I was at an antique mall a couple of weeks ago and was just browsing as usual and then there it was! I gasped when I first saw it and ran over to check it out and to take a peek at the price with fingers crossed. Yes, I can do that. Let me show you what came home with me and a new vignette that I put together.
This is my new pretty. It is so country French to me. I love the color and the two little chain pulls and the scalloped edging of the shade. Oh, heck I love it all. You see I have a lamp fetish. Truly I do.
Here is a closer look at the scalloped edge.
The finial.
I rounded up some of my old leather books, the bronze blood hound, a large demijohn, an old bottle, and a silver tray holding a magnifying glass, old keys and a vintage print.
Somehow after I got to looking at this combination I felt like I was channeling Sherlock Holmes or something. "Elementary."
I picked up this vintage leather bound Dickens book, too for ten dollars.
I already had all these items except the magnifying glass that is from a local store having a sidewalk sale last weekend.
I guess this may stay like this for a little bit until I start changing up some for fall.
You just never know around here.
Do you have a lamp fetish or a fetish for something else?
Joining the following:
Oh, and the lamp was $6o which I didn't think was very bad and I have never seen one like it before. I like to have unique items especially lamps.

ReplyDeleteKim, your lamp is stunning. I love the colors and the pretty flowers. You definitely found a treasure. Your vignette is fabulous as usual. Hugs, Marty

Kim, Love your lamp, great find! Hubby has always said I had a lamp fetish, I didn't think so until I started cleaning out for a possible move, I have to admit he is right.
ReplyDeleteSandy
Lovely lamp, Kim! I will admit to a lamp fetish. Which leads to a side table fetish so I have something to put those lamps on! : ) Love your vignette - I think you need a deerstalker or a Meersham {spelling?} pipe propped there, too.
ReplyDeleteSo elementary, dahling... I too have a lamp fetish. And I'm all over that one.

Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI have a red and white transferware fetish - and a little bit of a Blue Willow fetish - then there's the linen fetish.....
That lamp is very french country. Great color. I'm sure putting together that lovely vignette was elementary to you. You make it look so effortless.
ReplyDeleteThe pull chains are my favorite part of this pretty lamp. Great find Kim.
ReplyDeleteLove the finial on it. I've never seen one like it either, and I do a lot of looking. I'm a lamp hoarder, too. My philosophy on it is, you just never know when you may need one, so I have a closet full waiting to make an appearance! Anyway, came by to tell you that the e-mail you sent me went into my spam and the domain was blocked (I had apparently blocked a spammer w/ a hotmail address, and my e-mail was blocking all 'hotmail' addresses, but I have corrected it.) If you would like to re-send it, I will respond, but I couldn't see what you wrote, so I didn't want you to think I was rude. Can't wait to see what you did with your hutch. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteKnow what you're saying about the lamps! I've taken to stashing mine in my daughter's attic as I've so many in my own. Shhhh don't tell my husband!
ReplyDeleteHugs~
