I switched out the white slipcover on the sofa for the maize colored one that I found on ebay last year. I love the way this adds some more color and warmth to the room. If you have a PB sofa and want a new slipcover be sure and check out ebay. Best prices found there. If you want to see the white slip go here.
I also changed out some of the pillows. Y'all know how much I love pillows and I have plenty to move around.
Apples always say fall. I added a few McIntosh apples to a silver tray.
I am hoping my fern stays alive through the winter for some life in this room. I decided to put it in my metal bushel basket from Pottery Barn and placed it up on a large candlestick.
Still have my large garden rooster and my vintage clay pots on the table. Only one succulent survived from the three I had.
Added a nest to this pot and set my bird beside it. All this sets on a vintage tole tray.
My clay squirrel certainly gets around. Now he sits on the coffee table. I placed some antlers and and old shoe form in the coke crate.
Eventually these chairs will be either reupholstered or slipcovered. I wish I could just order slips to fit, but these chairs, that were once my grandmother's, are very old and a very odd shape with tiny arms. This is the upholstery that I had done about fourteen years ago and it is time for a change. They do work with the colors in here. These were originally used in the master bedroom when it was green.
As you can see I love mixing patterns. This is a cheap chair cushion from Walmart by Better Homes and Garden last year and I just cut the ties off.
I took out the red rug again. It was filthy where my shoes go on it all the time. Didn't think the bottom of my shoes were that dirty. I also tried to clean part of it and it turned pink. So it is gone. I have had this rug stored away and just brought it back out. This one is soft and actually warmer under foot on these cold floor tiles than the red cotton one. This was purchased from overstock.com several years ago.
For now this is my view at sunrise from the sun room. Soon it will be gone.

Ahhh...Kim, this is a gorgeous look. I love the yellow slip cover and the pillows are so pretty with it. Your fern has done amazing. I am with ya on the bare naakeed trees YUK is right!
ReplyDeleteYour fall changes are fab Kim. I love the color of the slip cover on your sofa and love your apple painting!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea on changing the color of slipcover to a warm color for the fall/winter. Is that beadboard on your walls? I love it.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures and there's the squirrel again. My give away would look great in your home:-)
ReplyDeleteElna
Love your fall colors and covet the center pillow :) You'll have plenty of pretty color when all the leaves are down!
ReplyDeleteLove the fall colors indoors and out. It all looks so very cozy ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat view, Kim! I can understand how you miss it during the Winter months. I think your reds have warmed up the sunroom wonderfully. You've got some great pillows, too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderfully warm and cozy!

All your colors inside compliment the Fall colors outside. Love the fern in that bushel basket with burlap. Your view is amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour sunroom looks gorgeous all warmed up for Fall. I love all your pretty pillows.
ReplyDeleteKim, the porch looks wonderful and I'm just so jealous. My porch isn't enclosed and with winter fast approaching I've spent most of today closing things up.
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with that bushel basket you have the fern in, it looks fabulous and a great focal point on your round table.
Love the new slipcover, Kim! It is so sunny and warm. Great choice for our dreary winter days!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow slip cover is so pretty especially for Fall and Winter. I love all your pillows and that was a great idea to buy a pillow and cut the ties off! I always love your antlers no matter where you put them. The room looks so warm and inviting. I hate it when all the leaves are gone too. We are maybe getting some SNOW on Sat.!!!! And, we are going to a wedding. Poor girl. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI love your sun porch!! It has so much warmth, color & texture!! I'm also in love with your green walls...so cheery. They should lift your spirits in the Winter months.
ReplyDeleteI love this room! I really should look into changing out my white slipcover in the sunroom, too. I love the maize coloured one you ordered. I'll have to check out Ikea (where my loveseat is from). Adore all your pillows, too!
ReplyDeleteI've just about decided that I could move into your house and be very happy... love the sun room. I have many of like things in my home... including the rooster.. I also have the SAME magazine rack with birds although mine is a french blue.. it's a little too blue for me and sitting in the garage waiting for a garage sale. I had it on craigslist no takers. Maybe I should bring it back in... maybe it's a sign that it didn't sell?? LOL Love the fern on the candlestick... great trick and idea!!
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty yellow slipcover with those pillows, Kim. The white is nice but that yellow really catches the eye. I DESPISE looking outside on gloomy winter days! Sometimes I think I suffer from seasonal affective disorder, it affects my mood so much. I've been sweeping leaves off my patio every other day lately. Winter is coming whether we like it or not...
ReplyDeleteLove the seasonal changes! We have very similar tastes.
ReplyDeleteI am looking at my own beadboard walls painted the exact same green as yours, and I have the same vintage magazine rack, except mine is just plain white. Love it and your blog. It has inspired me - I have a brand new blog. I hope you will take a look. I would love your feedback!
Erin
You really did warm it up with that slipcover, Kim. I'm with you-I hate when it is all brown and bare outside and the skies are all grey and overcast. UGH!
ReplyDeleteYou know, those chairs don't actually look so awful. The gold in them (at least in the pictures) looks like an exact match for your sofa cover. How wonderful that you have them to remind you of your grandmother.
One more workday for me here this week...and then I can play a bit here! xo Diana
I simply love the gingham pillow!
ReplyDeletethat a room a person could get cozy in.. love all your prints and pillows.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteYour sunroom looks so pretty and the view is wonderful. I love all your pillows and accessories.
hugs
Sissie
I love your sunroom and your view!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
This is by far my favorite room in your house! I love the colors used in here...the butter color slip cover looks prefect with all the other colors you have. When you bring your fern in from outside do you ever have a problem with bugs being in it? I have 2 large ones that I would love to keep alive through the winter, but I am scared that bugs could come into the house from it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your warm and inviting space!
Rachel~
Kim your fall changes look great!! I love that red ck pillow I can't believe it was a chair cushion from Walmart, going to have to ck that out to see if they still carry them! Have a great weekend, Martina
ReplyDeleteLooks good! I love all the colors. They're warm and I really think I could take a nap in there. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! I love the yellow and I love the mix of all kinds of patterns. You're so brave and it's all so inspiring. I wish my sunroom faced the sunrise, but I won't complain, I'm blessed. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI really like this room a lot. Are you sure you aren't a stylist for PB?? And I like those patterned chairs~it all looks great.

Beautiful room. I didn't take the time to read the comments, so someone else may have suggested this. Maybe you should consider having slip covers made for the chairs. You could change them out with the seasons the same as you do with the sofa.
ReplyDeleteLovin' your pops of red and all the cozy touches of patina. Looks like a wonderful place to spend the gray days of winter. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love love love this room and your mixture of colors. So pretty with all the red accents. And those turning leaves look so pretty. What an amazing view.
