Yes, I am finally painting this little round table. The golden color just does not work in here anymore.
So out came my Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen. Love this color. I have a little more than a 1/4 of a can, but that will be more than enough for this small project.
After fifteen minutes of painting the first coat is on.
I love that the chalk paint brings out all the details. I bet you didn't know this table is covered in worm holes.
Well, it will dry for a little bit and then I need to do another coat and then figure out what other steps I will do to this piece.
This is what I am working on today while it is stormy outside. What are you doing today?
Have a super duper weekend and come back for a nice giveaway.
I want to paint the brass headboard in my guest room with Annie Sloan. As soon as I can open the windows as I can't take the bed apart and bring it out to my yard. You have inspired me. xo
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what a good coat of the right color paint can do?
ReplyDeleteToday is beautiful here ... freakishly warm with a light breeze. I've been working in the roses. It's supposed to get windy and colder later today, so I'll enjoy this weather while we have it. It's like a gift.
It's going to look good...I can already tell :)
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the French Linen yet but it looks like a great color. I'll have to order it!
ReplyDeleteThat table is so cute anyway but it really looks good painted. Great job! Rainy here too. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, but then again, you're a pro at this!

That is such a pretty table, Kim! I love the shape. It is looking good in its new color. I have two projects I'm debating doing today ~ one involves paint and one involves hot glue. It just depends which I want to get on my fingers! Very windy and cloudy here today, so any project would be a good one for today.
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me, Kim! Your little table is looking great already. I love that color and can't wait to see it finished. It's stormy here in South Carolina. I'm going to make some homemade pizza later today.
ReplyDeleteThat table is going to be so cool. You always put the best color combinations together. I can't wait to see the finished product. I drove past your Queen of Hearts on Sunday, thought of you.
ReplyDeleteSitting in a model home hoping someone, anyone - preferably a Buyer - would come in. LOL Watching it get darker and darker outside. eek! It is amazing how a little paint brings out all the lines and details that before were missed. Can't wait to see the end result. Happy Weekend! Barb
ReplyDeleteI am cooking dinner for my family, a big one-pot brisket, chocolate souffles (because my husband loves them and I love him) and I was inspired to set a pretty table with the china and silver, even though it's just the kids and my parents (the kids don't get to use the crystal though:).
ReplyDeleteI love the table painted, thank you so much for always having something great to look at.
I can tell it's going to look wonderful. Looking forward to seeing the final result.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing the finished table. I love French Linen too.
ReplyDeleteI am running errands this weekend. Not much else scheduled.
We are having warm spring-like weather here. The trees are blooming, the birds are singing! As soon as I get off this #$%& computer, I'm going to run errands.
ReplyDeleteThe table is fabulous with the new paint.
KIM- You don't need a therapist- You are YOUR own therapist. You just work out all your angers, frustrations and angst by PAINTING and redoing things. SOOO much cheaper than a visit to the HEAD doctor! lol
ReplyDeleteDid you have just a moment of "should I" when you started to paint that sweet little table? Do you know what my next paint project is? I have a little tiny TV in my little sitting room that is black and I am going to paint that sucker white. Yes. I. Am. Hopefully, this weekend. Hope your weekend is a good one! xo Diana
I really like that shade...I don't have that one..It's freakishly warm here...80!!Ran some errands then stuck inside packaging up some things that sold...now to the Post Office and then taking my grandson out to a movie and dinner for his bday! Looks like it will rain now...I heard it will be 50 tomorrow! crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteLiking the new color, can't wait to see it all pulled together with one of your great vignettes on top:)
ReplyDeleteI am currently covered in French Linen too! Great minds...
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
Oh my goodness.... you are always bizzz-zeee. I like it already. I live in a home that is over 100 years old. It has board and batten on the lower half of the walls. I am thinking about using Annie Sloan chalk paint on it. What do you think Kim?
ReplyDelete~ Lisa ~
It looks great already! You amaze me with all of your projects! I am getting a beadboard ceiling put in my laundry room tomorrow...so excited! Now if I could just get my puppy to sleep thru the night, everything would be wonderful! Have a great weekend!

Such a big difference already! I love the curvy legs. And yeah, what happened to all that sunshine we had yesterday?!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute table. Now did you sand that before you painted it??
I love the look of painted wood but I really hate to paint, wish you lived near me, I'd see if I could do some
bartering!! lol
Can't wait to see your finished project, lookin good already!
I am spring cleaning my kitchen and getting ready for my son and his wife to come for din din tonight.
Have a great weekend hon,
Blessings, Nellie
I think of you as the AS Chalk Paint QUEEN! You do magic with a piece of wood and a paint brush. French Linen is such a refined and easy on the eye color. I bet it goes with just about anything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference so far, Kim! I am looking forward to the finished product! Perfect use of a rainy day.
xo Yvonne
I really love that table and the worm holes.Natural texture.Yet another color I need to try.No painting for me today.Just trying to get some cleaning done.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love chalk paint! Your little table turned out just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how your table turned out! I'm about to paint my antique phone table a lovely, soft white... I'm scared that I'll be sorry, but, your project has encouraged me to go for it!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Kim!

It looks great Kim; I wish I enjoyed painting more. Even with Annie in the stable, I have a hard time getting to all those little paint projects.
ReplyDeleteJan
I love that piece and can see its going to look fabulous when you finish.
ReplyDeleteToday I finished a night stand in our bedroom and also a chair cushion for the same room. About five inches of new snow here today.
First of all, just the table itsself has beautiful lines and I love curves.
ReplyDeleteYou did a factastic job. Love the end result.
Looks good Kim! Can't wait to see it finished. I painted another piece today too, we must have ESP or something!?! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I've been painting a bookshelf with my French Linen -- it IS the best color!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend, Kim!
Oh I know it will look amazing. I can't wait to see it all done and in it's place. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeletethe table is lovely....aren't you glad you had leftover paint....
ReplyDeleteBoy...I love it. I'm about to quit designing so I can just work on my house full time! Then I could maybe get something done!
ReplyDeleteI think I am gonna like the table re-do, and I really like that you set up your drop cloth right then and there! Makes me feel better using my dining room table.
ReplyDeleteAll I did was get some groceries today. Hardly exciting.
~Bliss~
You've done her up proudly. It will look great anywhere.
ReplyDeleteLove that color!!
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I have avoided the piece of furniture that needs painting here. It's the prep work that is the least fun. Perhaps tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteYour table is such a pretty shape!
I'm loving it already! I think if I EVER finally buy some chalk paint, I will get that color. It is so pretty. I didn't end up going to the consignment store today. I decided to stick close to home with the bad weather looming. I ended up getting my faucet for the powder room though....finally! Jimmy will install it tomorrow. Can't wait to see how your table turns out after you add your finishing touches.
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of that table and that paint will only make it better. Can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI just love that color!!! It turned out really beautiful :o) Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteFirst, you don't need therapy, this painting and decorating is your therapy. Second, that table is just too awesome in design and style. Now with it's new sporty color, so chic.
ReplyDeleteThe table has a beautiful shape and the chalk paint will really bring out the details,Can't wait to see finished table.
ReplyDeleteOH, this is going to look good! You sure do get the projects done, Kim!
ReplyDeleteKim, you are at it again. Love to see how you change things. Love the shape of this table!

Love the French Linen too. Looking forward to seeing the finish.
ReplyDeleteThe shape of that table is just darling! The scalloped edges and curvy legs ... And I actually like the little worm holes. I haven't used French Linen but it's pretty. Isn't it amazing how far that paint stretches?
ReplyDeleteHey Kim,
ReplyDeleteFrench Linen is such a classic color...blends with everything so beautifully. I am sure your little table would hug you if it could ;->
The guys who work the register at my shop call me the 'Dealer' and my customers the 'Addicts' who come in to get their 'fix'...Ha!
It is addicting stuff and after 20years it is still the one and only original Chalk Paint!
Have a great weekend

What a great project for a wintery day. I am going to finish an apron I started a few days ago so I can list it in my shop. I can't wait to see the table finished and placed once again in your room.
ReplyDeleteLaura
Looks really great so far..Love the table that color!
ReplyDeleteI am taking a class next week to learn 5 techniques using the ASCP..so looking forward to it..
French Linen looks pretty! Can't wait to see what you do with it! (It's looking good already!)
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
So pretty! Love the way the paint brought out the wormholes! It really gives that little table an extra layer of character. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've caught a cold and am laying low. Of course this table will be fabulous when you're finished. Can you tell me how you made your Linky gadget smaller? Mine is too big. It's cold and sort of windy here. A good day to stay in. I'm working on Etsy stuff if I can get up the energy. :o)
ReplyDeleteYour little table has the most beautiful lines! It's going to be perfect! Ill have to get some French linen. I haven't seen that one, I don't think. It looks like it has more pink and less yellow than the Old White. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love the lines on that little table. I HAVE to paint something with that paint.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished project, it looks wonderful already!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love this table...
The worm holes are amazing...waiting to see what it will look like after you work your magic!
Have a great weekend!
All the Best,
Christine
Darling little table...lovin' the new color.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh...I love it! That color looks perfect, and you are right, it just really brings out the details!
ReplyDeleteWhile you were working on your table inside, I was painting a desk for my son's room outside. I really like how it came out. Stop by and check it out if you have time!
xo-Lisa
I can not believe I have never apinted a piece of furniture:) I love that beautiful, soft color. Can't wait to see it finished and what you put on it too! I am having a LAZY Sat. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see it finished. It's going to be truly beautiful! I'm going in search of that paint. I've never seen it anywhere here, but I'm going to be asking everyone now... :-)
ReplyDeleteLinda at Beautiful Ideas
awww thanks so much for the mention, Kim! very lovely of you :)
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the color on this table. I just bought a secretary at a consignment store and I just finished sanding it. I still don't know what color I want to use. I love the one you used. I have never tried Annie Sloan paint...I guess I'm the only one that hasn't tried it. Have you tried painting furniture with just regular paint? I was thinking French Gray by Behr. I need to try Annie Sloan...I don't want to mess up my secretary. I'm going to check out your sponsor link.
ReplyDeleteSandra, yes I have used regular paint, too. I used regular before discovering chalk paint and have done a couple of pieces since then with regular paint. I prefer chalk paint if I am trying to create a worn layered look. I cannot create it with regular paint.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reply Kim, I wasn't sure about painting a wall with the chalk paint... so glad I asked. Love your blog. :)
ReplyDelete~ Lisa ~
Looking good.
ReplyDeleteYour little table looks great Kim! Love the new finish!
