I love my new upholstered tufted oatmeal linen headboard. It was a steal from The Home Decorators Collection.
I ordered it after Thanksgiving and was told it would ship around 12-22. Well, I had it two weeks early.
Let's refresh your memory of the bed we did have. I did love this big wooden bed, but wanted a softer look.
Ahhhh much better and this bed takes up less room than the other one.
The stool at the foot of the bed went from this.......
.....to this with some French Linen ASCP brushed on. I love the softer gray color.
The new soft blue quilt is from Pottery Barn outlet.
I swapped out the lamps in here. The ones by the bed and the ones on my dresser just changed places.
These huge lamps were a bright white and I went over them with Old White ASCP to soften them, too.
I know y'all won't believe this, but I am contemplating painting the dresser, but not sure.
Love the way this quilt picks up the blue in the chair and ottoman.
One problem we had with this wonderful tufted headboard is that the holes on the frame did not line up exactly with the bed frame I ordered from Costco. Mr. Savvy worked on it till he made it work.
I ordered these monogrammed pillow cases from Pottery Barn during there big sale a few weeks ago.
I showed y'all a while back the sun burst mirror that I painted gold.
This is a vignette on my dresser.
This is a glass dish with a divider normally used in the dining room, but it is holding some of my jewelry. I won this dish several months ago from Rene at Cottage and Vine's etsy shop giveaway.
Here is the vintage French market basket on hubby's armoire. I hope some day to replace this armoire with more of a European style.
Here is a picture that I took during the Christmas holidays right after we got the bed set up. I love the way this picture turned out. Don't even know why it turned out this way.
Oh, and I painted the Santos doll on the floor with French Linen, too.
I love the new look in here.
how beautiful! you've inspired me to give my room a new look! i'm a sucker for tufted buttons, looks amazing! :)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous Kim! I love your new tufted headboard and how light and airy your Master bedroom looks!
ReplyDeleteOH, i love it, the bedroom is simply stunning! That was part the reason that i took my wood bed down aswell, funny ya really notice that extra foot walking around the bed..I say go for it and paint the dresser!....Bonnie

I had a vision of you walking around your house with your paint brush in hand seeing what you could paint!
ReplyDeleteI really like Mr. Savvy's armoire and wondered what it would be like with the center panels cut out and something else put in... like some etched glass saying something French?
~Bliss~
Gorgeous. I love your new headboard. The entire room is stunning. I love the one dark piece of furniture in the dresser. It seems to ground the room. I think every room needs something dark. Beautiful. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Your room looks beautiful. Have you tried your long bench at the foot of your bed? May need to order that headboard too!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Debbie I did put it there and the mister complained about possible hitting it in the middle of the night like he did in the past.
ReplyDeleteyour bedroom is beautiful. I saw the pic of your dresser and thought ..I bet she will paint that next! lol..then read you were thinking of doing that!
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me with your painting transformations! No one should stand too still at your house or they might get painted!
Your room is so beautiful and restful! Love the tufted headboard! The new linens are beautiful, too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's so chic!!! I do hope you'll come share this at my new 4 blog linky party Cowgirl Up!, starts tonight at 9.

Wow!!! I love it. It is amazing how much softer it makes the whole room feel. It is just beautiful! I wouldn't paint the dresser. I love the natural pop of wood that it gives the room. It just adds some nice texture and warmth. That is my crazy opinion! I am also in love with your long pillow. I love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kim, just love your new headboard too!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower of your blog for sometime now I would visit your blog and just be so inspired. Your Bedroom is Gorgeous, I love the tufted headboards. Have a Wonderful day
ReplyDeletePeace and Blessings
Cheryl..Snatch JOY~!
Love that headboard! I have had the same one for about 2 years now, and just can't say enough wonderful things about it! It goes with every color scheme that I have used with it and is soooo comfortable to lean up against and read at night. It does seem to show dust often, but nothing that the upholstery brush on the vacuum can't handle.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new bed and beautiful new bedroom decor.
It really brightens up the room Kim! What a beautiful headboard.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kim! It is just gorgeous. Now, I am sure you already did this...but...if you didn't here's just a bit of advice. Get a can of Scothguard and spray that sucker several times. You will never see a speck of grime on it and if SOMEONE happens to touch it with a greasy hand you won't be sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe whole room looks incredible. It is so much softer looking ... and ... you KNOW you are going to paint that dresser! xo Diana
Very pretty and soothing!
ReplyDeleteLook very pretty Kim
ReplyDeletePattie
This is gorgeous! It makes me want to redo my bedroom! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteKim it turned out beautifully. I absolutely love this softer look.
ReplyDeleteI am writing from Jefferson City MO, this morning. J had a bad episode and passed out when we were at lunch , Saturday on our way home from the lake. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and this is where I am writing from.
His St Louis doctors and the ones here decided a transfer to St Louis would be risky. He's at a stress test this morning. Hoping to be able to get home tomorrow or next day or at least to the St Louis hospital. What a weekend!
Just thought I would let you know, as my visits may be sporadic and I may not have usual posts for awhile. Depending on this and that. May post an archive with updates on what's happening here.
Oh my goodness, Kim, this is truly gorgeous!! Love your wall color!!

No wonder you love it! You have some wonderful pieces, and the new headboard is beautiful, but the way you pull them together is really special. I like the gorgeous wood dresser, but of course you have to do what feels right for you.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the old bed, but this one is so pretty too. I love how soft it looks. Your bedroom is lovely (and so you).
ReplyDeleteI love your new bed and your room is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Kim as is everything you do. It's wonderful how you can change your your rooms so frequently. Everything is always so fresh and inviting. Enjoy your new lovely retreat! Peggy - Angel Baby Creations
ReplyDeleteI like the new headboard, but please DON'T PAINT THE DRESSER!!!! The ASP-look won't be stylish forever.
ReplyDeleteWow. It's just beautiful. So calm and relaxing. I love that the room is so big too. Mine is pretty small and it's hard to get that expansive feeling that you have achieved so well. So, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job. Love the headboard change. It looks so much softer and romantic. Just found your blog via MaryAnn. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOhhh! I love the new headboard! it just seems relaxing in there!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Kim, I love the new softer, lighter look and your headboard is beautiful. xo, Sherry

This is absolutely stunning. I loved how you brightened things up!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love upholstered headboards. Hopefully, I will be making my own soon. Yours is absolutely lovely! It instantly made the room look much softer. I would definitely paint the dresser with chalk paint and distress it so it will flow with the room. I just found your blog and I looovvveee it! I know I'm going to spend the next week reading every single post!
ReplyDeleteThat headboard is FINE! And girl, you do know just what to do to get something to look the way you want! I like how you paint whatever needs to be tweaked without worrying about anything! It is a lovely, lovely room. :)

It's beautiful! Looks so cozy and peaceful! i'd never want to get out of bed!
ReplyDeleteSooo lovely. Funny that last year I embroidered Bonne Nuit on our pillows in the mountains. I want a smaller bed too...but the only thing in the beach house besides the stove that my husband loves is his sleigh bed. Guess if I hang on to it long enough if will be back in style.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty, Kim.
I have very high standards when it comes to interior decor :) and I absolutely love, love, love this. It is so French and so beautiful and I think you should paint the dresser because you will do a beautiful job of it. x Sharon
ReplyDeleteKim, I loved your room before, I love it even more now. Just gorgeous. I have wanted that headboard for a long time. You have given me the inspiration to go ahead and buy it..beautiful,
ReplyDeleteKim --
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and sooo restful. Just what a master bedroom should be. I hesitate to throw out an unsolicited suggestion, but since you mentioned that you'd like to have a more European armoire, I do have an idea for you. What about taking out the braided panels on the doors and replacing them with chicken wire backed by gathered fabric? Just a thought!
Linda @ A Toile Tale
Gosh, I loved the bed before, but the upholstered headboard is gorgeous, too! The whole room makes me want to move in. I particularly love the dresser you have to the left of the bed. I don't think I would paint the dark wood piece- it's nice to have a little mix of finishes. Did you get rid of the old bed?
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim,
ReplyDeletePaint the dresser...well of course you will be painting that dresser ;->
You are one dangerous lady with a brush and a can of ASCP! I like that about you.
Well done on another gorgeous room restyle.

Kim,your room is gorgeous! It should be on a magazine cover. Sweet dreams for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificant transformation. The room transformed into such a beautiful soft and gracious sanctuary. You always do such amazing work!
ReplyDeleteLike SO many have said, its truly lovely in every way. I do agree w/a few others; don't paint the dresser, it does 'ground' the room, esp w/such a large bedroom. The room is perfect. OH, please share where you purchased the bedskirt. Have searched and adore yours. Best Wishes and Sweet Dreams.
ReplyDeleteKim, i shared this post w/a designer friend: quote 'truly dreamy and beautiful, peaceful and pleasing to the eye'. She also said, 'don't paint the dresser'...... perfect as is....luvin' that bedskirt......
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I am going over to Home Decorators Collection to check out the headboard. I need a few for the girls' room. You have such style and class. Now I really want to go all neutral in my bedroom. Your is so classy and soothing.
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to link up this post to our new weekly multi-blog party, Cowgirl Up, 1 party, 4 blogs.
I love the new look! The upholstered headboard really makes a difference. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks beautiful, Kim! I have wanted a tufted headboard for quite some time. I also like your dresser. It reminds me very much of the one in our master (Magnussen). I think it is a lovely stain/finish, but I'm sure if you paint it, it will look great as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! That is a gorgeous room.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness......the room is beautiful. Love, love, love it!
ReplyDeleteWell that tufted bed changed the whole feel of the room! You must be in heaven when you go to bed at night. It all looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look! I say paint the dresser! My husband is getting a little worried with me and my paint brush! Over the holiday season I painted my ash kitchen table and chairs. Soon, I'll be painting my maple fireplace mantel. I loved your old bed (hopefully, you found a new place for it). I have wood in the both bedrooms and I won't be able to touch them with a paint brush!
ReplyDeleteLove, coming by to see what you're up to.
~Sandy
Oh my gosh! I am in love with your new headboard! The room looks so soft and beautiful! Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI have been dying to switch out our big dark wood bed for an upholstered headboard, but so far, can't get Mr W to agree to it. :-( I'll wear him down eventually! ;-)
Beautiful room as always, Kim!

Amazing, Kim !! You've been one busy little decoratin' bee, haven't you? I LOVE the new headboard, and the blue PB quilt at the foot of your bed is such a fun pop of color. You'll laugh when you see my bedroom because our tweaked colors are quite similar. I know Mr. Savvy is hoping you'll take a break now. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis looks incredible! You did an amazing job. There's not a thing in this room that I don't love.
ReplyDeleteIt's cozy and dreamy. Love the subtle hues and then minute I landed on that dresser I wondered to myself; "wonder if she'll paint that?" It's a lovely dresser but...it would be a lovely painted dresser too. So whatcha gonna do?
ReplyDeleteKim, it's perfect! I love upholstered headboards so much - they are just so inviting and welcoming in a bedroom and really invite you to curl up and relax. I love how something so simple can make such a big impact. This just looks like an ideal retreat at the end of a long day.
ReplyDeleteCan I sleep on your floor? I'm exhausted! ;-)
Oh, Kim. I want to move into your bedroom. Do you have room for me? I really like the new tufted headboard. I gives the room a totally new look. Gorgeous!

The bedroom looks so warm and luxurious with the addition of the pretty linen. It is amazing what the addition of more fabric can do to a space. Also having perfect lighting adds to the overall warmth.

you could replace the panels in the door of the armoire with mirrored ones that have the look of old antique mirrors. i am sure there is a tutorial online somewhere for that.
ReplyDeleteKim where did you find those big white lamps? Those are amazing! Love.
ReplyDeleteWhat color paint did you use in this room?
ReplyDeleteJill, that is Davenport Tan by Benjamin Moore. It has been lightened up some since then to Alexandria Beige.
DeleteI know this has been posted for a while but just came across it on Pinterest. Love this master bedroom. The headboard really changed the whole look of the room. Just love it! Where did you get the bonne nuit pillow?
