With the new pictures that I was recently lucky enough to stumble upon the look is more balanced.
Up at the very top is the chamois antlers that I shared with you here.
Directly under the antlers is the last antique hunt scene that I came across at a local antique mall. It is the same mall that Layla and Kevin and the film production team visited while working in this area on their television pilot for a possible show on HGTV. I wish I had been shopping the day they were in the store.
Close up of the scene.
The print above the dog picture is one of two more antique pictures I found at the other Queen of Hearts antique mall a little farther away. The two were only $30 each so of course I snatched them right up.

On the left side
I was so tickled that the frames didn't have to have anything done to them and the pictures were the perfect size. Sometimes I hesitate buying from the antique malls too quickly because nothing is returnable.

The red pillow covers I purchased at Scott's antique mall are perfect.
The round velvet pillow I found at Home Goods in the clearance aisle for $12 regularly $29. I found two of them and grabbed them both. The other one is in my bedroom that I will share later. The same exact pillows were in a sale a few weeks ago on either Joss and Main or One Kings Lane. They are by Thro and cost more than what I paid.
Finished.
This room is warm and inviting and filled with all kinds of vintage treasures that I love.
I say surround yourself with the things you love in your home.
It's your home!
Have a super duper week!

I agree (about surrounding yourself with the things you love). Your room is lovely - not just a cookie-cutter, impersonal, sterile, attempt to duplicate the latest designer "look"...
ReplyDeleteI love it, Kim! Your wall should be "fini" because it looks wonderful! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kim! Those red pillow covers go perfect with your couch and with the whole room, love the new look! Martina

ReplyDeleteI love this room Kim!!!! It looks like Ralph Lauren lives here!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOO with you in "surround yourself with things you love". When I take a minute and sit in my living room I always say, AHHHHH. It is a room I love, feel at peace in, and enjoy my surroundings! I got ALOT of flack about painting it the colors I did, but I LOVE IT!!! And to me, that is what counts. Your gallery looks BEAUTIFUL, Kim! This room keeps getting better and better! LOVE the new pillow covers: perfect! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI think I like this incarnation of your wall the best, Kim! What a great gallery wall you have going here and it really gives a homey, warm feeling to this room.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, what a brilliant finish! You so know how to pull things together! I love how you coordinate colors and make things perfect! Your wall is so warm, smart and you stamped it with your personal style! You got your rhythm going lady! I'm always in awe of all that you do~
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I'm loving it, Kim. Most importantly though, is that you love it. I always tell people to surround themselves with the things THEY love. Your home is charming and personal. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteYou had me when I saw the red sofa.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm good!
I agree! So charming and warm Kim, your room is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCheers to that Kim! Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt does look great, Kim. I agree-it looks "finished"-at least for now. Those red hunt pillows are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think you've got it right. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteKim, it looks wonderful - all cozy for fall and winter. The new pillows are perfect, and I'm still loving the higher table in front of the sofa that you added a while back. Linda
ReplyDeleteKim, the wall arrangement looks wonderful. I think I mentioned on your blog before I also have several German trophies... and a dog/horse bedroom.

This room turned out so pretty with all your new things! I think you've got a nice balanced look going on above the sofa now.
ReplyDeleteI love that your wall has some balance, but is still eclectic. I'm working (in my mind anyway) on doing something similar in our family room.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteWow!!
Love this wall everything is so cohesive!!
It has a very warm and cozy feeling, love the pops of red and the new accent pillows...
Well done!!
Enjoy it!
All the Best,
Christine
The room looks great, Kim! You've chosen all of the elements well for the theme of the space, great artwork & pillows. The colors are so warm. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's very pulled together and the print on the pillows makes the whole room for me, andrea@townandprairie
ReplyDeleteYOur room is gorgeous and all of your accessories are stunning. It's wonderful to see a room that so reflects the things the owner loves. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteLove it all. You did a fabulous job. so warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe symmetry of the artwork is really pleasing. Great focal point.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't be lovelier! Thanks for letting us enjoy your lovely room!
ReplyDeleteHugs~
A beautiful room with a lot of substance, Kim. What I love about your decorating is that you add all the special touches that make your rooms unique...

This room is beautiful because it refects your interests and personality. Love all the warm colors that you've used.Perfection!
ReplyDeleteI love the way your gallery wall turned out, Kim. It's just perfect! I always liked it no matter what your tried because the room itself is just so pretty. Kuddos to you for sticking it out until you found just the right look. I would have thrown in the towel long ago and just lived with it whether I really liked it or not. Take care.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Kim! There is definitely a better continuity of the artwork. I totally agree with using items that reflect your tastes, interests and items you love. I've been in many nicely decorated homes that still felt a bit on the impersonal side because of the lack of personality in the decor. People should walk into your home and almost immediately get a feel for what the homeowner is "in to". You always accomplish that so nicely in all the rooms you share with us. :o)
ReplyDeleteWell it certainly looks designer worthy! Very pretty!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe room always looked great but I do like the new look better. The new prints, and you know how I love those pillow covers you found. Great new look!

Looks like an exact designer look to me! You could not have planned a better arrangement. I love the hunt scene, have it in my house too. It's timeless. Oh, and I ordered the mirror! Can't wait until it comes in!

The wall and room look wonderful Kim! It looks cozy and inviting.
ReplyDeletePerfection Kim! The gallery wall is fabulous. What a great find those pillow covers were!
ReplyDeletePerfection Kim! The gallery wall is fabulous. What a great find those pillow covers were!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have been working on a similar project and so when I saw the movie, "The Help" I loved how the set designer hung photos and art throughout the movie. I can't wait until the movie comes out on dvd and we get more of the images from it. Did you see it and all the neat picture frames and artwork hanging?
ReplyDeleteLove all of your new pictures. The pillows are perfect for your couch. Loving every last detail. Must be a great feeling to actually have a room "Finished"!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Great job Kim!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely, Kim! But I know you well enough to know that for you, "finished" is really never finished!
ReplyDeleteThe room looks very cozy and inviting. I could not agree more that if we surround ourselves with treasures we love, it will be reflected in how well the room appears to others. "Eclectic" all the way for me!
ReplyDelete:) CAS
It looks just beautiful Kim! I love hunt scenes and you are making me rethink some wall groupings I have in my own home.:-)
ReplyDeleteI always love getting to see this gorgeous room!
Vanessa
It's a beautiful room, reflecting your personality!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Kim. Looks so warm and inviting, makes me want to curt up with a book and spend some time there.

Looks just perfect! I love the new red toile pillows!
ReplyDeleteKim, it looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen
Well, well done, Kim! You outdid yourself ... truly a wonderfully warm, inviting space!
ReplyDeleteI just love, love it Kim and yes, I love to sorround myself with the things that I love and I would easily love your red couch and all the pictures behind it! I love Eng. hunting scenes with dogs and your pillows are beautiful too. Thanks for sharing and have a super week. Hugs, FABBY
ReplyDeleteI think that you room looks like it has been professionally decorated. I love the red couch, and the way you used the drum table as a 'tea' table. I have the same table and would love to paint it now. Beautiful work. Blessings
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more .... surround yourself with your favorite things! A home should reflect one's style and personality and you have done just that beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYour room looks lovely.

P.S. Did you see where someone commented on my blog yesterday that you and I should go into business together!
ReplyDeleteThought that was such a sweet remark and a great idea, right?!!
:)
I LOVE your new (old?) red pillow covers. They are so perfect for your grouping. The new velvet pillow is lovely, too. The arrangement of pictures and antlers looks great. Looking at your older pictures, though, I miss seeing that inviting, comfy leopard ottoman that you used to have in there. Not that your table looks bad, the ottoman just looked like something you could get comfortable with. I think I may be looking for something like that for my house... And for your info, I don't get tired of seeing your new arrangements--it always gives us inspiration and new ideas! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Again,
ReplyDeleteThe gallery wall turned out great! And the new red pillows really do a lot to deal with my issues with the couch. You really did a great job!It looks great.
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love this room and give you a big bravo for how deftly you used red in this room ... I'm currently working with two very red chairs and am finding it a challenge.
I've never used a photo from another blog on mine and don't even know what the protocol is for doing so (other than stating the source) but I have "borrowed" one of your photos in my post: http://happilyhomeafter.blogspot.com/2011/10/new-rules-realigned-priorities.html
If you prefer that I remove your photo just let me know.
Thanks
Robin

Finished...who are you kidding Kim :) We are all in the same boat....finished for this week....or day....wink...wink!
ReplyDeleteLove the gallery wall though.
It's beautiful! And I have to agree with everyone that, no, I don't think it will ever be finished! It's satisfying for you for now. I love it. Your home is a reflection of you and I think your wall is very interesting. I think if I came to your home, I would be inspired by all the interesting vignettes and wall art. My mother in law went to a Dr's office the other day and called me up and told me all about the wonderful Art gallery he has in office waiting room. She said they got up and looked around the room and it made the wait seem like no big deal. She said that practically every inch of wall was covered with beautifully framed artworks of all sizes and styles. I want to go to that Dr's office for a "field trip!"
