I finally went to Michaels to see if I could find anything to use and they had these wooden rings for only $1.49 each. Perfect!
First thing I did was paint the rings with my Venetian Gold craft paint and let them dry.
I wanted to attach an acorn to each ring so I went to Hobby Lobby to get a hot glue gun. Then while standing there with a glue gun in my hand I saw these glue dots so I bought them instead.
Best decision I ever made. These were so easy to use and no burned fingers. Just place the glue dot on the ring and then stick the acorn on and done.
Just the look I wanted.
Simple and cheap and love the look.
You will have to wait to see the rest of the table. I added acorns and a combination of a leaf and acorns on the wicker napkin rings I already had for the other table.
The tables are done. Now it will be on to the cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking.

One daughter and her hubby will be here Saturday to pick up a sofa and other furniture in our big basement clean up and clear out of 2011.:-) Two grands are spending Saturday night with us then the bunch will be here Sunday for Thanksgiving dinner...which is always casual at our house.
Hoping for a do nothing day tomorrow.
I'm with you, Kim. I needed eight and I wasn't about to pay $6 each. Yikes. Made my own.
ReplyDeleteLove yours....too cute.

ReplyDeleteI picked up my free turkey today - at our grocery store, Ingles, if you spend so much money, you get a free turkey. Anyway, that is all I have done so far...

Acorns were very popular in some of the upscale shops I visited in NYC this wee.
ReplyDeletePerfectly charming Kim!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
Did I miss where you got your napkins? I love them!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! You know I didn't even own a napkin ring before blogging and I still don't have many. We don't use them, I like them on tablescapes but not to use in real life, so I hate spending much on them. Can you remove the acorn and leave the glue dot to stick on something else?
ReplyDeleteThose are darling Kim and I have never heard of glue dots but I am certainly going to pick some up next time I'm at the craft store! Thanks so much for sharing this great project with us at Inspiration Friday this week!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
