Now, onto the other project that CRAZY me took on at the same time as the powder room. That's alright though because now I have these changes made and I can just sit back and enjoy my new room.
Here is a before shot from one of my older posts.
This is what it looked like the last time I shared it at Christmas of 2011.
Here it is today with lighter walls and a new furniture arrangement. You didn't think I would put everything back the way it was? In fact I just switched things up from the way I had it when I shared the sneak peeks the other day. Just can't stop tweaking things.
I did have this wicker chair placed by the doorway coming into the room. I decided I like it better over here. The ticking stripe pillow is from OKL (I think).
This is the other side. Isn't it the cutest? Only problem is the blue doesn't really work in this room. When I get slips made for the two chairs then I can flip it to this side.
I decided to put both chairs over on this side of the room so the view to the pond isn't blocked.
I may have to move one of the chairs back to the other side in the summer. We put a window air conditioner unit in the window to the left behind the chair since our system is not large enough to cool this room when it is hot out. For now it will stay like this.
Pillow from Restoration Hardware outlet last year.
I decided I didn't want the red shutters back in either. I just want it lighter and airier in here.
I put this bench against the wall in place of the wicker chair. I had this in one of the guest rooms.
The cushion I already had from Ballard's. The bench was purchased either from Joss & Main or OKL.
Used pillows I already had. I like the mix of white, red and brown. The center pillow was my Christmas present from my daughter. Does she know me or what? It is from Pottery Barn.
I brought the wicker tray from the great room to use here and filled it with my vintage bottles and a set of antlers.
The little yellow chippy table that was in the powder room is now being used as a plant stand.
The fern is loving it out in the sun room. I stuck it in my vintage orchard basket.
Only succulent left from the summer. I knew I would kill them.
Plenty of reading material in this vintage peach basket that I picked up for five dollars last summer.
Afternoon sun coming in.
I will share the cabinet that houses the television makeover later this week. You can see part of it in one
of the pictures.
The new wall color is white Sand by Benjamin Moore.
Trim is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore same as throughout the house.
Hope y'all have a super duper week!

AWE-SOME!! At first I thought you had a new white slipcover for your sofa, I guess the light coming in made it look more tan-ish yellow. It all looks great. I know you must be thrilled to get things back together!!

Your sun room looks amazing, Kim. Such a fresh look and yet so interesting with all your pretty accent pieces. I kept scrolling back and forth through the post to see the photos over and over. I think the fern and magazines in the baskets are so pretty, and functional too. The red and brown go so nicely together. Now you need to sit back and enjoy it for a bit.
ReplyDeleteKim, there are sooo many wonderful points to make about your lovely room! ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I just love coming over here.. You make me feel so normal! Just when I think I'm for sure 100% crazy, and there's no denying it, I see that you too have moved your furnitures, changed your pillows, rearranged a room, and/or painted. That's one thing I've not attempted.. painting. You are a brave (and extremely talented) one!

ReplyDeleteI gotta tell you, I have sunroom envy. We had one for 1 year, in our LAST house...sigh. When I was outside w/ my kids tonight, I was looking at the roofline wondering how one might be added. Love the new paint color, too. And if it makes you feel any better, my house has pretty much looked like those you posted w/ stuff everywhere b/c I'm still putting away Christmas decorations. Stupid me, just keeps buying more, and more, and more.

I have to say, your "before" sunroom was pretty fabulous - very fresh and pretty :-) But the new sunroom is very nice too - it's fun to change things up and move stuff around. Maybe not so much fun to paint, but it's all part of the process :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new room :-)
You can sit back and enjoy your newly decorated room, who are you kidding? You get more projects done than anybody in the blogosphere so I know that you don't ever sit down! And Mr. Savvy had better not sit still for long or you will be painting him too! You have so much energy and great style and it shows in your beautiful home! Keep inspiring us!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Everything looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty! I love the paint color & the red shutters!! Can you share the names of both colors pretty please? :)

So we have been both walking around covered in the same paint color lol! Your room looks BEAUTIFUL- love the pillows, especially!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I loved the old version of the sunroom, Kim - I was worried that I wouldn't like the new version. Well....it is gorgeous! I love the creaminess of it - cosy for now, and I 'll bet it will feel cooler in summer.
ReplyDeleteNice job! The only room I really miss from my old house is my sunroom--and no place to add one here. But I got a guest house with this one, so I suppose it's a trade-off. Your room lokks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a fantastic room - it's amazing what a little paint and "house-shopping" can do! Great work!
ReplyDeletePaint does make everything feel new.

ReplyDeleteIt's so soothing. I loved the green but this is really lovely too. Great job Kim, you have a wonderful gift.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I just painted over my green walls a few months ago. It was a little sad, because it was a great shade of green like yours, but it was so outdated. I love the fresh, neutral palette. Great pillows!!
ReplyDeleteMagazine worthy! Love the wall color. That green clock over the door is so cute!
ReplyDelete♥Linsey
Where have you moved your chicken pillow? I've looked for one everywhere. It was my favorite. Everything in the sunroom looks fabulous. Wonderful job.
ReplyDeletePerfection! Seriously, I could just curl up on that couch and dream the day away in this room. You hit it out of the park on this makeover Kim!
ReplyDeleteHeather
OK, I was upset when I realized you were going to paint my favorite room. I was sort of in love with the green :). But, I LOVE the new look. Very pretty and it allows your accessories to make a statement instead of the wall color. BTW, I have that very same magazine rack, but it's painted a yellow color. Love all your touches of vintage items mixed in, especially your succulent pot.
ReplyDeleteKim your sunroom is gorgeous!! I love the new color. All your beautiful decor is amazing.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Your sun room is gorgeous Kim! Love the new color, your arrangement and all them PILLOWS!!!!

ReplyDeleteWow, you have outdone yourself. This room needs to be featured in a magazine, what a charming, fun filled room. It's light and airy, but comfortable and cozy all at the same time. I love your pillows and you sure know how to accessorize beautifully. The color scheme goes lovely together. I wasn't sure I would love the lighter look (I love color) but you have showed us that light and bright can be elegant and cozy, as well! Well done, Kim! Thanks for sharing with us. xo ~Liz

ReplyDeleteI love your sunroom no matter how you decorate it. It's always one of my favorite rooms. BTW where did you buy the white slipcovered couch? I'm on the lookout for one.
ReplyDeleteThe sun room is looking quite sunny! Heh, but that's quite true. The furniture and the wall colors don't get in the way of the windows and all that natural light. The colors are in the right shade so they don't look awkward from the light of the sun. Good job!
ReplyDeleteLouie Cunningham
I adore your sun room! Please ck out my blog Fat Juicy Art and let me know what you think. I started it a long time ago and I'm thinking about really going ahead now. I have more paintings to post.
