Look at all these wonderful items. Another gorgeous box to add to my growing collection, more roe deer antlers at a super price, more great vintage leather bound books for only $5 each, and the one piece I have been on the hunt for, the vintage trophy.
The antlers were a good price at $30 each compared to what I have seen them for. I was going to hang them in the sun room, but decided to split them up and hang them in separate places.
If you need vintage leather books at a great price you should visit this vendor at Scott's. He pulls out a bunch of books that may be a little more worn and places them on a table where they are all priced $5. I came home with these four beauties.
My favorite find though is this wonderful old trophy with its very worn finish.
I hope the person didn't mind third place too much.
The bottom is very worn, but I don't mind one bit.
Great shape.
It stands tall next to my other vintage books.
Perfect in this room.
I will show you where the other items ended up bit by bit.
Have a super weekend and happy hunting!

ReplyDeleteI am so excited! I am the first! The first to comment....you see, I have never been first before. I think this is going to be a great weekend!
blessings,
karianne
PS I almost forgot! I truly heart your trophy :)
I too love to shop at Scott's Antique Mkt. I always come home with some treasures...Of course, I miss Lakewood so much, but still can find some "good buys" at Scott's. Love all that you got. My gal pal collects the loving cups and I am the antler collector. I actually bought a set when we traveled to Austria...you got a great deal. Tiffany
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Kim! Love those books, I am on the hunt for some for our sitting room.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you found a trophy cup. I know that you have been looking for one for a long time. How perfect. I love your old books, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteEager to see how the antlers look! I came across some at my father in law's farm and want to use them, just not sure how to integrate them into our decor. Loving your other finds as well :)
ReplyDeleteYou found some great treasures, Kim. They are all wonderful finds and I especially love the trophy.
ReplyDeletexo, Sherry
You scored big time at the antique show! I absolutely love the vintage trophy! I don't think I have every seen anyone collect vintage trophies. You found a great spot for it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Sandy
Oh Kim,
ReplyDeleteyour hunt was so successful. I love all the items you found.
Your deer atlers remind me that I have a wonderful elk atler that is waiting to be woven into a basket.
I am not weaving much anymore, but sure would love to create that one.
Love those books too.
We used to live in Marietta and loved it there. We spent three wonderful years in the great state of Georgia and were so sad to leave.
There are some great antiques shops to visit and I am jealous of your haunts. Can't wait to see more. Have a wonderful weekend,
Char
Wonderful finds! At first I thought you might have found a confit pot and I was going to be extremely jealous! Someday I am going to get to Scott's....we can meet and have fun...we might have to go separate ways though..we like the same things...:-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Kim! I love the trophy cup. I can't ever find one. The books were a great price. You did very well!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Great finds, I love the books, I have been looking for a while but prices are way out there $25 for one. So your's are truly a great find as well as buy. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful finds Kim! I'm especially jealous of the vintage books. They are so expensive at all the places I've been to.

Great finds.I am kicking myself.I came across one at a thrift store recently for pennies.I passed on it because I did not like the inscription. What was I thinking.I could have just turned it around.Oh well.
ReplyDeleteThe trophy is a beauty!! I have always wanted one too but haven't found one at a price I can live with :) Love those books too!
ReplyDeleteJane
Fabulous finds, Kim! Your loving cup trophy is perfect for your hunt themed sitting room and of course, I love the old books and antlers, too. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Your trophy is wonderful, I am thrilled you found one. The books are also fabulous. I think you had a super day. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGlad you found what you have been looking for! That's always exciting. I like all your other finds too.
ReplyDeleteI was there today - nice to run into a fellow Atlantan - I bought several items for my home and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Like your blog - check out mine!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Kim. I'm glad you found your trophy that you had been looking for. I have never been to Scotts, but it's on my list.
ReplyDeleteScore!!!! We don't have a great Flea near us. I think I may need to make a trip South. :) Have a great weekend! Barb
ReplyDeleteKim I've been dying to go to Scott's.. it's on my list for sometime soon! Living in NE doesn't make it very feasible, but I do have a relative in Atlanta, and will just have to coordinate the next time I visit and make sure I can do Scott's at the same time!
ReplyDeleteLove your box so much! and the books are to die for.. I'm on a constant hunt for antique books, and have also found some reasonably priced. Now, when I find them for $30 a piece, I pass on and wait for the better prices! They're out there..

ReplyDeleteKim, those are terrific finds. Wonderful trophy. I'm happy for you that you found this one. Glad you had a good day. Weather here is cold and wet, not a good day to be out and about. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend......Sarah
Love the trophy. It fits perfectly with your dog collections. This would have been from a hunting dog field trial, derby class is young dogs, between 1 and 2 years old. Great, great find.
ReplyDeleteDeb
Awesome finds! We like a lot of the same things! Haves great weekend.
ReplyDeleteDebbie

ReplyDeleteLove the trophy, Kim. Looks awesome with the olden books!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Kim! I'm so excited for you! You really hit the jackpot, yesterday!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I miss most about living in the ATL is Scott's Antique Market. You brought me right back there. We purchased so many fine things. I too love antler trophies, "real" trophies, and vintage leather books. You are right. The bargains are the best. My BFF Dixie Delights still lives near Atlanta, so I can live vicariously at Scott's through y'all....
It looks like you got some great finds, Kim! I love the books! I am always looking at the books now when I go to an antique mall. I haven't seen anything as nice as these though.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finds...Love the trophy...I saw one recently for $150...a "tad" steep, so you really scored on this one..I love the Scott's Antique Market...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
That trophy is awesome Kim. As are the books. Good deal on those!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the trophy looks with the books. 78 degrees...wow! It really is spring there. I think we are going to get up in the 60's later this week!
ReplyDelete-Shelley
There's nothing like the feeling of spotting that "one" thing you've been searching for. You scored lots of great things on a beautiful spring day. I can hardly wait for spring to arrive in MN!
ReplyDeleteThat trophy was definitely a score. I love it when I find just what I am looking for.
ReplyDeleteLaura

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day.. great finds, absolutely love the trophy.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim! I have secretly been looking at throphies. Yours is a beauty. And the year....I have a beautiful silver ice bucket with lid that was given to my great aunt from her high school graduating class in 1925. That was a good year!
ReplyDeleteMarsha
Love love love the olden books. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe trophy cup is amazing and looks awesome in your shelves...
I STILL can't get used to people decorating with antlers...they look good in YOUR rooms, tho.
xo bj
Oh Kim! How exciting! I have been looking for a trophy as well! I love what you found! As you said, the shape is great! Love the Roe Antlers too! You really got lucky! :-)

Those are great finds Kim! Love that trophy!!
ReplyDeleteDid you find a haul! When we sold my in-laws' house we had a huge sale right at the end. My FIL owned race horses most of his adult life. He had all sorts of trophies that we sold in that sale. Boy do I wish I could go back and do that differently. I wish I would have kept just a few...anyway your trophy is amazing. Glad you finally got one!
ReplyDeleteLove this series of shots... but I especially like the third shot of the vintage book spines... Will you consider entering it in my 'Weekly Top Shot' meme? We're on Week #21 and I'd love to see you share with me and my readers! Here's this weeks' link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=6603
ReplyDeleteHey, Kim, looks like a fun trip to Scotts for you, great things you found. Thanks for stopping by on the St. Simons post, loved reading your comment. What fun it must have been to live there as a child, I can see how memorable that would be. I cannot believe this was my first trip, since I have lived in GA most of my life. It was worth the trip for sure. I had a fun time at Scotts today too, didn't buy anything though.
ReplyDeleteYou did well Kim, I love all of it. enjoy the rest of your weekend
ReplyDeletewarm wishes
Colette
