ReplyDeleteThat's a thoughtful husband you've got there!
ReplyDeleteI can't help but LOVE your red couch and want it everytime I see it. What a beautiful living room you have. See you tonight!
Great save! Much better than sending it back.
ReplyDeleteThe green really makes the white pop now. I know what you mean about mail order. It can be a crap shoot.
ReplyDeleteMr Savvy's quite a doll! It looks great and inone photo i spied an amazing pillow with a rooster on it, is that righ? Sorry i am a bit addicted to rooster looking things!
ReplyDeleteJust adore the colours.

Maybe that's what they intended, because it looks perfect this way.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that moss is women's answer to duct tape? Loved his/your solution.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fix....that moss goes a long way! I have those same Southern Living pedestals with the glass, aren't they versatile? Looks great, nice when the husbands have some input :)

Creative gal you are I am not surprised you found a "fix" - Kudos to your Man for "his" idea. LOL
ReplyDeleteKim, Yay for Mr.Savvy!! What a great idea he had. :)
ReplyDeleteHe's probably like my husband and has lots of ideas for how to fix things.
Isn't it amazing when they actually come up with a good decorating idea? Love it.
Your stick sculpture looks really nice on the stand too.
Hugs,
Babs
Nice save! The husbands can surprise us every once and a while...I guess they pay closer attention to what we are doing than we realize.
ReplyDeleteMr. Savvy is one smart man! Everything looks better with a little moss :)
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! And don't we have clever hubbies! ♥
ReplyDeleteI really like this strange looking thing. I'm with you...the nails were tacky, but it certainly looks great and unique now!
ReplyDeleteYour savvy style must be rubbing off on your hubby! What a statement piece!
ReplyDeleteYvonne
Well, I see all the "savvy" observations have been made so I will just say, it looks terrific! You 2 are a great team!!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteOur men are sometimes smarter than they look! LOL!!
ReplyDelete*wink!
How clever yours is!!
You should keep him.
haha how cute! that's like my boyfriend. and he'll get all excited and proud of himself when i actually use one of his ideas - because so often i don't =P
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny Kim! Hubby's do come up with good ideas every now and then that amaze us! Looks great.
ReplyDeleteI think its nice when our misters get involved. The moss does two things for this piece, first it looks great and it hides the nails. Thumbs up to your mister......Oh, congratulations on your grandson Joshua due this fall. Such sweet news.

ReplyDeleteThat was a great idea. That moss stuff sure comes in handy! :D
ReplyDeleteThat is too cute. He's probably learning from you more than you know!! Maybe you should start asking him for suggestions just to see what he comes up with! :)
ReplyDeletePerfect solution. It looks much better with the moss.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and such a fun story! My husband offered to take over the blog for this week out of the blue one night...and his posts are pretty awesome. Sometimes the husbands surprise us!
