It was miss Leila and her mom. Such a nice surprise. Thank goodness Grammy had just gotten dressed. Yes, it was afternoon and I had been busy in my jammies until then. Leila loves to sit on the bottom stair. She thinks she is sooooo big.
After Leila had a bite to eat we went and spent some time in the sunroom. I took several shots of Leila and these made the cut.
Her hair is getting longer.
She has a little bit of a rash around her mouth because she has had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease for the last week. This is why she was so irritable on Christmas. I just found out my sister's kids have it now. Rare for an 18 year old to get it. Sorry, sis.
Leila is talking a lot these days and I am still waiting for her to say Grammy!
When I ask her to say it she just looks at me like, what?
When I ask her to say it she just looks at me like, what?
I would pick a name that is hard to say.
Have a great holiday weekend!
Oh my goodness she is adorable! Hope she's feeling better now...

She is SO cute and I love her little outfit! What a great surprise! I remember my kids sitting on the bottom step too! :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so adorable! What a great suprise visitor. Oh, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that starts working around the house and stays in their jammies till the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, she is as precious as can be! That a surprise of the best kind! I some how know she's stolen Grammy's heart!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Nancy
Your pictures of that gorgeous child are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteShe is just precious and look at those blue eyes!
Glad you had a good visit!

What a sweetie! She is just precious in her little penquin suit. Your portraits are gorgeous, of course you do have a pretty special model. I couldn't wait for my first grandson to say gramma. He called his other gramma "booshy" (short for baboshka- she is Polish), but would just look at me and smile. Then, one day, it turned out my name was Mimi. Now that he is 3, it is Gramma Mimi.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute, Kim. Amazing that you got such good photos as I know they don't stay still long at her age. That virus went through our kid's school several times over the years.
ReplyDeleteLeila is such a cutie!! Keep working on "Grammy," or who knows what you'll end up with. My first-born started calling my mom "Magoo," and 4 kids later she's stuck with that one :)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy new year!!
She's so adorable!! My nephew is 2 1/2 & my mom is Nona. Well, she was until about 6 mos. ago. He calls her Nonnie now. Oh well! Nonnie it is!
ReplyDeletecutie patootie and I am certain there was a very happy grammie in the house.
ReplyDeleteShe does look so much better. Fun surprise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little girl!! We had hand foot and mouth {well my two little girls} when they were about 8 months and 2. It definitely wasn't fun!!

That poor little thing! She is just so cute, Kim! My granddaughter has her hair getting longer in the back, too, and it is a mess of soft loose curls. It's funny how the front doesn't seem to grow as fast {and on mine the front is straight while the curls are in the back}. I went with LaLa for my grandma name and she can't say it yet either. I would have thought it would be pretty easy for her to pick up, but I'm still waiting!
ReplyDeleteSo VERY sweet and what a WONDERFUL surprise.... I loved looking at those BEAUTIFUL blue eyes of hers... :)
ReplyDeleteThose surprise visits are the best! Love her pretty blue eyes!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
she is just beautiful! happy new year! susan
ReplyDeleteI love her little penguin outfit. (I guess it is a penguin.) If she wasn't so doggone cute, I would be mad at her for giving my kids that sickness! But I'm not. She certainly didn't want it herself. My kids are all broken out. Cody just looks like he has acne on his face (poor guy). Will's is mostly on his hands, arms and feet. I wonder if once you get this you are immune from it (like the chicken pox). Just curious. Glad you had a nice visit though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little girl! I know she will bring your a lot of happiness in the coming new year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, sparkly eyed darling! Your photography is great!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Leila is just the cutest thing! I'm glad she's feeling better. Your photos of her are fabulous. We are shopping for a new camera. Are you still happy with yours, and what other lenses do you use frequently?

ReplyDeleteMary
She is so darling, Kim! We do adore our little (or big) "Grands," don't we.....lol! Yep, should have gone with "Nana," because most little ones like bananas which they call "nanna" -- get it? They tend to look at you like you've totally lost your mind when you pick them up for a hug when all they really wanted was a banana!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy New Year!
CAS
Your grandaughter is adorable! Don't worry abouth the pajamas-all of my neighbors have seen every pair I own. I go outside to the garden in good weather and before you know it I am pulling weeds ,etc. What in the world is hand foot and mouth disease? I have never Heard of it-how do you get it?
