Everything I used this year I had on hand. I made a couple of changes to the swag after taking this picture.
I purchased this swag several years ago because it is pretty real looking. If I were to put live greenery out here it would not last very long because the sun beats down on this porch. I love this burlap ribbon that I just added and it is on sale now at Ballard Designs. I also added the string of brass bells that I have probably had for over thirty years.
Lanterns filled with battery operated candles are all I added to the porch.
I pull this very large lantern out every year for Christmas decorating. It has been used in several different places. This was a steal at twenty dollars a few years ago at Home Goods.
Here is a shot with the front porch lights on.
It usually just looks like this with the glow from the garland.
This very large wreath hangs on the large window. The old fashioned sign from Hobby Lobby carries on the vintage themed Christmas inside.
Sure hope y'all aren't up to your eyeballs yet with Christmas decor. I still have more to share and parties to join.

Kim that is one AMAZING stoop.. It's beautiful...
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! You have a beautiful "stoop" though, and I just adore the lanterns you've used for creating such an amazing porch. Your swag is very pretty too...I don't have but a door entrance too, to our Pent House apt. Merry Christmas dear friend. FABBY

ReplyDeleteYou know I love lanterns! This is so pretty! Amazing how some decor can last 30 years! That's the best kind!
ReplyDeleteI have to say Kim that you have the most beautiful "stoop" I've ever seen. Just the right touch of Christmas without being overdone. Perfection, oh and I'm in love with your porch/stoop light fixtures.
ReplyDeleteSo amazing for for a stoop. This is lovely.

ReplyDeleteKathysue
Your Southern stoop is still wonderful. I have to try to get a night glow of ours, you did great!
ReplyDeleteI thought your first photo was from Pottery Barn Catalog or a magazine! It's very beautiful and striking!

ReplyDeleteKim, I love the glow of your stoop! It's beautiful. We have a front porch that is pretty long and we never use it. I treat it like a stoop and just decorate at the door. Yours looks beautiful!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the night shot, beautiful glow!
The lanterns are gorgeous, I like how you added the bells to your swag. Every time you open the door, they will ring...
All the Best,
Christine
Kim - your front entry is just beautiful. The glow of the lights only adds to the welcoming feel you've created. Well done, thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThats for sure the purdiest dang "stoop" I've ever seen.... YES IT IS.
ReplyDeleteYour stoop is very inviting. You have great talent. I don't have a lantern, but I do have something that reminds me of one. I think I'll see how it looks on my front porch!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love swags on doors and I have one this year to but I cannot join every party as I am just plain tired. Those lanterns are fabulous up there on the stoop. We have three lit penguins because my kiddo loves them and they make her happy and that is all that matters. I just brought her home from college and I believe I moved a mountain of stuff...girls. Tidings of Joy ♥ Olive
ReplyDeleteI love it Kim! I would say mine qualifies as more of a "stoop" too. :-) Yours looks just beautiful and I appreciate you sharing it at the Doors and Porches party!
ReplyDeleteVanessa

Your stoop looks perfectly lovely...and do you not just adore battery candles!! They are fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteThe window over your door is extra pretty. I love your grouping of lanterns and garlands all lit up and such an attractive swag wreath.
ReplyDeleteI must look for the battery operated candles.
I really love how your front entryway turned out! The new ribbon and bells are so pretty on that swag. I love your lit lanterns out by the door too. It's all so well done!
ReplyDeleteLove your swag, Kim! I've been doing a swag for the past few year snow and I really like it. Love the lanterns ~ especially the really big one! They are perfect on your entry step.
ReplyDeleteI like how you added the bells and burlap ribbon to your swag. Looks great. I have the lanterns on the porch too. My girlfriend is using battery operated candles in her lanterns too. Costco right now has some awesome ones, 4 for 20 dollars. I'm using them for the wedding. Anyway, your stoop looks "stoopendous!"
ReplyDeleteYour stoop is a whole lot prettier than my stoop. :). Mine is so lack luster this year. I need to change some things, but I'm not into another "do-over". Love, love your lanterns and and the door arrangement. I'm still decorating, too. I want to get more done by the shed if the weather will cooperate.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I'm enjoying all the Christmas decor! Your porch/stoop is gorgeous and looks like it could be in a magazine. Love the lanterns too!
