I brought it in the sun room just to take some pictures in good light.
See how big it is? I love the aged patina. So much better than the shiny new ones.
Looks like it was well used, too. Nice and black inside.
This side view shows how deep it is. This would make a cool cake, but it will just hang on the wall.
Do you see where the copper is turning green? Gotta love it.
I have moved some pieces around and placed it on this kitchen wall. This is a great find to add to my collection. Now, if I only had more walls for when I find more.

I love your rooster mold Kim...looks great on the wall too. It is HUGE!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I'm actually baking a poundcake as I write. Now that would be an interesting poundcake. Also, thanks for the tip on the glass canisters. Just arrived last week. Great quality and exactly what I was looking for, too.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the days (probably early 80's) when you would see copper stuff every where - people getting rid of it like it was diseased! I used to have some, and I even remember spray painting some of it. If I only knew!

It really is a super piece, love the rooster on it. It looks fabulous on your wall. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWell, I love just about anything with Roosters on it, so I adore your new mold. I love the copper, too! It looks wonderful on your wall. =)
ReplyDeleteYou're on a roll! Your copper mold collection is really starting to take off. It looks good with your other mold in it's matching patina.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece Kim. Looks like a work of art on your wall.

HI Kimmie! I've missed you and see you've been up to lots of things! Painting tables and buying molds. This is such a great one! You know how I love Roosters and this is a cute one. It is so big too! You should bake just one cake in it and show us how the Rooster looks! :) Then we'd all come over for a piece of cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
GREAT OLD MOLD! I wish I had some of my copper pieces back that I gave to my daughter. It was always my metal of choice from the 1970's on...at least for that down-home feel I do love Silver though, too.
ReplyDeleteThat would make a darling cake! xo Diana
My Grandmother had a ton of these and she actually used them for the dreaded Jello salad for the Church pot luck! Wish I had them now... they look so cute on your wall!

Oh, what a beautiful Roo mold. I can see how you coudn't hold out any longer. Sometimes you just gotta. :)
ReplyDeleteI would have splurged on a piece like that too Kim! Love the patina!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect spot you had for it.
ReplyDeleteIt was just meant to be.
The mold is beautiful ! I can see why it was so hard to resist. It looks lovely in your home . Happy hunting--I have the feeling that you're on the look- out for more pieces .
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful mold Kim. I have an old copper rooster mold, but it is much smaller than yours. You found a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. Love the patina in it and it looks great in that wall - great find!
ReplyDeleteOops! TYPO: *on* that wall...not "in" that wall.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really substantial piece. I see why you're glad you finally got it!
ReplyDeleteIt is large, and with such great patina. Sometimes you just have to buy it if it 'speaks' to you.
ReplyDeleteIt is enormous and I love it when it turns green.
ReplyDeleteLove the rooster on the mold.
ReplyDeleteIs it a jelly or cake mold?
Great find.
Love that rooster Mold. looks great on the wall.
ReplyDeleteLove it, but then anything with roosters gets my vote! Love the patina and love copper. It looks great on your wall.

ReplyDeletePlease don't make me want to collect anything else. If I keep writing it, maybe it will work...sigh. Love some copper!
That is such a pretty mold. Do you worry about running out of wall space. I do - can you imagine not having anywhere to put anything new and having to edit the collections. Yikes, not a good thought.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love those copper molds and actually have a few that were my grandmother's. Must be such history there...
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at A Simply Klassic Home!
Kim, this one is fabulous! Like you, I prefer the aged patina of copper rather than the shiny polished pieces. Love the rooster of course! ;-) I recently found two more for our kitchen ~ a small heart and a larger rectangular one with a heart motif in the center. Fun to add these when one can find them for a good price. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteLove the rooster mold. The age adds such a touch of history. I'm now following you on Linky and hope you return the favor. Thanks, Helen
ReplyDeleteThat was a great find. I'm loving your start-up mold collection.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to resist making a cake in that!
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the deep shape of this mold and who doesn't love the classic rooster design? Very nice find.

I love the rooster great find good addition for your collection.
ReplyDeleteI love olden molds, too...this one is a honey.
ReplyDeleteGood bite, Kim! I have a couple of small copper molds on my pantry wall, but they're new, so they're missing the patina. Wonder what would happen if I actually used them?! Huh?
ReplyDeleteGreat piece to add to your growing collection!
