When I go in it is hard not to look around. It is filled with all kinds of home decor things.
What I need to do is put blinders on when I walk in so things don't come home with me.
I am a very weak person though when I see something I love like an aubusson pillow.
This was aubusson and pheasants. Perfect combination. I knew it would be perfect on my sofa in the great room.
It goes so perfectly with the colors of the other pillows.
After all it is the perfect companion to the new picture over my fireplace from the same store.
My sister and I were talking by email and I told her about the gorgeous new pillow I bought at the consignment shop. Then she said that she had checked her account from the same store and noticed that a pillow of hers had sold that same day for a pretty good price. Well, you can see where this is going. Yep, I bought my sister's pillow that she had taken to the same store since we both consign there.
Yes, it could have been free, but I still got it for a fairly good price since I know how much these go for.
Then while looking at Pottery Barn on line I spied these wonderful pillows.
They were on sale plus free shipping and I knew they would work in here for a spring look.
Y'all know I am always changing pillows or pillow covers for a new look.
So for now these pillows are a nice change.
I know a lot of you love pillows, too. We really should start a pillows anonymous club don't you think?
Thank you so much for the well wishes for my husband.
I will hopefully be taking him to the doctor today.

Oh, Lawd...this is so funny! I am not necessarily tempted to buy things in the shop where I have my booth, but Tammie just brought in a dry sink....
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny! Great minds think alike. I love all your pillows. Your photos have given me the urge to go shopping. Kim on one shoulder: Go shopping! Hubby on the other: Please, no!
ReplyDeleteGood story! I'm always scared to death that I'm going to buy back something I already donated from our local thrift stores when I'm out looking for treasures!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny. A good purchase for your room, though. And you could not have found any better to go with it than the Pottery Barn pillows!
ReplyDeleteBetty
I just left a note on your kitchen post, then went to facebook and saw this new post.
ReplyDeleteI would have the same problem. Your consignment shop has the most wonderful things! I love the pillow and the print. Perfect in your room.
The pillow would be great in J's lodge too.:-)
The pillow on the sofa looks great especially the pop of blue it brings in. I'm in love with your pheasant picture!
ReplyDeleteI love your new pillow Kim. So funny that it was your sisters. You definitely are the pillow queen!
ReplyDeleteHow funny that you bought your sisters consigned pillow! I do love it....
ReplyDeleteYour pillows are gorgeous! I love the one from your sister! I do the same thing. I bring stuff to the consignment shop, and come home with more stuff!! I guess we just love stuff!

ReplyDeleteKindred spirits, you and I, we both have a pillow obsession! And I am guessing so does your sister! Very cute story!
ReplyDeleteYvonne
Oh that is a great story! My 5 sisters all live far away, but sometimes we'll find out that we bought the same thing!
ReplyDeleteThe pillow is perfect!! Where do you consign your stuff? Is it in Buford? Please share...
ReplyDeleteToo funny! When my Mom lived in the same area as me, we would have coincidental purchases that were identical or we would say "I saw this thing at such and such a shop and it was so cool" and we both had been to the same place and saw the same thing and neither of us had talked about going there nor had we been there in like 2 years... SO twilight zone! Enjoy the pillow, it's gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThat is so funny!! She better check with you first before she unloads anymore stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou scored your very own sister's pillow? That is too funny. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure :) -Al
ReplyDeleteOh My! That is hilarious! It must have been so funny when you both found out! Awesome pillow though, showing you both have great taste!
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
That is so hilarious! My sister and I found out last year that we bought the same exact Spring wreath for our front doors in 2 different states so I totally get that sister thing. :-)
ReplyDeletePraying your hubby feels better soon!
Vanessa
That is very funny....you and Kelly are a real pair...
ReplyDeletethe pillow is beautiful....doesn't she consult with you before she gives things away...I think you need to have her do that next time...and I love the PB pillows..they all look great together...
That's too funny Kim!! Love that pillow!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pillows and so is the picture. Shopping is fun but we must be careful.
ReplyDeleteI am pillow challenged. I love them but only have a bare minimum and most of the ones I do have, I don't like. Maybe I just need a sister with the same taste as me?
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
That is pretty funny, Kim. My sister and I have passed some things back and forth so often that we can't remember who originally owned them! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeletethat's hilarious about the pillow :)
ReplyDeleteHope Mr. Savvy is okay, I must have missed that post.
That is so hysterical!!!! Your new pillow is gorgeous though and looks so pretty on your sofa...love the colors!
ReplyDelete~Des
Kim, I love them all (pillows, that is)!!! Haha, too great about your sister's pillow. I really like the look of your living room decor and colors, a lot! We're about to move into a new house, and I feel like your home gives me so many good ideas. I am trying to hang on to my couches a couple more years, but I think if I totally change out the pillows for new ones it would give them new life!
ReplyDeleteBLessings,
Leslie
What a HOOT! Man I love that pillow and it happens to me all the time!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! Great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteFunny. You and your sister have similar wonderful taste. Love the PB pillows too.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That is a very funny story. I am madly in love with you/your sister's pillow - it is gorgeous! Jane
ReplyDeleteLove that! Perhaps you should start shopping in each other's houses before you head to the consignment store :)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently stalking some things at my local consignment store, but I think they're way overpriced. Hoping I can nab them when they hit the lowest markdown.
You certainly have some gorgeous pillows, Kim. I would love to relax on that sofa, it is just such a welcoming look.
ReplyDeleteKim, This is sooo funny! At least you know both of you have wonderful style. Love your new pillow. xo, Sherry
ReplyDeleteKim, that is way too funny. I love consignment stores too. I found a secretary desk for $100 and I am almost done transforming it. Nice pillow, btw.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love your funny story and everything looks great.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That is such a funny story!! That just means you both have great taste in home decor!

ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Goes perfect with your decor....
ReplyDeleteI think that just shows what great taste you and Kelly have :) Hope your husband is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
karianne
Oh my gosh, that is so funny, Kim! My sister and I have had similar things happen with us. One year we bought the same card for Father's Day {or Mother's Day, one of the two}. We also have similar tastes in things. The pillow is gorgeous and really does go so well in that room, especially with that painting!
ReplyDeleteMy pillow....er, I mean...your pillow looks perfect on your sofa! You're not going to even believe how much I paid for that pillow. It came from an upscale country french home interiors store in a swanky neighborhood. Are you ready? $165.00. So, I promise you, you got a good deal. I had it for years and after not using for the last few years, decided to part with it. It didn't go with my new style. It completely goes with yours though. So glad that I get to come visit it again. It was hard to part with. Your new pillows from Pottery Barn are very pretty with it too.
ReplyDeleteI love that story! What a crack up! I would demand a refund! Not really.. you got what you wanted, and I'm sure she's thrilled...
ReplyDeleteCute post.. great job on the pillows!
Jan
My sister and I could shop in different cities and bring home the same exact shoes, dress, etc. we had the same taste.
ReplyDeleteOnce when we'd bought the same shoes we were both home for the weekend and brought The Shoes. I wore size 6 and she 6 and 1/2 or 7. We accidently switched them for Sunday church and were both miserable. After we got home and discovered why we had a good laugh.
At least you know it came from a good home....Great story. Why did she get rid of it? Her loss is definitely your gain.
ReplyDeletethat's so funny about you buying kelly's pillow....sounds like something i'd do!
ReplyDeletewell, one things for sure, you and kelly have great taste!
judy
Don't tell her I said this (and I hope she doesn't see my comment), but that pillow was too gorgeous to get rid of! ;o) You definitely made the right choice! At least you ARE consigning something, too (my justification ;o) There SHOULD be a club for that addiction. I've got a 4 ft tub full of them I'm waiting for my husband to take down the steps to the garage of my fall pillows, and I've been eyeing PB's new ones for summer in their latest catalog, trying to talk myself out of 6-10 of them. They are just really hard to resist. Hope your honey gets to feeling better. I feel for both of you!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! That sounds like something my sister and I would do. Love all the new pillows.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! That sounds like something my sister and I would do. Love all the new pillows.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a sister, this would have happened to me!! So funny. Hope your husband is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you are talking about. I like to change out the pillows for the four seasons that we get here in NY. I think your pillows look great.
ReplyDeleteHow hysterical is THAT? You bought your own sister's pillow? That is like something you would see on a comedy show.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the pheasant picture and the pillow came out of the same house to begin with? They look great together.
Hope Mr.Savvy was able to get into the Dr today and got some health questions answered. xo Diana
I have bought items at local antique stores only to find out my good friend sold the items to the dealers. Birds of a feather flock together, I guess. I do love your new pillow and your sister will probably wonder why she sold it when she sees how nice it looks on your sofa!
ReplyDeleteThat pillow was calling your name Kim! Love all the pillows. Great colors!
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me that my sis and I frequently show up in almost the same outfits without knowing it. Same thing with decor. Love that pillow!
ReplyDeleteHope things go well with your hubbs, You guys will be in my prayers.
THAT is a great story. I had a pair of darling Christian Dior shoes that I got on sale in Paris...but they were just too big (I tried insoles and everything)...took them to consignment...and a few days later, I saw my good friend and neighbor wearing them :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and your sister were "cut from the same cloth" so to speak! I love the pheasant pillow, it really does look like it was made for your sofa! A perfect match.
ReplyDeleteHow crazy that you bought your sister's pillow! And it is gorgeous! It looks fabulous with your sofa and other pillows! Pheasants are one of my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. I'm emailing Kelly to see if she has any more pillows she wants to get rid of. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love Aubusson pillows and hers/yours is gorgeous. I gotta check out your consignment shop.
That's too funny Kim, but I can see why you wanted it, it is a beautiful pillow and I like the PB ones as well! How did your husband's visit to the Dr. go?
ReplyDeleteKat

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Kim, I laughed out loud at this tale. Sounds like something my sister and I would do. if you start that pillow club sign me up. Pillows tumble out of all my closets when I open the doors!
ReplyDeleteEmily
I love that story. It is definitely something my sister and I would do. Love the new pillows. I am behind in my reading and missed the post about your husband. Hope he is doing okay.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
That story is hilarious...Great minds think alike and love "like" things!...It looks great on the sofa!
ReplyDeleteThat is just too funny! That pillow reminds me of one in our bedroom in the chair my husband sits in to put on his shoes. Every time he leans back, a sharp feather end sticks him in the back and I hear, "ouch"!, but have I moved it? Nope. It's just too cute there!
ReplyDeleteLOL....a lot! That is just too funny but I would buy my sister's stuff too. We both have the same taste. Love the pillow....love them all! That orange is a nice pop of color for Spring.
ReplyDeleteI looooove pillows! That's the first thing I go to when I start changing up a room. Too funny about buying your sister's pillow!
ReplyDeleteYou and your sister should have a true "swapp meet".
ReplyDeleteBothe of you have great taste. Hugs, Ginger
The pheasant pillow is beautiful, Kim! I don't blame you for being tempted. It looks perfect on that couch. (NOTE: I am a bonfide memmber of PA... never saw a pillow I didn't want to bring home!)
