She painted the chest white and left the top brown. She said with the brown floors and brown walls and all the brown furniture she thought she would break it up with the white chest. She got the chair and ottoman from our mother since she has purchased new furniture. I will share mom's new stuff when it all comes in. Should be around Labor Day.
Another cute lamp and shade from Home Goods.
Just like I shared about the new book this morning by Charles Faudree. It's all in the details.

ReplyDeleteOh I love your sister's home!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shot is of the desk between the curtains. Love the desk and the drapes...beautiful!!!
I also love the white slip covered wing back chair!!
Yes, you are definately sisters! What great details she has (just like you!)
ReplyDeleteYour styles are very similar, much like my sister and me. Her home is lovely and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletehugs

Love the brown and white... it's easy on the eyes. That's a great brown chair and ottoman... obviously Mama has good taste!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I actually zoomed in on that cozy corner with the Paris clock and wingback chair. I really like the beautiful mix of light and dark throughout the room.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that the white lamp beside the wingback chair came from Home Goods (not Hobby Lobby). It was a recent purchase, so they may still carry it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely space!
ReplyDeleteStyle must simply run in the family. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty as always Kim. I just love the way that corner looks with the white slipcovered chair, sooooo pretty! Martina
ReplyDeleteBeautiful changes! I love the books how she has those tied!
ReplyDeleteYour sister's room is lovely and yes, the details really make it special.
ReplyDeleteI love the way her linen drapes break at the floor -- it's such a romantic and comfortable look. And the lampshade -- love that to! Hope you are well and thank you for sharing inspiration from your sister. Carol
ReplyDeleteI'm swooning! You two are so good!! blessings ~ tanna

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your post's of your sister's home. The two of you are very talented! Do you know where she got her curtains or if she made them? Thank you for sharing!

Kim, your sisters home is gorgeous. You both have fabulous style. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love see what you sisters are up to! You both have beautiful homes and I love changing things up too, so I'm right there with you! I would love to have that big clock...in case she wants to share!

I think the chest looks great in the white. It breaks up the wood tones nicely. I'm glad she left the wall shelf as is. I love the tone of that wood. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteEverything is coming together so fabulously. I just love the Secretary. It is just beautiful. Every photo is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeletePlease tell your sister I would kill for that hanging shelf. Absolutely love it!
Best,
Susan
Love, love that sign on the chest! Also love that she left the top of the chest brown. What a comfortable room!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the Home Goods lampshade. I have three naked lamps in my front room, and I can't find shades I like to save my life. I've been to a HG once and was immediately hooked, but I'm pretty sure they won't be opening one here in Montana any time soon.
Golly pop!! The decorating fairy really blessed you and your sis & Mom with awesome decorating genes!! I wish she would sprinkle some of that decorating fairy dust on me!! :-D
ReplyDeleteI caught a glimpse of what looks to be a beautiful chandy!! Do share!

ReplyDeleteEverything you girls do is lovely. I am a big fan of the buttons on the lampshade!

Birds of a feather......it looks like you and your sister got the same decorating gene. Her home (like yours) is lovely!
ReplyDeleteJane
Decorating talent obviously runs in your family! The room looks so welcoming.

Good morning, Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the painted chest of drawers. Great change! And the blue bowl on top is lovely.
I have to agree with everyone. You and your sister share very good decorating taste. I am admiring her wing back chair and wondering what the slip is made of....I have a wing chair I need to have a slip made for but can't make up my mind.......
ReplyDeleteThanks
Andrea
If I lived within driving distance of your sis, I would pull my SUV up to the back door, pry open the door, grab that wall shelf and run like *you know what* before the cops got there because I set off the alarm system. It would almost be worth the high speed chase just to have that beautiful piece in my hands for just a short time...!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the changes she made... what a difference a little paint can make... you really see the dresser now and all it's details. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour sister's room is gorgeous! I love so many elements of it. The clock really caught my eye. I definately feel the need to do some redecorating now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Kim, The two of you should go into the decorating business. You both have such wonderful taste and you know how to accessorize beautifully. I especially love the shelf and the cute ruffled lamp shade.

ReplyDeleteIt just looks so lovely & perfect!
ReplyDeletewishing you a wonderful weekend and ciao!
Your sister and you are the "detail twins." I think your mom must have set an amazing example for you girls. Thanks for sharing your sister's beautiful living room.
