Just look at this beauty.
When I saw this with this wonderful shape it was love at first sight. It is very well made, too and heavy. Usually when I find a nice floor lamp at HG they are rickety and not well made.
I love the fact that the inside of the shade is white.
The hanging chain makes it so much easier for a person already sitting to turn the light on or off. I have noticed that most of these have a turn knob on top. This is a nice heavy chain, too.
Please, ignore Bailey's dog snot art on the window. This is where she lays on the back of the sofa and looks out. Gotta love her.
This is the lamp I found. This is not the shade that came with it. It was a nice shade done in a dark oatmeal color, but it was just bland so I brought this shade down from a lamp in one of the guest rooms. I just switched them out since they were the same size.
This lamp is made by Broyhill. I didn't know they did lamps. I love the details and color of this one.
As you can see this is in the sun room in place of the bird lamp. I have made some changes in here already. I know I have a problem. You don't have to tell me. Actually the problem was I was exhausted when I put the sun room back together and it wasn't really the look I was going for. I didn't get a full shot of the lamp before I made the changes. You will just have to wait.
The floor lamp was only $59! Wonderful price for a well made one. Much better than Pottery Barn or Ballard Designs prices. The table lamp was $39.
When I got home from Home Goods two boxes were on my front porch.
Yesterday was a good day.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I have had many inquiries on the information about the new rug in my sitting room. Here is the link.
Love the floor lamp and it really is good for a reader like me.
ReplyDeleteOh how VERY Smart looking he is... I LOVE the shape of the Neck on it... The Floor Lamp that is... Both our LOVELY Lamps and Great Prices...
ReplyDeleteKim, love them both! Oh my, that floor lamp is truly a one of a kind piece, just spectacular! Great looking table lamp too. I know how it is, these lamps can just jump right in our carts without us looking! It's fun when we find something we really like! So, what's in those boxes?? Do tell!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge "lamp" person too. I much rather have lamp light than overhead. HomeGoods is a wonderful playground...I also have two close by - 1 always seems better than the other. What's in those big boxes?
ReplyDeleteI have to see if our HG has the table lamp Kim! It is just what I have been looking for. What great deals and yes I agree the tall lamps usually are not that great there and they want too ugh of them but you lucked up! What oh what did you order?? Cant wait to see.
ReplyDeleteLove that floor lamp.I have a problem buying lamps too.I just spotted two really cool lamps at a resale shop. One had an alabaster base. The other was very french looking.Too hard to describe.Something you see in Jeanne D'Arc magazine.I passed these both up.Now I am regretting it.I may have to go back.
ReplyDeleteKim I love your new lamps! Home Goods always has beautiful lamps and there prices are great. Those sure are big boxes, now don't keep us waiting!!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking lamps, you did good! have to laugh about the "snot art" it's all over my french doors downstairs from the cats! ha ha, gotta love those furry kids of ours!
ReplyDeleteI really like your new floor lamp. I think the little chain pull gives it alot of charm too. Hmmmmm....2 big boxes at your door. I'm could probably guess what they are. I'll just have to wait and see though.
ReplyDeletePreciosa Lampara.
ReplyDeleteDesde hoy sigo tu blog, si lo deseas te invito a visitar mi blog y si es de tu agrado me gustaria tenerte como saguidora de mi blog para seguir en contacto. Saludos. Manoli.
I love the turned wood one, it is a classic, and the floor lamp is very cool too. Looking forward to seeing the treats in the boxes too.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous floor lamp, it is hard to get a well made one up here as well! Love the turned one great wood tone...
I wonder what is in those two boxes, but you will tell us, when you are ready to share right? I know I'm being a nosy neighbour!!
Have a great night!
All the Best,
Christine
That great black floor lamp is just what I've been looking for! Can I ask how much you paid for it?
ReplyDeleteThere is only one HG here and it's a little bit of a drive, but it might be worth it for that lamp.
I have a doggie snot art window too...thanks for the laugh on that!
Very pretty lamps and the prices were fantastic! Love HG!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I looooove your floor lamp! I had been looking for two for my reading room and ended up settling for some I found at walmart. They are ok, but yours is sooo much better! I really want to jump in my car and go racing to my hg and see if I can find one, but I'm really trying to stop buying lamps! I have such a problem! Right now I have 5 lamps in the closet that I'm not even using!
ReplyDeleteI was at HG's yesterday to spend some gift cards. Nothing cute like your lamp jumped out at me so I spent $50 on spices and that sort of thing. Well actually I spent $127 but I had to chip in the rest. I didn't get anything fun, but tasty!
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Both really are wonderful lamps. Love them. You did good. I havn't been to HG since before Christmas. I think I need to go. Can't wait to see what's in the boxes. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteNow Kim you know that Home Good can get us in big trouble... but you did good spill the beans what's in the boxes???? Or did I miss that somewhere in one of your posts? Have a great weekend
ReplyDeletepattie
I like the floor lamp. I don't think I have ever seen one that was black that was painted white inside. I like the "hook" to it. I don't have much luck finding floor lamps at HG here. You are right-they are usually rickety.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know it was Bailey and not you licking the window...I can only imagine what the UPS man would have thought- xo Diana
love, love, love that floor lamp!!! What a great buy!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish we had a Home Goods! I can't figure out why we don't, we have several TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores in town. Great finds!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I love both of your lamps but especially the floor lamp. I agree about the chain...I'm always practically knocking the floor lamp by my reading chair over every time I try to turn it on or off. Love the black finish too...every room needs a liitle black Mom used to say! I just might have to head over to HG tomorrow to replace mine with one like yours.
ReplyDeleteCheryl
I loooooove the floor lamp! The design and color are great!
ReplyDeleteYou have to be on your guard every minute when you go into HG.
Things are trying to escape, jumping right into people's buggies. lol
Love the table lamp!
ReplyDeleteI have a 'problem' with lamps too, imagine about 12 years ago I worked at a lighting warehouse...we have more lamps than you can shake a stick at!
Nice lamp, Kim! That's a nice substantial base, too. I haven't found a Home Goods here yet, but I did find the Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I don't need another lamp either, but I need to switch out a too tall lamp with something a little smaller.
ReplyDeleteThose are both beautiful lamps, and score on the price! Misty and Quinn have nose prints on every window in this house most days. Keeping up with it would require a full time window washer! And I look forward to seeing what's in those boxes!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Hi Kimmie! Oh, I love your new lamps! I haven't seen any floor lamps like this! It's wonderful and I love your new table lamp too! You did good! There you go again teasing us! What in the world does those boxes hold.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Bailey is quite the artist. You crack me up!
ReplyDeleteLove the floor lamp a lot. I am on the prowl for some new lamps for our living room to go with the new red floral sofa and chair. Maybe a trip to HG will be on the list soon. The closest one is one hour from home. Worth it.
xo
Great lamps....and love the "snot art" on the window...nice way to describe it....
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Kim; I love them both. 'dog snot art'. Ha!
ReplyDelete:)
Jan
I love that floor lamp!! what a great mix of styles...could go into any home....Great shopping!!
ReplyDeleteDog snot art? Hilarious! If it makes you feel any better, I have that same lamp condition. I have a closet full of them, and need a larger closet. In fact, I probably need to own a space in the local antique mall to liquidate some of my stash. You and a few other bloggers are inspiring me to make a trip to HG. After all, it's been about 2 weeks....way too long! The new rug was pretty, too! I never find anything like that on Overstock.
ReplyDeleteWow! I just love the intricate details of the lamp Kim. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love lamps too...not sure why, maybe because they add personality and style to a space. I love that floor lamp!! I would buy it too~I have been staying away from Home Goods~its too dangerous.
ReplyDeleteTwo good finds, love them both! Now do tell on the mysterious goodies- I was never good at waiting to open presents at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLove that chain feature. We need more of those.:)The inside of the shade being white..a big plus. enjoy them. Smiles to you,Susie
ReplyDeleteThe floor lamp is the perfect combo of form and function (as is snot art from a beloved fur baby). Of course, you'd find it and bring home.
ReplyDeleteI waaant that floor lamp....probably the only one in ATL. Both lamps are great finds. I have a HG on the north side of the city where I shop. Which HG store in ATL is your fav? Please share. Can't wait to see what's hiding in those big boxes.
ReplyDeleteHomeGoods..how did we ever live without it? It's always a good day at HomeGoods. Congrats on your finds, they are both great lamps, and for under $100 for both??!!..I say it definitely was a good day!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the HG near us. I've been twice in the last week and came home empty handed both times. Both lamps are great, especially the reading lamp. Had to laugh at Bailey's "art".
ReplyDeleteI saw a comment somewhere, about changing stuff around. If you don't change things just get lost and forgotten. I really like that person that wrote that, it is so true.
ReplyDeleteI love that you don't clean your dog's nose prints off your windows before taking and posting a picture. I have two dogs that shed a lot and I would have to sweep CONSTANTLY to have a picture prefect house. We live REAL lives, not in model homes. Thanks for keeping it real!
ReplyDeleteSweet Bailey needs her decorative freedom also...love the lamps!!!
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom lamps are broyhill...I love that floor lamp...very different...and a great price!
ReplyDeleteGreat lamp" ditto! There's nothing better than finding a box on the front porch. I received some new plate chargers this week from One King Lane and 2 were broken! The Fed Ex guy was taking something out on the boxes because they were well wrapped!
ReplyDeleteI love the new lamp, so pretty the shape is fabulous! Your stool (last post) is gorgeous to!!
ReplyDeleteXO
Kristin
*** WOW, Kim!!! That is "LOOOOOKIN' GOOOOOD"!!! And the numbers game here???~~~ "PRICELESS!"...
ReplyDeleteBTW, your PRECCCCCIOUS Bailey's nose "markings" (so "sweet!") are actually his "KISSES" to his family... at least that's the way I HAVE to look at it here at our house, as we're mostly glass n' stone, so our two German Shorthaired Pointers "leave kisses" virtually everywhere!!! Daily clean-up only takes a few miinutes, and well, I think they're WORRRRTH it, huh??? (I KNOW you'll agree on THAT!!! Insert happy smile here!)...
As always, I ADORE your blog!!! THANK YOU!!!

*** P.S. I love the way lamps seem to just "VOLUNTARILY JUM INTO YOUR CART"...... Sure wish MY older-but-sooooo-darling" TomMY Selleck would J*U*M*P into MINE!!!
ReplyDeleteXO, Linda ***
P.S.P.S.*** Sorry about the TYPOS there!!! (Just THINKIN' 'BOUT "my Tommy" puts me in a TITHER!!! Smiles! ***
ReplyDeleteKim I love them both. you have great taste and know how to get a bargain!!!
ReplyDeleteStacy
Lori, I went to the one in Cumming.
ReplyDeleteOh I love them both! Great finds, I mean, they found you and jumped in your cart! Smart lamps :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Great lamps, Kim! New lamps make such a difference in a room!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I especially like the floor lamp. I have a weakness for lamps, too, so I can understand where you're coming from. Are we going to get to see what's in those big boxes? :)
ReplyDeleteI love the floor lamp. That is the next thing on my list for J's lodge.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor designated Thursday, HomeGoods Day. Without fail, that is her destination each Thursday. I should designate a day, just for HomeGoods.
I saw that same lamp at my HG'S. I like the way it looks and now that I've seen it in your room I may go get it for a client!
ReplyDeleteKim, your lamps are so pretty. Now I understand why you said you liked my floor lamp : ) I like yours too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great night ~
Deanna
HI Kim, I am TRYING to catch up on posts! I LOOOOOVE the lamps, especially the table lamp!!! Gorgeous! Love the shade you switched to also! Can't wait to see what was in the boxes!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI love the floor lamp! Well actually I love them both, but I want the floor lamp! If I had a HG 10 minutes from my house, I'd be in such trouble. I only go when we are in Florida! There is one in St. Louis, so we plan a trip there in the near future to look for a bathroom vanity. They have such great deals when they have them.
ReplyDeleteWith aging eyes, I'm all about good lighting. Love the floor lamp.
