Until I find an affordable sunburst mirror to replace this cheap copy from Hobby Lobby I will just keep changing this one. It was originally a gold color and I painted it white and sanded some of it back off.
This is what it looked liked over the bed. The room has changed somewhat and I thought maybe it would look better changed back to gold. You will see the changes to the room soon.
As you can see it is not a perfect finish on here because I didn't want it to be perfect.
All I did was use Rub n Buff in Gold Leaf.
Until I get a better one this will do.
Simple and easy change.
Have a super duper first week of 2012!

ReplyDeleteI love the touches of gold. A bit more fancy for the bedroom I suppose. Love that mirror.

I like how the gold is not too overwelming, but adds just a touch of shimmer. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteWell, nothing you do is ever a mistake, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very soft and lovely colour. I love this room and am looking forward to seeing the changes.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the changes Kim!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the other changes in the room....
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful...I like the bling of gold it gives your room.
ReplyDeletePretty pretty bed.....
I like how it turned out. Did you know that I gave my mirror like that away to Goodwill?! I had painted it white at one time and then I stopped using it. I gave it away because I didn't think it was in very good condition to sell it. Glad yours has held up through the changes! I recently saw a pretty one for sale at Wuzlu. It was a unique shape and finish.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty with the gold rub on it, just a touch of gold is very elegant.
ReplyDeletePaint was CERTAINLY one of the BEST inventions... It makes it possible for us to CHANGE our minds whenever we Want leaving NOTHING set in stone... I LOVE IT!! can't wait to see your Room Changes... Happy New Year Kim... :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome quick change! Don't you love when you change something only to change it back again?! I do it all the time too!! Happy New year Kim! Marcy
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have to replace it...it looks stunning and very expensive. I just bought some rub n buff but I think I got the regular gold. May have to exchange it for the gold leaf! Have a good week yourself. I'm off one more day and then back to school on Tuesday. :o(
ReplyDeleteThat Rub n Buff is magical stuff isn't it?! Love it!

ReplyDeleteWishing I had a hob lob near me. I'd love to have a mirror like that, knock off or not! I think the touche of gold is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou are the master of re-do's! I'm in awe of your ability to do quick change-ups that make a space just right.. until you decide you might like something else! It's what we all dream of doing, but we mostly just live with what we have!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Christmas and New Year's and I wish you the very best in 2012!
Cheers to another year of inspiration!
